Magical Moment: Man Finds Painter At Work In The Middle Of A River

When you visit a different country, you might see many interesting things. For Reed Smith, an adventuring 22-year-old, visiting Japan was eye-opening. While hiking and enjoying the beautiful scenery, Reed encountered something that fascinated him: a lone painter in the middle of nowhere, on a tiny outcropping of land in the middle of a river. @reedsm1th I’ll remember this moment forever ♬ original sound – Reed Smith Reed Smith has been sharing his life on TikTok since at least 2019. He also has a small smattering of videos on Instagram and YouTube. This amazing young man loves traveling and shares many of his discoveries. His videos go viral because he offers a fresh look at life in other countries. Reed was enjoying a hike when he saw the painter by the river. The tiny outcropping of land can only be accessed by a small, handmade ladder-bridge. The painter had to travel across the river to carry his gear. Sitting with a mostly completed painting, it is a surreal scene. The canvas is at least five feet tall and around seven feet wide. Image from TikTok. The painter is recreating the scene of the forest along the river’s edge. The realistic-looking painting is masterfully crafted with care in each brush stroke. Reed quietly watches the artist as he applies additional color and detail. You can see the painter looking to his left to verify the “original” scene before adding to his beautiful painting. We don’t know if Reed let the painter know he was watching, but the scene is beautiful and serene. We can imagine the sounds of nature surrounding the artist, enveloping him in the very scene he is painting. What an incredible discovery. Thank you for sharing this, Reed. Please share if you know someone who appreciates great art. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here.
