At the 12th Annual Bring Change to Mind Revels & Revelations gala, Zachary Williams, Robin Williams’ son, detailed his father’s legacy during the event. The 41-year-old Zak recalled how Robin used to cater to the needy and give a helping hand to strangers on the road. Robin Williams’ philanthropic nature not only helped those who needed it, but it also amazed his children and still inspired them.
“When I was a little kid and we’d be walking in San Francisco where I grew up, he would stop, talk to someone on the street, a homeless person, say, ‘Hey boss, what can I do for you?’” Zak said. “And we’d see him get meals, food, money.” Robin Williams practically showed his children the importance of “kindness” in society.
Zak noted that Robin Williams’ legacy did not extend to a few, he also supported charity organizations and was active in fundraisings, awareness programs, and support for all. Hence, the children do not only remember their father’s legacy, they are also intentional about carrying it on. They desire to continue what their father was passionate about in his lifetime.
