King Charles Goes Viral After Embracing Women’s Rugby Union Team After They Ask For Hug

King Charles III went viral when he embraced the New Zealand Women’s Rugby Union team after the girls asked for a hug during a reception at Buckingham Palace. On September 11, the king hosted a special reception in the Bow Room where he met the women’s rugby team, nicknamed the “Black Ferns,” ahead of their upcoming match against their English counterparts, the “Red Roses,” Newsweek reported. “We all wanted a hug, but only if that’s OK with you?” one person on the team asked Charles in a video posted on the team’s TikTok. In response, the King looked a bit surprised before he replied, “A hug? Why not!” In the video, we see the girls swarm the King as they cheer that he was open to the embrace. It is hard to determine after the hug who seemed more pleased — the members of the team or the royal head who had a huge grin on his face afterward. Each girl then got a hug from the King who weren’t in the group embrace. It also has more than 940,000 likes and nearly 7,000 comments, with many praising the royal’s friendly gesture. “That’s the biggest smile I’ve ever seen on him,” one person wrote. Another wrote, “He probably doesn’t get hugged or even touched often. Such a simple human gesture to a man that has everything and look at the smile on his face. Priceless.” “King Charles changing my mind on a daily,” the person added. The monarch, who is also King of New Zealand, has yet to visit the country since he ascended the throne following Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022. During Wednesday’s reception, the king told the team, “I’m extremely sorry I can’t come to New Zealand in later October—it’s on doctors’ orders.” “But I hope there will be another excuse [to visit the country] before too long,” he added. “In the meantime, give my love to New Zealand!” Related: Palace Announces Major Change In King Charles III Health Amid Cancer Battle

Tony Dungy hits NAACP for lying about abortion in fact-check during Trump Harris debate: 'Don't distort the facts'

Former NFL coach Tony Dungy fact-checked a message from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People during the presidential debate Tuesday. 'Talking about the law and people stating facts accurately.' Former President Donald Trump criticized Democrats for extremist policies on abortion during the debate when the NAACP issued a false fact-check. "For the record: You cannot have an abortion in the 9th month. You cannot have an abortion after birth. If we didn’t keep banning books, maybe we wouldn’t have to clear that up," the group posted on X with a hashtag for the debate. The tweet garnered more than 8 million views. Dungy, who is an outspoken Christian, criticized the NAACP and accused it of distorting the truth. "In Florida we will be voting on Amendment 4 this November that would take all limits off the timing of an abortion. If it passes we would become the 10th state where that type of late term abortion would be legal," Dungy tweeted. "Please don’t distort the facts to make a point," he added. When criticized for the message, Dungy offered a clarification. "Talking about the law and people stating facts accurately. Not talking about when or why abortions take place. Asking them not to misquote the facts just to make a point," he added. Trump referred in the debate to a 2019 statement made by a Democratic governor that killing a baby could be discussed by the mother and physicians even after it was delivered in some cases. The NAACP overstated its case by claiming no one can have an abortion in the ninth month, which is untrue in nine states and could become true in Florida if a bill is approved in November. Dungy had previously argued the pro-life case during the abortion debate in the 2020 election. "I would think it would be difficult for someone who believes that God sees us when we are in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16) to think that it is OK to choose not to bring that life to fruition," he wrote at the time.
