WARNING – GRAPHIC FOOTAGE Officials have released video footage of an assailant shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Midtown Manhattan Wednesday morning. Thompson, 50, was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital. “Video footage released of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson being executed by a masked gunman. Video footage shows a man in the grey backpack pulling out a pistol with a silencer on it before opening fire. The man was seen firing multiple shots at Thompson who stumbled to the ground,” Collin Rugg wrote. “According to The New York Post, the weapon jammed at one point, prompting the gunman to fix it so he could keep firing. The conference was abruptly called off due to “a very serious medical situation” with one of its team members, Witty said in a statement. Officials said no arrests have been made yet and that the investigation is ongoing. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a cream-colored jacket, black face mask, and black and white sneakers. Officials said he was carrying a gray backpack. Witnesses told The Post the suspect had been spotted near the vicinity of the hotel, on 6th Avenue, milling around. “NYPD has released photos of the suspect and is now offering a $10,000 reward. Police were seen performing CPR on Thompson after the suspect carried out the attack and fled through a nearby alley. It is believed that the suspect waited hours for Thompson, with some reports claiming he waited overnight,” Rugg noted.
