‘Am I Racist?’ Earns ‘Verified Hot’ Badge On Rotten Tomatoes

After an incredible opening weekend, “Am I Racist?,” the new movie starring Matt Walsh going deep undercover into the world of DEI, has achieved the honor of “Verified Hot” on Rotten Tomatoes. The popular review site recently changed their rating system to include the “Popcornmeter,” which gives a special ranking to reviewers who are verified to have purchased tickets to the film they’re reviewing. A movie must receive a verified audience score of 90% or higher on the Popcornmeter to receive an official Verified Hot badge and must have a minimum of 500 Verified Ratings for films in wide release and a minimum of 250 Verified Ratings for limited releases to qualify for the Popcornmeter, as The Daily Wire previously reported. Mainstream critics have completely ignored the film, while the critics who have reviewed it gave “Am I Racist?” favorable reviews.  “Matt Walsh swiftly and entertainingly exposes the race-industry for the crazy charlatan grift that it is,” one reviewer wrote.  Another agreed, writing, “A bold, provocative and outrageously funny documentary. Regardless of where you stand politically, Am I Racist? will be an eye-opening experience that will change the way you look at anti-racists and racism in America.” The audience score was sitting at an impressive 99% as of Sunday night with well over 500 verified reviews. Moviegoers almost unanimously agreed that Walsh’s latest project is hilarious, important, and poised to help take down the DEI industry. “Completely entertaining…entire theater laughing hysterically…while also engaging with an important social issue. Tough to pull off…and they pulled it off,” one reviewer wrote.  “Brilliant. Very uncomfortable in spots, but very hilarious in others. We need more of this type of film making on all societal issues,” a second person agreed. “Loved the movie. Changed the way I think about things. It’s been awhile since a movie made me laugh out loud,” a third reviewer echoed. Even liberals who disagree with Walsh’s politics are saying “Am I Racist?” is worth seeing.  “Liberal up in Canada, increasingly holding my nose as I vote for Trudeau. Honestly man, it’s surprisingly good. I was REALLY surprised that Matt Walsh could do the Borat thing. Sacha Baron Cohen spent YEARS perfecting the art. But, by the end of film, the comparison is in fact warranted,” a Reddit user wrote of the movie.  “The film is hilarious and worth watching, especially if you’ve been on the wrong side of one of these grifters despite allegedly being in the same team.” “Am I Racist?”made history for being one of only 15 documentaries to open in over 1,500 theaters after expanding from just 200 to start. It debuted as the number three release in the country over the weekend. The Daily Wire entered the entertainment space in 2021 with a mission to disrupt Hollywood. The company has since released six films, including the acclaimed “What Is A Woman?” starring Walsh, one of the most-viewed documentaries of all time. “Am I Racist?” is The Daily Wire’s first theatrical release and is already defying industry expectations with its box office performance. “Am I Racist?” is now playing at theaters nationwide.

‘He Is Unstoppable’: Trump Gives Thumbs Up In Photo After Palm Beach Shooting

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) revealed a photo of himself standing with Donald Trump smiling and giving a thumbs up after the former president survived an apparent assassination attempt at his golf club in Florida on Sunday. In a post to X, Johnson said he and his wife Kelly were just departing Trump’s nearby Mar-a-Lago resort, “where we just spent a few hours with President Trump and are thanking God for protecting him today — once again.” Johnson added, in addition to sharing photos of them standing with Trump and a sunset peaking through the clouds, “No leader in American history has endured more attacks and remained so strong and resilient. He is unstoppable.” Kelly and I are departing Mar-a-Lago, where we just spent a few hours with President Trump and are thanking God for protecting him today—once again. He is unstoppable. pic.twitter.com/43Rm8SPGU8 — Speaker Mike Johnson (@SpeakerJohnson) September 15, 2024 Trump’s campaign announced Sunday afternoon that Trump was “safe following gunshots in his vicinity.” The FBI later said it was responding to West Palm Beach to investigate “what appears to be an attempted assassination” of Trump. Secret Service personnel opened fire on a man who poked a rifle muzzle through a fence around Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club where he was hitting the links, officials said, after which the suspect fled and was later detained by police. CNN reported that the former president left the Trump International Golf Club with his motorcade after the Secret Service warded off the suspect and he returned to his Mar-a-Lago estate, which is located in Palm Beach, Florida. In a defiant statement addressed to his supporters on Sunday, Trump declared, “Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again.” Trump previously went through a harrowing attack in mid-July, when a shooter opened fire on him while he was speaking to a crowd during an outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, as he seeks another term in the White House. The former president survived, though he was hit in his right ear by a bullet. He raised his fist into the air in a show of strength. One rallygoer, 50-year-old fireman Corey Comperatore, was killed. Two other attendees were wounded. Secret Service snipers took out the gunman, identified as a 20-year-old Pennsylvania man named Thomas Matthew Crooks, who unleashed the attack with a rifle from the roof of a building about 150 yards away from the stage. Multiple investigations ensued, including one led by a bipartisan task force in the House, and Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned amid blowback for the security failures underlying the shooting in Pennsylvania. Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said they had confidence in the House task force’s members to “move quickly to find the facts, ensure accountability, and help make certain such failures never happen again.”

‘The People Deserve the Truth’: DeSantis Says Florida Will Investigate Trump Assassination Attempt

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Sunday the Sunshine state would conduct its own investigation into the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. “The State of Florida will be conducting its own investigation regarding the attempted assassination at Trump International Golf Club,” posted DeSantis, a Republican, on X. “The people deserve the truth about the would be assassin and how he was able to get within 500 yards of the former president and current GOP nominee.” Trump was golfing in West Palm Beach, Florida, when a pointed gun was spotted. “The FBI has responded to West Palm Beach, Florida and is investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination of former President Trump,” the FBI said in a statement Sunday afternoon. The New York Post, citing unnamed law enforcement sources, said the alleged gunman is Ryan Routh. “Routh, who has a lengthy criminal record from North Carolina, frequently posted about politics and exclusively donated to Democratic candidates and causes dating back to 2019. He also bashed Trump in an April 22 post on X in which he declared, ‘DEMOCRACY is on the ballot and we cannot lose,’” reported the Post. The Trump campaign put out a statement shortly after the shooting. “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear it first: I AM SAFE AND WELL,” his statement read. “Nothing will slow me down. I WILL NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again.” Jarrett Stepman contributed to this report. Cat Spotted on the Street Alone, Only 48 Hours After Being Taken in They Find Her with Kittens

A cat was spotted alone on the street. Just 48 hours after bringing her inside, they found her with a litter of kittens. Shannon and her kittensBestFriendsFelinesA beautiful calico cat was wandering the streets, alone with no home to go to. A Good Samaritan noticed her round belly and suspected she was pregnant. As they approached the cat, they realized how friendly she was and that she desperately needed safe shelter. "Thankfully, the kind-hearted stranger spotted her and brought her to one of our partner vets," Best Friends Felines shared. How she ended up outdoors remains a mystery. However, the sweet calico was happy to be found and grateful to be somewhere safe. She was found alone wandering the streetsBestFriendsFelinesWithout a microchip or anyone stepping forward to claim her, the cat named Shannon was welcomed into a foster home through Best Friends Felines. She wasted no time settling in, feeling at home almost instantly."She now has a warm, safe space to bring her babies into the world." BestFriendsFelinesShannon was incredibly affectionate with her caregivers, showering them with purrs and snuggles and exuding confidence and elegance.Just 48 hours after arrival, they walked into the room and were delighted by quite the surprise. Perhaps Shannon had been seeking the perfect place to give birth. As soon as she felt safe and cared for, she knew it was time. Just 48 hours after arriving, she went into laborBestFriendsFelinesShannon went into labor and delivered five happy and robust babies. They nursed contentedly, each with a hearty appetite for a newborn. "She had two tuxedos, two tabbies, and one stunning dark ginger and white, all weighing in at a very healthy 109-116 grams."The mama's trust in her people was evident from the very beginning. While she was having her first kitten, she decided to "scramble over to their lap to deliver." She gave birth to five kittensBestFriendsFelinesAfter her third kitten was born, she returned to her birthing suite, allowing her humans to help clean and warm her babies, trusting them to handle the task with care. She seemed relieved to have someone by her side, supporting her as she delivered her last litter. BestFriendsFelinesAll five kittens had a wonderful start to life, surrounded by cozy blankets, their mom's unconditional love, and the gentle hands of those who cared for them. "Shannon is attentive, loving, and never leaves their side.""The babies are latching perfectly, have gained weight, and are already showing off their healthy lungs and determined wriggles." They are getting bigger, stronger, and more active each dayBestFriendsFelinesAt a few days old, the five bundles of joy are becoming more active, moving around, and growing stronger with each passing day. Shannon keeps a watchful eye on them even when she's taking a break. As soon as they make a peep, she rushes back to the nest and tends to their every whim. BestFriendsFelinesIt will take another week before their peepers start to open. Once the kittens discover there's a whole world beyond their nest, one by one, their curiosity will drive them out of bed, ready for the many adventures that await. For now, Mama Shannon ensures her babies have full bellies and clean coats, all while smothering them with love and cuddles. BestFriendsFelines"Once she's finished her motherly duties in a few weeks, she'll be ready to find her forever home."Thanks to the kind stranger, Shannon found a safe home just in time for her kittens. They are now thriving, their days filled with warmth, love, and joy. BestFriendsFelinesShare this story with your friends. MSNBC’s Frank Figliuzzi Echoes Obama ‘Bitter Clinger’ Rhetoric, Calls for Gun Ban

We do not yet have the details or motives behind the second attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, but the cable talking heads are already calling out for one of the preferred items on the left’s policy pu-pu platter: gun control. Watch as former Obama-era FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence and cuttent MSNBC Security Analyst Frank Figliuzzi says the line, calls for a gun grab, and spreads disinformation in the process: MSNBC's Frank Figluzzi channels Obama's "bitter clinger" rhetoric in calling for a gun grab on the heels of the Second Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump, spreads disinfo by claiming Florida is an open carry state. pic.twitter.com/HDTiTU6eoR — Jorge Bonilla (@BonillaJL) September 15, 2024 FRANK FIGLIUZZI: There's something much larger here that I’ve got to get off my chest which is, I think, quite obvious. Look. This is now a second attempt against a presidential nominee. We can’t protect our schools. We can’t predict- we can’t protect a Secret Service protectee. We’ve heard an acting Secret Service director, after the Butler, Pennsylvania attempt, say publicly they are challenged in open carry states with regard to open air events. Have we reached the place in our society where the guns that we seem to cling to, particularly assault rifles- in this case an AK-47, have prevented us from now protecting ourselves and even the most protected people in our country?  Of course, Florida is NOT an open carry state. But why let facts get in the way of some easy narrative? Figliuzzi is so committed to this idea that he even copycatted the god-king himself- echoing Obama's famous "bitter clingers" rhetoric to describe lawful gun owners. It is not surprising that the Regie Media’s secondary impulse, having already blamed Trump for this aborted assassination attempt, is to cry out for gun control. But it is no less disgusting.

Trump issues defiant statement after second assassination attempt: 'Nothing will slow me down'

Former President Donald Trump released a statement Sunday afternoon after a second assassination attempt was made on his life in just two months. 'Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again.' "There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!" said Trump in the statement. "Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!" he added. "I will always love you for supporting me."The Trump campaign had initially issued a brief statement confirming the shooting and saying Trump was uninjured. The former president reportedly told Sean Hannity that he was putting on the fifth hole at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, when shots rang out and the Secret Service tackled Trump to protect him. Early reports said that police recovered an AK-47 from the bushes outside of the golf course as well as a GoPro recording device. West Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said in a media briefing that law enforcement officers were able to catch a suspect based on a tip from a witness. “We are able to catch a witness that came to us and said, ‘Hey, I saw the guy running out of the bushes. He jumped into a black Nissan, and I took a picture of the vehicle and the tag,’ which was great,” Bradshaw explained.Online sleuths were able to track the apparent social media footprint of the alleged shooter, who was identified as Ryan Routh. The posts showed support for Ukraine against the Russian invasion as well as support for Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign and President Joe Biden. "Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again," the statement from Trump concluded. "May God bless you."Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. NASA strands astronauts at an astronomical cost

NASA strands astronauts at an astronomical cost

It’s lonely out in space. Two NASA astronauts have been stranded on the International Space Station since June 6, drawing attention from the international press, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and perhaps even some aliens. The astronauts originally traveled to space on the Boeing Starliner spacecraft’s first manned mission.Starliner landed safely back on Earth early on September 7. Just one problem: The astronauts weren’t on board. NASA deemed their return on the spacecraft too risky, leaving the astronauts stuck in space until 2025. NASA and Boeing must fully account for their failures and ensure this astro-catastrophe never happens again. It’s time for America’s space agency to do right by its astronauts and stop burning out the fuse of federal waste. From the start, Boeing’s Starliner has been plagued with problems. This maddening misadventure began in 2014 when the agency inked deals with Boeing and SpaceX to develop ships capable of bringing astronauts to orbit. NASA was understandably frustrated that taxpayers were paying the Russian Space Agency $86 million per ride to launch American crews into space and wanted more control over the process. NASA paid Boeing $4.2 billion compared to $2.6 billion for SpaceX. The agency justified paying Boeing’s premium with little more than nostalgia and close ties.Starliner’s maiden voyage was initially set for 2017, but engineering delays kept the ship grounded. When Starliner was finally “ready” for an unmanned flight in late 2019, a software error caused a faulty orbit, leading to mission failure. A 2021 reattempt was derailed by corroded valves, followed by parachute system issues, wiring problems, and more valve troubles that delayed crewed flights until 2024.Meanwhile, costs soared. Taxpayers shelled out an additional $600 million to Boeing for Starliner development, and Boeing spent $1.5 billion on its own cost overruns. Despite these setbacks, NASA has remained calm, even as taxpayers grow increasingly concerned. This fiasco is just a small part of NASA’s broader fiscal challenges. The Artemis III mission aims to bring humans to the moon for the first time since Apollo, and Artemis IV plans to transport astronauts to a new lunar space station. These missions do not come cheap. In a January testimony to Congress, NASA acting Inspector General George Scott estimated that the Artemis program’s total cost through 2025 could exceed $93 billion. This figure excludes tens of billions in research and development, plus any unforeseen costs related to the lunar space station.Space spending through 2030 will almost certainly surpass $100 billion, but clear estimates are scarce. As Scott notes, “decision-makers will have limited knowledge into the full scope of ... costs until an estimate is created.”Meanwhile, delays abound. In January, NASA leadership officially bumped the date of Artemis III from late 2025 to September 2026, citing technical and safety-related delays. The Government Accountability Office seems to expect further delays. According to a November report by the watchdog, “if development took as long as the average for NASA major projects, the Artemis III mission would likely occur in early 2027.”If anything, the project has been unusually slow. “Some flight tests have been delayed,” and “a significant amount of complex work remains.”If policymakers got their heads out of the clouds, they’d realize that robotic exploration can complete missions at a fraction of the time and cost required for manned exploration. Cambridge cosmology and astrophysics professor and royal astronomer Martin Rees rightly notes, “The practical case [for human spaceflight] gets weaker and weaker with every advance in robotics and miniaturization.” America’s space agency seems to agree: “Robots don't need to eat or sleep or go to the bathroom. They can survive in space for many years and can be left out there — no need for a return trip!”Robotic exploration is a far better alternative to stranding astronauts in space and exposing them to all sorts of deleterious health effects. It’s time for NASA to do right by its astronauts and stop burning out the fuse of federal waste.
