The bell was long ago made electronic and you now push a button instead of physically ringing a bell, but usually what people do is still hit the gavel after the bell is rung. Like this: But President Trump did not do that. In fact, he didn’t even touch the gavel. That’s interesting! And how many times did he ring the bell?
