The Toyota Prius and Rav4 are no longer Prime

The new 2025 Rav4 “Plug-in Hybrid.” | Image: Toyota Toyota’s Prius had its full glow-up redesign for 2023, and now the automaker is switching up what it’s called, too. The 2025 Prius Prime will now go by a more straightforward name: the Prius Plug-in Hybrid. The same goes for the Rav4 Prime, which is now called the Rav4 Plug-in Hybrid. Toyota says the name change “is intended to help consumers more easily identify the powertrain choices” among Prius and Rav4 models. The 2025 versions of the Prius Plug-in will also have an updated “PHEV” (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) badge on the rear. The Rav4, meanwhile, will no longer have a blue halo in the Toyota logo on both the front and rear. The specs for the new 2025 Prius models seem unchanged otherwise — the plug-in version still has a... Continue reading…

Leak reveals new iPhone 16 features that never made it to Apple’s final version

For years, the iPhone had the same set of physical buttons. We had the Mute switch, the Volume keys, and the power button that Apple now ambiguously calls the "Side button." Rumors have also said that Apple is working on creating an iPhone with no buttons or ports of any kind. With that in mind, many Apple fans were likely expecting the company to start removing buttons from the iPhone, not start adding more... but that's exactly what's happening. The iPhone 16 is the first iPhone lineup where all four models feature the same button changes. You get an Action button instead of the Mute switch on the left and a Camera Control button on the right, in the spot where some phones had a 5G antenna. It turns out that Apple was planning other button changes for the iPhone 16 series during development, but it abandoned those changes during the prototyping phase. The Camera Control is the only new button that survived. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus also get the Action button Apple only used for the iPhone 15 Pro models last year. Continue reading... Renovation Project Reveals 38 Medieval Skeletons in Paris Basement

A man living in the Paris suburb of Corbeil-Essonnes was working on a renovation of his basement when he unearthed something chilling. It was the remains of what was clearly an ancient human skeleton, which had apparently been buried directly below the site where his home had been constructed many centuries following this individual’s death. The French homeowner contacted the authorities to report what he had discovered, and it was quickly concluded that his find was archaeologically significant. Researchers from the Regional Archaeology Service of Île-de-France were soon dispatched to the site to launch an official exploration, and what they ultimately recovered exceeded their wildest expectations. During a series of excavations carried out by Archeodunum in four separate sections of the basement, covering 560 square feet (52 square meters) of floor space, the archaeologists unearthed 38 skeletons, 10 of which were encased in plaster sarcophagi typical of early medieval burials. The remainder were buried in less elaborate wooden coffins placed inside pits, indicating that they’d lived and died in an earlier period. Sen. Warren Probes Defense Groups' Opposition to 'Right to Repair'
