Ronnie Dunn Reveals Skiing Injury Led To Knee Replacement: “8 Week Vacation”

Can't ski like he used to... Yesterday, Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn shared a post on Instagram reporting the news that he'd suffered a pretty nasty injury after taking a tumble while skiing. Of course, we're finally getting into the thick of ski season (snowboard season for some of us), and as anyone who has ever been on mountain knows, it's not exactly for the faint of heart. Hell, I give Ronnie credit for even getting out there at 72 years old... I know people in their 20s who'd rather post up at the resort lodge with a cold beverage in hand (maybe a spiked warm beverage in hand), rather than brave the treacherous slopes. You know, apres-ski... without the skiing. I'm also curious where Ronnie likes to go? Is more of that traditional Beaver Creek or Vail kind of guy or is he out at Park City, Utah? Big Sky? Maybe Lake Tahoe? Or is he an East Coast guy... I just wanna know. But unfortunately for Ronnie, his last trip to ski country is gonna have him on the shelf for a minute. He posted a photo of his left knee all bandaged up, joking that he should change the lyrics of his song "I Don't Dance" from "I don't want to dance with anybody but you" to "I probably shouldn't ski anymore at 72." So at least he has a good sense of humor about it, even though he now has an "8 week vacation" due to the injury: "Changing these lyrics from 'I don’t dance with anybody but you' to 'I probably shouldn’t ski anymore at 72'….? 8 week vacation!! That's a hell of an injury to go from taking a fall while skiing to having a full-on knee replacement, so our best wishes to Ronnie as he recovers over the next couple months. Hopefully he'll heal up fast, rip through physical therapy, and that knee will be even better than before. Dunn took the stage a couple of weeks ago to perform "Believe" at the CMA Awards with Jelly Roll, which was included on Brooks & Dunn's recent Reboot II album that also included artists like Riley Green, Morgan Wallen, Megan Moroney, Lainey Wilson and more. Even though he might have to take a break from skiing for a while, and scale it back, he can still sing like nobody's business with that once-in-a-lifetime voice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kPrAdU_Vyw&pp=ygUTYmVsaWV2ZSByb25uaWUgZHVubg%3D%3D REBOOT II Tracklist: “Play Something Country” with Lainey Wilson “Neon Moon” with Morgan Wallen “Rock My World (Little Country Girl)” with Marcus King Band “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You” with Megan Moroney “Brand New Man” with Warren Zeiders “Believe” with Jelly Roll “She Used to Be Mine” with Riley Green “She Likes to Get Out of Town” with The Cadillac Three “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” with Halestorm “Ain’t No Way To Go” with Mitchell Tenpenny “How Long Gone” with The Earls of Leicester “I’ll Never Forgive My Heart” with Jake Worthington “She’s Not the Cheatin’ Kind” with Hailey Whitters “Hard Workin’ Man” with Christone “Kingfish” Ingram “Hillbilly Deluxe” with HARDY “Indian Summer” with ERNEST “Drop in the Bucket” with Thousand Horses “Only In America” with Corey Kent "She Used to Be Mine" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNIxU34VKp0
