It’s bringing AI to printers. The new HP Print AI experience is rolling out today in an “exclusive” beta and comes with a Perfect Output feature that’s supposed to clean up printouts of webpages. HP says it will automatically detect unwanted content like ads or weird formatting, allowing it to print just the “desired text and images.” It’s also supposed to optimize printouts of spreadsheets by keeping charts and tables on a single page, instead of splitting them up. But now, the company says it’s opening things up — Horizon OS and Quest VP Mark Rabkin said during Meta Connect that from today, the Meta app store “fully welcomes 2D and spatial apps.” Meta also says it supports web apps, and what do you know? Screenshot: YouTube OpenAI CTO Mira Murati is leaving the company, she announced on Wednesday. “I’m stepping away because I want to create the time and space to do my own exploration,” she wrote in a post on X. “For now, my primary focus is doing everything in my power to ensure a smooth transition, maintaining the momentum we’ve built.” This comes almost a year after a boardroom coup shook the AI startup and temporarily ousted CEO Sam Altman, leaving Murati as its temporary leader. Prior to OpenAI, Murati worked at Tesla on its AI efforts. In her six-year tenure, Murati was responsible for managing the company’s popular chatbot, ChatGPT, as well as its text-to-image generator DALL-E.
