We Always Figured Prince William Was A Relatable Dad & Now We Know It’s True

Hell hath no fury like a parent arguing with a child over screen time. It is a modern-day battle that generations before us could never understand. Millions of parents threaten to entirely take screens away daily if their kids don’t shape up. Here’s a little secret, it’s not just us commoners. The royal family fights screen wars, too. Suddenly, we feel so much better. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Prince and Princess of Wales (@princeandprincessofwales) Princess Kate and Prince William’s Kids Can’t Get Enough The Prince of Wales, 42, recently told Erik Scott during a visit to the British Academy of Film and Television Arts that his children are “always wrestling over the remote,” Hello! reported. He and his wife Kate share three children George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 6. Their lives are certainly different than many, but they are still kids. Kids love to watch TV, play on tablets, and be entertained. It’s nice to know that even though they’re royalty, they’re not much different than the rest of us. In 2022, William admitted to People that he and Kate did their best “trying to regulate” screen time but admitted that “they’re fascinated by it.” At the time, he said George used screens more than the others, who were “a bit too small at the moment, but they love the films.” This will likely come as no surprise, but according to the Mayo Clinic, too much screen time isn’t good for anyone. They suggest limiting screens until age two and then allowing them in moderation. “By age 2, children may benefit from some types of screen time, such as programming with music, movement, and stories. By watching together, you can help your child understand what he or he is seeing and apply it in real life. However, passive screen time shouldn’t replace reading, playing, or problem-solving.” Parenting isn’t easy, no matter who you are, and it’s a relief to know that the royal family has the same struggles as the rest of us.
