The “Today” Show’s Anchors Win Halloween With Nostalgic Costume Theme

For many people, Halloween is an excuse to dress up and become someone totally different. Even though it’s just one day, it’s nice to be able to escape. The Today Show loves Halloween and gets into the holiday spirit. They choose a theme and go all out. We’ve seen the Today Show hosts as country stars for Halloween, sporting mom jeans from the iconic Saturday Night Live skit, and even dressed up as Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. Their dedication to a theme never disappoints. This Year’s “Today” Show Halloween Theme Was A Real Blockbuster The hosts chose “VHS Rewind” as the theme, and their costume selections were amazing. Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager dressed as Jack and Rose from Titanic. Savannah Guthrie was pretty in pink as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. Al Roker and Dylan Dryer teamed up as Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz. Photo by John Nacion/Getty Images We loved Carson Daily and Sheinelle Jones as Austin Powers and his lover Foxxy Cleopatra. And is there anything better than Willie Geist in a Ron Burgundy suit and mustache? We think not. Craig Melvin donned an Axel Foley costume, and Laura Jarret killed it as a Clovers’ cheerleader from Bring It On. But if we had to pick a favorite, it would go to Peter Alexander as Mrs. Doubtfire. His outfit was on point, and the vacuum cleaner killed us. Photo by John Nacion/Getty Images Of course, fans loved the Today Show‘s Halloween costumes and shared their favorites on YouTube. This fan couldn’t choose writing, “Shinelle, Craig, Hoda, Jenna & Al is my favs. Happy Halloween To You All!” And this person loved Savannah. “This was great! Thanks to you all! Especially to Savana for doing the bend and snap!” Photo by John Nacion/Getty Images The theme gave this person the feels. “As a millennial, this is awesome. I would totally be working with Jenna at Blockbuster.” Happy Halloween to the Today Show team. But before you return your tapes, remember to be kind and please rewind.
