Palworld developer has no idea why Nintendo’s suing over its Pokémon-like game

Image: Pocketpair Pocketpair has responded to the lawsuit filed against it by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. The studio that developed Palworld, the game at the heart of the suit, issued a statement early this morning saying it doesn’t know what patents it violated. “At this moment, we are unaware of the specific patents we are accused of infringing upon, and we have not been notified of such details,” the statement read. According to Nintendo’s press release, the reason for the lawsuit has to do with Pocketpair allegedly infringing on multiple as yet undisclosed patents. The details of the lawsuit have not yet been made public, so we do not yet know which patents and according to Pocketpair’s statement, it doesn’t know either. The news broke last... Continue reading…

YouTube will start showing even more ads soon

There's been a lot of talk about YouTube ads in the past few years, as Google has made an aggressive move against YouTube ad blockers. Google's stance is understandable. Commercials are what make services like YouTube available for free. They also help creators make money. Google's aggressive stance has seen some backlash, and the company will soon upset YouTube users even more by increasing the number of ads in videos. The company will bring advertisements to paused videos, which sounds annoying when you first hear about it. Black “Marble” from 1627 Knight’s Tomb in Jamestown Came from Belgium

There is a remarkable tombstone installed in a church in Jamestown, Virginia, the site of the first English settlement in North America in 1607. The tombstone dates to 1627, and is covered with carved depressions (once filled with brass inlays) that depict the outline of an English knight with a sword and shield. But while the exact location of the first burial site has been lost, researchers have uncovered a fascinating piece of information about this 400-year-old memorial. They have determined that the limestone used to make the tombstone was quarried overseas in Belgium, before being shipped to London for later transport to the New World. Did the Conquest of the New World Save the Spanish Empire? Journey to Knighthood: The Hidden Steps of Becoming a Medieval Knight 300-Million-Year-Old Fossils Reveal Existence of a Colonial Era Trade Route In their new study, Dr. Marcus Key, a professor of natural philosophy from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, and Dr. Rebecca Rossi from the California Geological Survey analyzed some chips of rock that came from the knight’s tombstone. They were searching for the remnants of ancient fossils, which are easily preserved in limestone.  "Due to the evolutionary process, biological species are much more unique through time and space than chemical elements or isotopic ratios," Dr. Key explained in an interview published by Phys.org. Grandson Shares Heartwarming Health Updates Ahead Of Jimmy Carter’s 100th Birthday

Jimmy Carter, the longest-living U.S. President in history, is turning 100 on October 1. Despite entering hospice care in February 2023, his grandson Jason Carter recently shared that the 99-year-old is “doing okay” as he approaches this remarkable birthday. Jimmy Carter’s grandson, Jason, revealed that despite being in hospice care for over 19 months, Carter remains emotionally vibrant and engaged. Physically, Carter’s condition has significantly declined, limiting his ability to perform daily tasks independently. However, his emotional well-being remains strong, allowing him to continue enjoying life’s moments, sharing laughter, and experiencing love as he looks forward to casting his vote in the upcoming presidential election. Former President Jimmy Carter is excited to cast his vote for the upcoming presidential election ImageCollect Jason revealed that his grandfather is excited to cast his absentee ballot for Vice President Kamala Harris, which would be a historic moment in itself. As Jason put it, “He was excited to turn 100, but he’s more excited to cast his ballot for Vice President Harris.” RELATED: Former President Jimmy Carter Reveals His Dying Wish While In Hospice Care This move is significant, considering Carter grew up in the segregated South. By supporting Harris, he’s endorsing a Black woman for the presidency, which Jason believes would be an incredible story to cap off his 100-year life. ImageCollect Jimmy Carter’s 100th Birthday Celebration In honor of Carter’s centenary birthday, a tribute concert, Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration in Song, was held at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on September 17. The benefit concert, featuring artists from various genres and generations, is traced back to his 1976 campaign. A plethora of stars from different spheres paid tribute to Carter, highlighting his emphasis on human rights and love for music as a universal language. ImageCollect The event, which will air on Georgia Public Broadcasting on October 1, Carter’s birthday, raised funds for The Carter Center, founded by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter in 1982. The organization promotes health and advocates for democracy worldwide. Most recently, The Carter Center released models for promoting genuine elections to strengthen democracy.
