Teammate of transgender NCAA volleyball player says she had to room with him on trips after he specifically requested her

A teammate of a male player who plays on the San Jose State University women's volleyball team has joined a lawsuit against the NCAA.SJSU women's volleyball is off to its greatest start in program history (8-0) with the help of a male athlete on the team. That athlete is biological male Blaire Fleming, born Brayden, who is listed on the team website at 6'1''.SJSU has disabled comments on X posts, kept Fleming out of highlight packages, and even removed him from game recaps as a result of backlash from him playing on the women's team. Now, SJSU's co-captain Brooke Slusser has joined a lawsuit against the NCAA for allowing males to compete against females. After transferring to SJSU from Alabama in 2023, Slusser shared a residence with four teammates, including Fleming, a male. OutKick reported that Slusser also had to room with Fleming on road trips frequently and later found out that Fleming specifically requested to room with her.According to her legal complaint, Slusser was never told that a male athlete was on the team. While she noticed that Fleming could jump higher and hit harder than any girl at SJSU, she didn't realize he was male until she overheard students calling Fleming a "guy."Slusser was uncomfortable with the transgender athlete's presence on the team and questioned if it was safe for her teammates or even opposing players.'It comes down to the NCAA not making a safe and fair, level playing field for our women athletes in collegiate sports.'Slusser also shared concerns about possible concussions; she said she and her teammates regularly discuss the dangers of being hit by one of Fleming's spikes. The teammate isn't the only person to notice the velocity of the male player's hits. The mother of a Nevada Wolfpack player recently spoke out against the male player."They have worked so hard for this, and to have that stripped away, to play with a male athlete, is unthinkable,” Idaho mom April Chainey told the Daily Signal.Chainey, who is assumedly the mother of Nevada's Carissa Chainey, said that she is "scared for every single player" who plays against Fleming, due to the higher risk of injury."It's so much bigger than her or her Nevada team or the Mountain West Conference. ... It comes down to the NCAA not making a safe and fair, level playing field for our women athletes in collegiate sports," Chainey added.Nevada will play SJSU on October 26.In addition to the concerns of players and mothers, the women's team from Southern Utah backed out of a game against SJSU completely. Reports surfaced that the team told tournament officials it did not want to play against the undefeated team. While it was not confirmed if Fleming was the reason for the cancellation, it was also not denied.Men have obvious physical advantages over women in volleyball, which is displayed by the fact that the net in men's college volleyball is 7'11", while the women's net is 7'4".Like Blaze News? Burglar naked from waist down stands over sleeping couple's bed, says 'shoot me' when ordered to leave. Husband complies.

A burglar who was naked from the waist down stood over the bed of a sleeping husband and wife and said "shoot me" when he was ordered to leave the residence in north St. Louis County, Missouri.Indeed, the burglar's wish was the husband's command.St. Louis County prosecutor Wesley Bell said in a statement to KDSK that 'Missouri law clearly provides homeowners with the right to protect themselves, particularly while on their property.'Cedric Marshall, 47, walked through the couple's unlocked back door in the Hanley Hills area around 5 a.m. last Tuesday, KDSK-TV reported, citing court documents."Mr. Marshall then stood over the husband and wife while he was half naked and that awoke the homeowners," Maj. Ron Martin with the North County Police Cooperative told the station. More specifically, Marshall was naked from the waist down, KMOV-TV reported. The husband "ordered him to leave," KDSK reported, citing court documents. But Marshall "lunged at the homeowner and stated you'll have to shoot me," KDSK added, citing court document.Police told KDSK when the two men struggled, the homeowner shot Marshall once in his chest.KMOV, citing charging documents, noted that the suspect fell to the floor saying, “Alright, man, don’t shoot me no more,” according to charging documents.Police told KMOV the victim ordered Marshall out of the house again, and he complied. According to KDSK, Marshall — who weighs 225 pounds — collapsed in the family's backyard.Police responded to the 7900 block of Bloom Drive to investigate the reported home invasion and shooting, KMOV said, adding that officers found Marshall in the backyard suffering from a gunshot wound.Maj. Martin in reference to Marshall told KDSK that "we found his pants on their porch."Neither the couple nor their 5- and 10-year-old children were hurt, KDSK reported, adding that Marshall left a blood trail inside the couple's home.Investigators at the time didn't know why the suspect — who lives about six miles away in Wellston — targeted that family's home, KDSK said.St. Louis County prosecutor Wesley Bell said in a statement to KDSK that "Missouri law clearly provides homeowners with the right to protect themselves, particularly while on their property."Marshall was hospitalized, KDSK reported.St. Louis County prosecutors charged Marshall with first-degree burglary and misdemeanor assault, KMOV reported. He was being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond, KDSK noted. You can view a video report here about the incident.Like Blaze News? Path of Exile 2 Ranger class guide

What is the best Path of Exile 2 Ranger build? The Ranger - and some of their skills - return in Path of Exile 2, but this time with an emphasis on speed and agility. We'll be able to move while shooting and also build out in either long or short range combat, depending on what suits your playstyle. Sometimes it's chaotic to play a ranger with hordes of fast-moving enemies in an RPG game like Path of Exile 2, but seeing as the devs are aiming to have this ranger feel like Legolas, expect swift movement, high jumps, and quick getaways. As we look forward to the Path of Exile 2 release date, we've gone through all the skills and gems we've seen so far and what the best Ranger build could look like. Razer just rolled out Snap Tap on most of its keyboards and laptops

Razer just dropped a surprise announcement about its controversial Snap Tap tech. While Valve is busy banning its use in CS2, the Razer Snap Tap rollout continues, with the company bringing the tech to loads of its keyboards and Blade laptops, following its previously exclusive use in its Huntsman keyboards. When it first launched, Snap Tap impressed us so much we've come to consider it a game-changer when it comes to the best gaming keyboards. The Razer tech is transformative for certain games, such as Valorant and Overwatch, with Valve quickly stepping into the fray to enact a CS2 Snap Tap ban. This new Intel CPU just changed the thin and light gaming laptop game

Intel Lunar Lake is one of the company's most anticipated CPU launches in recent years, despite it being a laptop-only chip and not an upgrade for desktop gaming PCs. That's because it not only offers greatly reduced power consumption, resulting in much longer laptop battery life than older Intel CPUs, but its GPU is genuinely gaming-capable too. The new CPUs launching today will be finding their way into some of the best gaming laptops with thin and light designs. Laptops with dedicated separate GPUs will still provide the best gaming performance, but if you're looking for a laptop that is portable, will last a long time, and can do a little bit of gaming, there's a new option from Intel in town. DBD rival The Texas Chainsaw Massacre slashes price permanently

The world of asymmetrical gaming is one of the toughest nuts to crack. For every Dead by Daylight success story there’s eight Evolve-style commiserations, and it’s often got nothing to do with the quality of the title. One game that’s bucking the trend is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre which has carved out a nice niche for itself in the year since launch. That niche might be about to get bigger too, as it’s just slashed its price, permanently.
