Country Star Makes Surprise Visit To Coffee Shop Run By Employees With Disabilities

It’s been a big year for Noah Kahan. This folk/country singer continues to tour all around the world, much to the delight of his supportive fans. But just because he’s on tour doesn’t mean he never takes breaks. In fact, Kahan recently paid a visit to a very special coffee shop located in Charleston, South Carolina. You may have heard of it: Bitty & Beau’s Coffee. But this beloved shop does so much more than serve tasty drinks. According to the shop’s website, they’re actually “a human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop.” More specifically, they place a high priority on hiring folks with intellectual and developmental disabilities. So, when Kahan was in town, he was sure to stop by for a visit. Luckily, he had some fans there! Catch a glimpse at his visit in the video below. @bittyandbeauscoffee A very special guest stopped by Bitty & Beau’s Coffee in Charleston, SC! Hi, @Noah Kahan – glad we could get you fueled before your concert with @American Express that night. Thank you for supporting our coffee shop! #noahkahan #noahkahanmusic #americanexpress ♬ original sound – Bitty & Beau’s Coffee It’s so cool to see such a huge celebrity take the time to shine a light on such a valuable business. Speaking of which, it has grown so much over the years. At first, they only had a single location in Wilmington, North Carolina. But thanks to all of the support they’ve received since opening in 2016, they’ve since opened 18 stores across 11 states. This allows them to have over 400 disabled employees! One of the shop’s owners tells Kahan about their history in the video below. Turns out, it’s Small Business Saturday. And because of a partnership with American Express, he wanted to showcase one of his favorite small businesses. How cool is that!? “He already knew them and all their names,” one fan points out in the comments, another adding, “Sometimes I forget he’s actually massively famous and not just a regular dude from a couple towns over, this was so nice.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here!
