Trump Says ABC’s License Should Be Yanked Over Debate Moderators’ Performance

DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Wednesday that ABC’s license should be revoked over its alleged bias in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris during Tuesday night’s presidential debate. Trump told the co-hosts of “Fox & Friends” that ABC News debate moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis were “dishonest” for not correcting Harris’ false statements about the Charlottesville riot in 2017, his support for in vitro fertilization, and The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025. The former president said the two ABC debate moderators unfairly fact-checked him while allowing Harris to state false and misleading claims. “They’re dishonest and … I think ABC took a big hit last night,” Trump said. “I mean, to be honest, as a news organization, they have to be licensed to do it. They ought to take away their license for the way they did that.” [He explained his recent use of the word “bloodbath” to describe the eventual result of the Biden-Harris administration’s electric vehicle mandate on the auto industry.] “Everybody loved that term because as soon as they heard that word—it is kind of a vicious word,” Trump said. “But, referring to the economy … ‘bloodbath’ is the word I used, and it was fine in that context. They were trying to make it sound like it was a riot or something.” “IVF, I was a leader on IVF,” the former president said, referring to the debate topic of in vitro fertilization. “The IVF, which is in vitro fertilization, I was a leader on that. When I first heard about it, from the very beginning, I was one of the leaders on it and the Republican Party has been a leader on it.” Harris “was trying to say it was the opposite,” Trump said. “The whole thing about abortion, [Muir] said, it was incredible. I think he corrected me about six times, and each time I was right.” Trump Says ABC's License Should Be Yanked Over Debate Moderators' Performance pic.twitter.com/GRjWskZ7I3— Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) September 11, 2024 ABC News’ two debate moderators appeared to repeatedly fact-check Trump while allowing Harris to get away with false claims. Davis, for example, immediately pushed back against the former president as he said some Democratic states allow for late-term abortions and for babies to be killed after a botched abortion. Harris also falsely said that Trump plans to sign a national abortion ban if it reached his desk, though the former president has repeatedly spoken in opposition to such legislation. Muir and Davis did not correct the vice president. The moderators allowed Harris to falsely claim that Trump stated there were “very fine people” on both sides of the riot in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017. The liberal site Snopes rated the claim that the former president called neo-Nazis and white supremacists false in June, noting that he said those groups should be “condemned totally.” “[Harris] was using Charlottesville, and everybody, you take a look at [Fox News host] Laura Ingraham, she did it incredibly. [Ingraham] had it totally debunked; in fact, she gets angry when people hear about Charlottesville, when they use that,” Trump told “Fox & Friends.” “Because what they did is they stopped and they didn’t put the following sentence in. And when they put the last sentence in, when it’s all put together, what I said was absolutely perfect,” he said. “And ABC knew that, everybody knew that, frankly. I think they lost a lot of credibility.” The moderators did not fact-check Harris when she alleged that Trump “intends on implementing” The Heritage Foundation-led Project 2025, a conservative policy outline and personnel list to help serve the next Republican president. The Trump campaign has publicly disassociated itself from the initiative. Muir and Davis also fact-checked Trump when he claimed that Haitian migrants are eating pet cats and ducks in Springfield, Ohio, by stating that local police said they have not received any credible reports on the matter. Sen. Ron Johnson: Why Won’t Wisconsin Clear 4 Million Ineligible Names From Voter Rolls?

One of the most fiercely contested battlegrounds in this fall’s presidential race won’t remove more than 4 million ineligible names from its voter rolls.  “Wisconsin’s population is a little less than 6 million, with 3.5 million active voters,” Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told The Daily Signal in a written statement. “So why do election officials refuse to clean up Wisconsin’s voter rolls and [instead] allow up to 4.1 million inactive voters to remain, with the potential for fraudulently using those names?” Although Johnson and some other lawmakers contend that unpruned voter rolls create election security holes, the Wisconsin Elections Commission contends that it ensures proper recordkeeping and prevents fraud.  A website of the Wisconsin Elections Commission called Badger Voters numbers “all voters” in the state at 7.7 million. That’s a total of 3.5 million active voters and 4.19 million inactive voters.  Voters listed as “inactive” aren’t eligible to vote in Wisconsin. Residents who haven’t voted for four years and failed to respond to repeated notices from election officials are moved to the inactive list.  But Wisconsin keeps the names on the voter rolls, in contrast to many other states that delete ineligible names. If ineligible names were just deleted, the Wisconsin Elections Commission contends, “There would be no registration history, no participation history, and most importantly, no history of why a record became ineligible.”   But lawmakers contend that keeping the ineligible names on the rolls creates vulnerabilities.  Earlier this year, the former deputy director of the Milwaukee County Election Commission was sentenced to one year of probation and a $3,000 fine after she was convicted of charges in October 2022 that she obtained three absentee ballots and used fake names and Social Security numbers, The Associated Press reported.  The criminal complaint said she used her work-issued computer to obtain three military absentee ballots using fake names and Social Security numbers. Claiming she was trying to make a point,  she sent the phony ballots to a Republican state representative. “In Milwaukee County, an election official created voters but the Wisconsin Elections Commission says they have to keep those names on their list as inactive for metadata with an explanation of why they are inactive,” state Rep. Scott Krug, chairman of the House Campaign and Elections Committee, told The Daily Signal. “They aren’t even real people, but the WEC won’t take anyone off the voter rolls.” Krug said state courts have sided with the election commission in the past. “There has been a conflict over this for a few years about whether we as legislators can order the ineligible names to be removed,” Krug said. “Courts have said we cannot force the removal and it is at the discretion of the WEC.” The Wisconsin Elections Commission referred The Daily Signal to its previous statements on the matter.  “There are two big reasons to retain the records of inactive, or ineligible, voters. First and foremost is that the law requires it. The retention of public records is essential to the maintenance of an open and transparent government,” the commission’s website says.  The commission says the second reason is that “to retain ineligible voter records is to safeguard against fraud.” “The retention of voter history does not make it any easier to commit election fraud. It is no more difficult or easy to change a voter record than it is to create one from scratch. Instead, the retention of historical data helps to safeguard against abuse of the system,” the Wisconsin Elections Commission contends. “If ineligible records were destroyed, the state of Wisconsin would have no voting history. There would be no registration history, no participation history, and most importantly, no history of why a record became ineligible.”   The Associated Press has noted that if a voter’s address has changed, “Wisconsin voters can register online, by mail, in person at their local clerk’s office, or at the polls on the day of an election.” The state has strong voter ID laws, which could counter these electron threats, noted Annette Olson, CEO of MacIver Institute, a Wisconsin think tank. “The Wisconsin Elections Commission will not remove any of those names,” Olson told The Daily Signal. “There are people who are made up that are still on the voter rolls. They are not real. … As long as the [election] clerks enforce the voter ID laws, we should be in good hands.” The post Sen. Ron Johnson: Why Won’t Wisconsin Clear 4 Million Ineligible Names From Voter Rolls? appeared first on The Daily Signal.

ON NOTICE: Jordan Investigates Potential Conflict of Interest Between Google Lawyer and Harris

The head of the House Judiciary Committee is investigating a potentially major conflict of interest between a lead defense attorney for censorship giant Google and Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), wrote a scathing Sept. 10 letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland as part of his ongoing investigation into the extent to which the Biden-Harris administration “coerced or colluded” with Big Tech to censor Americans. Jordan specifically called for an explanation as to why the lead for Google’s defense team Karen Dunn was reportedly prepping Harris for her debate with former President Donald Trump while simultaneously representing the Big Tech giant in the Department of Justice’s major antitrust lawsuit against it. The debate between Harris and Trump occurred Tuesday night on ABC News. As Jordan noted, “This apparent conflict of interest raises serious concerns about whether Dunn’s relationship with key figures in the Biden-Harris Administration creates a conflict of interest that could inappropriately bias the Department’s approach in United States v. Google LLC.”  Jordan wrote that Attorney General Garland pledged to “‘guarantee[] the independence of the Department from partisan influence.’” But the congressman added that his promise “is hard to square with reporting that Ms. Dunn is leading debate preparations for Vice President Harris while she also leads Google’s defense against a Biden-Harris Administration lawsuit.” Jordan asked for a briefing to occur no later than Sept. 24, 2024, adding that his concern stems from House oversight on “civil liberties” and antitrust issues. The Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government in particular is specifically authorized, Jordan ended, to investigate “issues related to the violation of the civil liberties of citizens of the United States.” MRC revealed in multiple exclusive studies how Google’s search engine consistently suppressedwebsites for GOP presidential candidates, including Donald Trump, and promoted Harris, even when users searched for Trump. Dunn did not respond to MRC Free Speech America’s request for comment or reactions to Jordan’s letter. Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives. How scratches on a teen boy led to teacher being convicted of felony sexual contact with student

The latest teacher sex scandal involves a former Missouri teacher who pleaded guilty to a child sex crime Friday. As Blaze News reported in January, Hailey Clifton-Carmack was arrested in Garden Ridge, Texas, and then extradited to Missouri and charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree statutory rape, having sexual contact with a student, fourth-degree child molestation, and seven counts of misdemeanor furnishing pornographic material to a minor. The victim told a fellow student that 'he was the reason' his teacher’s 'divorce was pushed through,' according to the student informant. Clifton-Carmack reportedly accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to felony sexual contact with a student. The former teacher will be sentenced Oct. 11. Clifton-Carmack had been a teacher at Laquey (Missouri) High School, and according to court documents, she often would wear "tight or low-cut shirts" and inappropriate leggings that would "show off her body."A student told Pulaski County (Missouri) Detective Sergeant Bryan Gibbs that Clifton-Carmack “has openly discussed her personal life with the class."The school reportedly reprimanded the teacher for being "too close with students."A Laquey school resource officer informed the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department about a possible inappropriate sexual relationship between a teacher and a student. A 16-year-old boy allegedly showed another student photos of scratches on his back. The victim said the teacher left the markings after the two had sex in the driveway of another student's home, according to the probable cause statement obtained by People magazine. Investigators searched the teacher's phone and found “a conversation between her and the confidential victim discussing their relationship,” according to court docs. The victim told a fellow student that "he was the reason" his teacher’s “divorce was pushed through,” according to the student informant. People magazine reported that Clifton-Carmack’s husband filed for divorce from her in August 2023. The couple — who have a child together — were divorced in September 2023, according to a judgment and decree of their dissolution of marriage. An anonymous witness told police she confronted the teen’s father about the child sex abuse. The witness allegedly told the father that she was going to report the abuse, and the father purportedly responded: “They are going to do it behind my back so I may as well let it happen.”The teen’s father was charged with child endangerment in January.Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney Kevin S. Hillman said the father's case is “on hold” until the teacher is sentenced “as he has agreed to assist the state and testify if needed.”Like Blaze News? 'We will never reach Mars if Kamala wins': Elon Musk throws more support behind Trump

SpaceX owner Elon Musk criticized Vice President Kamala Harris and noted that she didn't support a government efficiency commission. The entrepreneur said very early on September 11 that unless there is "significant government reform," laws and regulations will get worse every year until innovation is "effectively illegal."Musk listed "great endeavors" such as "high-speed rail" between cities and "making life multiplanetary."Trump recently announced that if re-elected, he would appoint Musk to head up a government efficiency task force, which appeared to involve an audit of the entire government in terms of regulation.Musk would perform a “complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government,” Trump said at an event in New York. This would also involve Musk making recommendations for "drastic reforms.""Trump supports a government efficiency commission to allow great things to be done, Kamala does not," Musk added. "We will never reach Mars if Kamala wins." — (@) 'If Kamala can do great things, why hasn't she?'Musk also critiqued the presidential debate between Trump and Harris, noting that Harris "exceeded most people's expectations" despite feeling that the debate hosts were unfair to the former president. The billionaire also said however that Harris would not do as good of a job as Trump, beside "saying nice-sounding words."Musk asked, "If Kamala can do great things, why hasn't she? Biden rarely shows up for work, so she's basically in charge already. The question comes down to this: do you want current trends to continue for 4 more years or do you want change?" — (@) As for SpaceX, Musk recently said he planned for a new mission to Mars in 2026 "with the goal of building a self-sustaining city in about 20 years."His plan is to send an uncrewed spacecraft to test the reliability of landing on Mars. If all goes well, the first manned missions would be around 2028. — (@) Musk's Dragon Crew-9 was recently tasked with retrieving Boeing astronauts stranded at the International Space Station since August. SpaceX's retrieval of the two astronauts will extend their mission in outer space from approximately two weeks to at least eight months. The X owner is also entrenched in a free speech battle in Brazil, where a judge has ordered the platform to close down for defying his court order. The attack from the South American state continues a long-fought battle between Musk and hostile governments. From Ukraine to mainstream Democrats, Musk has faced continuous pressure to limit free speech on his platform. Read more about his pursuit of American excellence here.Like Blaze News? Caitlin Clark drops strong hint on her political leanings after Taylor Swift endorses Kamala Harris

Celebrity political endorsements made headlines after the presidential debate when two female stars made their preferences known.Pop superstar Taylor Swift issued a statement endorsing Democratic candidate Kamala Harris on social media after the debate and that was followed by a "like" from WNBA star Caitlin Clark. 'I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice.' Swift cited abortion rights, IVF, and LGBTQ rights as the issues that made her endorse the Democrat in the presidential election. "I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos," she wrote on Instagram. "I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice," she concluded. "Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make." She signed the message describing herself as a "childless cat lady" in reference to the comments made by Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance about liberal voters. Among the millions who "liked" Swift's post was Clark, who had previously not been public about her political leanings. Other female celebrities who supported the Harris endorsement included Bette Midler, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, and Reese Witherspoon. 'She will probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.' Trump was asked about Swift's endorsement while appearing on Fox News, and he said he preferred the endorsement of Brittany Mahomes, the wife of NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes. “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth. She is a big Trump fan. I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time. She couldn’t, you couldn’t possibly endorse Biden," said Trump. "You look at Biden. You couldn’t possibly endorse him. But she is a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. She will probably pay a price for it in the marketplace," he warned. "But no. I like Brittany. I think Brittany is great. She got a lot of news last week. She’s a big MAGA fan. That’s the one I like more than Taylor Swift.”Like Blaze News?
