A man wearing a Palestinian pin was shot in Newton, Massachusetts Thursday evening after he charged across a street and tackled a pro-Israel veteran protester. In the next video, the man charges across the street through traffic and tackles the pro-Israel, Iraq War veteran, who was carrying an American flag during the protest. Seconds later, the veteran shot the man in the stomach during their tussle on the ground, another video angle shows. He then places the gun on the sidewalk behind him as bystanders try to break the two apart. After the altercation, the man who fired the gun told bystanders to call 911, and tended to wounds of the man who tackled him, a video shared with The Daily Wire shows. The Daily Wire has confirmed the identity of the non-Jewish veteran, who frequently joins these rallies, but is withholding his name to protect his privacy. Newton, a suburb of Boston and considered one of the most Jewish cities in the United States, with Jews comprising between 20-30% of the population, according to Forward. Aidin, a pro-Israel Iranian who runs the From Boston to Iran group an was present at the altercation, told The Daily Wire that he was not sure how the gun was discharged.  “I saw him bring his hand up to the veteran and I tried to go closer until I heard the shot fired.” “We’ve been to standouts like this often and nothing like this has ever happened,” he said, declining to give his last name. “I was shocked when the man ran across the street and had no idea why he would do that.” Aidin said he was not sure why the man charged the veteran instead of the other members of the group. The veteran’s fellow protesters say they were not aware he had a gun, but believe he was acting in self defense.  Eyewitnesses say the veteran was taken with police, and the man shot was taken away in an ambulance. Aidin said the police told him the person shot was in stable condition. The Newton Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but are reportedly investigating the incident.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a fierce opponent of former President Donald Trump, said on Thursday that Americans will be stunned by shocking failures that Senate investigators have uncovered about the Secret Service’s failure to protect Trump on July 13, 2024, when a would-be assassin nearly killed him at a political rally in Pennsylvania. Blumenthal made the remarks while talking to reporters after Acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe gave members new information during a closed-door meeting about the investigation into the assassination attempt. “I think the American people are going to be shocked, astonished, and appalled by what we will report to them about the failures by the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former president,” Blumenthal said. “But I think they also ought to be appalled and astonished by the failure of the Department of Homeland Security to be more forthcoming, to be as candid and frank as it should be to them in terms of providing information.” He said that investigators are pressing DHS to give them the full truth and to turn over all the documents that they have related to the matter. History was made the other day as the first civilian ever participated in the SpaceX space walk. The SpaceX Polaris Dawn crew began the first-ever commercial spacewalk early on Thursday, and the results were exciting. Billionaire Jarod Isaacman was one of the civilians on the mission who got to enjoy this incredible experience. Those crew members included engineer Sarah Gillis and billionaire/tech entrepreneur Jared Issacman. As well as, pilot Scott Poteet, and medical officer Anna Menon. Sarah and Jared physically left the SpaceX capsule and ventured out into the great galaxy beyond. However, the two who remained inside of the capsule were also suited up. PEOPLE explained why that is. It was because “the spaceship does not have an airlock, so the capsule had to be opened and depressurized for all.” The crew also “had their nitrogen removed from their blood in a process pre-takeoff” to “avoid decompression sickness.” Issamac got reflective on the SpaceX space walk. In the video, he can be heard saying, “Back at home, we all have a lot of work to do, but from here, it sure looks like a perfect world.” The video that Good Morning America shared on X (formerly Twitter) shows Issacman’s silhouette sticking out of the spacecraft as our beautiful blue planet looms behind him. An Incredible Partnership This private space mission had a partnership with Elon Musk’s SpaceX. Although “weeks of unfavorable weather” caused many delays, the aircraft finally took off. In addition to being the first time a civilian went into space, this mission was also the first time that the Space X extravehicular space suits have been tested in space. The video shares that the Space Company says on its website, “Building a base on the Moon and a city on Mars will require thousands of spacesuits; the development of this suit and the execution of the EVA will be important steps toward a scalable design for spacesuits on future long-duration missions.” This SpaceX space walk made history, and now scientists and civilians alike are excited to see what comes next.
