A Cuban national who has been accused of murdering a woman in Tennessee was reportedly released into the country by the Biden administration last year, according to a new report.  NewsNation reported Tuesday that 41-year-old Dayren Roque Lopez, who is suspected of murdering 25-year-old Dayana Garcia, was released into the United States in San Ysidro, California, in August 2023 using the Biden administration’s Customs and Border Protection One app. The app allows people seeking entry into the U.S. expedited processing and gives them a court date to hear their asylum claim.  Lopez was arrested in Zavala County, Texas, on Monday after he was accused of murdering Garcia in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was caught almost 30 miles away from the Texas/Mexico border, according to police.  Lopez had work authorization in the United States and was set to have a hearing on his immigration status in Memphis in November, according to NewsNation.  Cleveland Police said that they were working with Texas Rangers to bring Lopez back to Tennessee to face first-degree murder charges. The suspect reportedly was arrested on domestic charges in February but was not convicted.  Cleveland Police Chief Mark Gibson said that the circumstances around Garcia’s death were still under investigation, and officials were not ready to release the cause of death to the public.  “We have been in contact with her family, and I’m sure we’ll start finding out a lot more information about her as time goes,” he said.  Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said the incident exemplifies the Biden-Harris administration’s failed immigration policies.  “The accused murderer of a 25-year-old woman in Cleveland, Tennessee, is an illegal alien, someone who came in this country on the CBP One App,” she said. “You’ve heard me talk about this because it is another of those components that the Biden-Harris administration is using trying to make illegal aliens legal. This absolutely has to stop. This is why it is imperative that we close the border.” Thousands of foreign nationals have been released into the U.S. through the CBP One app, which allows foreign nationals to schedule appointments to apply for asylum at ports of entry.

During that debate, Biden argued that gun buybacks could not be enacted via executive order. Democrat lawmakers have repeatedly expressed support for laws that would allow abortionists to end the lives of babies who survive abortions — and voted against laws that protect babies who survive abortions.   That’s a fact that former President Donald Trump highlighted during Tuesday night’s debate, drawing the annoyance of Vice President Kamala Harris and the admonishment of debate moderator Linsey Davis.  “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it is born,” Davis said Tuesday evening, as Trump argued that some Democrats support executing babies after birth.  Trump was referring to 2019 comments made by former Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, a Democrat, as he discussed Democrat Virginia state Rep. Kathy Tran’s House Bill 2491.  “If a mother is in labor…the infant would be delivered,” Northam explained. “The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated, if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and mother.” Northam did not specify what would happen next, after this discussion.  He continued then: “So I think this is really blown out of proportion. The only Democrat to vote for the bill was Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas. That legislation would have required the health care professional attending the abortion “exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as a reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age.” Harris — who shook her head at Trump on Tuesday night and indicated he was lying as he discussed Democratic abortion extremism — voted against the Born Alive Infant Survivors Protection Act in 2020.  Theoretically, babies who are born alive are protected by federal law under the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, signed into law in 2002 by President George W. Bush.  But that federal legislation does not penalize doctors who fail to provide appropriate care for babies who survive abortions. It merely states that a child born through a botched abortion counts as a person, as National Review’s John McCormack reports.  Babies are also protected under federal law by the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003, also signed by Bush.  Under that 2003 law, a partial-birth abortion is defined as one in which a doctor kills a partially delivered, living baby after he “deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living fetus until, in the case of a head-first presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the mother’s body, or, in the case of a breech presentation, any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is outside the mother’s body.” Abortionist Kermit Gosnell was infamously accused of snipping the necks of living babies, some older than 24 weeks, with scissors when those babies were partially outside the womb. Gosnell was ultimately convicted of murdering victims named Baby A, Baby B, and Baby C, after trying to argue the babies were already dead when he snipped their necks. He was given three life sentences. When it comes to born-alive babies or partial-birth abortions, often there are only one or two people who actually witness what happens — and sometimes, the only person who knows how that baby died is the abortionist himself.  Most States Refuse To Share How Many Babies Survive Abortions Given the controversial nature of abortion in the United States, it would seem that Americans should have access to quality reporting and statistics on the topic. But only eight states publicly report or respond to requests for statistics on babies who were born alive during abortion procedures, according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute.  The states are Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Texas.  A Daily Wire review found that most of these states are not transparent with their reporting on whether the babies were given care after they were born alive through botched abortions. Minnesota appears to be the only state providing reasons — and Tim Walz, the state’s governor, did away with the state’s reporting requirement in May 2023. Arizona In Arizona (where 11,530 babies were aborted in 2022) the state department of health reported that seven “abortion reports involving” a baby delivered alive “were submitted” to the Arizona Department of Health “along with the physician’s statement documenting the measures taken to preserve the life of the fetus or embryo.” The Arizona Department of Health did not immediately respond with more information clarifying what steps were taken to preserve the lives of these seven babies.  Arkansas In Arkansas (where 1,621 abortions were reported in 2022) no babies survived abortions in 2022. The Arkansas Department of Health did not immediately respond to The Daily Wire’s request for comment on what steps it takes to ensure that doctors are providing care to babies who do survive.  Florida In Florida (where 84,000 abortions were reported in 2023) 14 babies are reported to have survived abortions in 2023, while 16 babies survived abortions in 2022, according to data from the state’s Agency for Health Care Administration. The agency did not immediately respond to a request for comment.  Indiana In Indiana (where the state reported 4,673 abortions) one baby was reported born alive during an abortion in 2023, recorded by the Indiana Department of Health as “failure to terminate the pregnancy.” The Indiana Department of Health did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Wire.  Michigan  In Michigan (where 31,241 babies were aborted in 2023) 122 babies survived abortions in 2023, according to the state’s department of health, which categorizes this survival as a “failed abortion,” “an abortion attempt that results in an ongoing pregnancy after an attempt at either surgical or medical abortion.” The Michigan Department of Health did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It also notes that “in recent years, the number of failed abortions grew to be the most common subsequent complication reported.”  Texas In Texas, the state department of health reported two instances where physicians reported “failure to terminate the pregnancy” between January and April of 2024, and in 2023, the state reported 11 babies who survived abortions.  The state doesn’t provide more information on what happened to those babies, and it is unclear how many babies were aborted in 2023 and 2024 thus far: in 2022, the state reported 22,232 Texas abortions. The Texas Department of Health did not immediately respond to a request for comment.  Oklahoma In Oklahoma, where the state department of health reported 5,950 abortions in 2021, no babies were reported born alive that year.  Minnesota In Minnesota, where Harris’s vice presidential pick, Tim Walz, serves as governor, Minnesota Department of Health data shows that at least eight babies who survived abortions were left to die.  Minnesota law formerly required the state to report whether abortions resulted in the live birth of a baby, what steps physicians took to preserve that baby’s life, and whether the baby survived.  Though Walz eliminated the law in May 2023, the state’s old data shows that there were five abortions resulting in a live baby birth between Jan. 1, 2021, and Dec. 31, 2021.  No efforts were spent preserving the life of the first baby, who reportedly had “fetal anomalies” but also had “residual cardiac activity” for two minutes. “The infant did not survive,” the Minnesota Department of Health data shows.  The second and third babies died while they were given “comfort care measures,” the data shows. No efforts were spent saving the lives of the fourth and fifth babies, who were reportedly previable.  Minnesota appears to be one of the only states that actually discloses at least minimal steps that were taken to preserve the life of the baby — or whether any were taken at all.  Nine States And D.C. Allow Abortion At Any Time, For Any Reason  In Alaska, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington, D.C., abortions are permitted at any time, and for any reason, according to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute.  None of these states have any protections for babies born alive in botched abortions, according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, which notes that “some states like New York and Illinois have even enacted laws that eliminated previous protections for babies born alive.” In Washington, D.C., an undercover pro-life activist recorded abortionist Cesare Santangelo in 2012 allegedly discussing how he would allow babies to die if they were accidentally born alive in an abortion.  Pro-life activists alleged again in 2022 that the premie-sized aborted baby bodies they had recovered from his abortion clinic were signs that Santangelo had been illegally aborting babies in the nation’s capital.  Because D.C. has no laws restricting abortion, D.C. police said the babies were “aborted in accordance with D.C. law” — and authorities have refused to autopsy the babies for years, though they have become relevant to DOJ Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act cases against pro-life activists.  In another undercover video taken by pro-life activist David Daleiden, former medical director of Planned Parenthood of Arizona DeShawn Taylor allegedly says:  “You need to pay attention to who’s in the room” when asked, “Is there any standard procedure for verifying signs of life?”  WATCH: 

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) backed off plans for a vote Wednesday on a short-term spending measure combined with reforms meant to help ensure non-citizens are not voting in federal elections, but he committed to “consensus building” in the GOP-led House through the weekend. Leading congressional Democrats, the White House, and even some Republicans have voiced opposition to the proposal, which would provide funding for the federal government for six months — through March 28 — in addition to instituting the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. A government shutdown could happen next month if a deal to fund the various federal agencies is not reached by the end of September, as lawmakers have been unable to pass a full slate of appropriations bills to cover the entire 2025 fiscal year. Still, Johnson voiced confidence in charting the course ahead. “No vote today, because we’re in the consensus building business here in Congress with small majorities,” Johnson told reporters at the U.S. Capitol. “That’s what you do. That’s what I’ve been doing since I became speaker. We’re having thoughtful conversations — family conversations within the Republican conference, and I believe we’ll get there. So people have concerns about all sorts of things. Critics argue the bill is unnecessary and would create an undue burden on legitimate voters, but a report from Johnson warned of a National Voter Registration Act “loophole” in which states do not ask for proof of citizenship when registering an individual to vote in federal elections and cited evidence of non-citizens appearing on voter rolls in places such as Massachusetts, Ohio, and Virginia. Several Republicans in the House have signaled dismay with the GOP plan, with some being turned off by the idea of stop-gap spending bill, defense hawks fretting a “negative impact” on the Pentagon, and others not liking the idea of the SAVE Act being included, according to POLITICO. A shorter continuing resolution without the SAVE Act might have better odds. Axios reported Democrats and the White House prefer a three-month spending measure, which would lead to a December lame-duck session on government funding. President Joe Biden has threatened to veto the House GOP’s combination proposal, while former President Donald Trump urged Republicans to allow a shutdown to happen if they cannot secure a short-term spending measure in addition to “election security” reforms he has long demanded. Johnson said on Wednesday the “American people demand and deserve that we do everything possible to secure the elections … That’s what I’ve heard from the people across the country in 198 cities across 39 states. It’s consistent from coast to coast, north to south. We’re going to continue to work on this. The whip is going to do the hard work to build consensus. We’re going to work through the weekend on that. And I want any member of Congress in either party to explain to the American people why we should not ensure that only U.S. citizens are voting in U.S. elections. We’re going to work on that issue around the clock, because we have an obligation to the people to do it, and that’s what the fight is. That’s what’s important. It’s the most pressing issue right now, and we’re going to get this job done.”

It was just a few months ago that police in Chicago attempted to pull over a man named Dexter Reed for driving with illegally tinted windows. I talked about this incident on the show at the time, when the media was trying to turn Reed into the next George Floyd. As soon as the traffic stop began, Reed began acting suspiciously. He repeatedly refused officers’ commands to lower his window so they could see what was going on inside his car. Then he raised the tinted window to completely obstruct the officers’ view of the inside of the vehicle. And then, within seconds, Dexter Reed opened fire. Police officers train on footage like this all the time. There are hundreds of videos like it all over the internet. And they all tell the same story, which is this: When the police pull someone over, and that person attempts to hide what he’s doing, then the situation has just become extremely dangerous. All traffic stops involve some level of risk. But when someone rolls up a tinted window instead of complying, that risk gets exponentially higher. That’s especially true when the suspect has a criminal history. So police have no choice but to respond quickly and decisively, and potentially with force, because they’re in a life-threatening situation. Otherwise, they might get shot and killed before they can even see what’s coming. As I said at the time, there was an attempt to portray Dexter Reed as some kind of BLM martyr. But it fell apart the moment this footage was released. Everyone understood why the officers drew their weapons. Everyone understood that Reed had put the officers in fear for their lives, even before he started shooting. The entire media-driven narrative — that Dexter Reed was an oppressed victim of police brutality — fell apart. And no one spoke of it again. WATCH: THE MATT WALSH SHOW But there’s always someone waiting in the wings to claim that mantle of oppression, especially in an election year. And this week, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is going for it — even though his traffic stop, in many ways, has a lot of similarities to Dexter Reed’s. Tyreek Hill, like Dexter Reed, was pulled over for a lawful reason. In Tyreek Hill’s case, he was speeding near the Hard Rock Stadium, where the Dolphins play. That’s all caught on camera. And like Dexter Reed, Tyreek Hill also had an existing criminal record at the time of his stop, although the officers probably weren’t aware of that. In Hill’s case, that record included a prior guilty plea for serious offenses — including domestic assault and battery by strangulation. And then, when he was pulled over, Tyreek Hill, like Dexter Reed, refused lawful orders to lower his tinted window. Instead, he started raising the window in clear defiance of the officers. They responded aggressively to his belligerence. Then, Tyreek Hill refused to sit on the curb as instructed, saying he had just had surgery, so he can’t sit down. He can play in a professional football game a few hours later and score a touchdown, but he can’t possibly sit down. That’s just asking too much. So the officer again used some force, this time to put him on the curb. The officers also detained one of Hill’s teammates, Calais Campbell, after he approached the scene in the middle of the road. Ultimately the authorities cited Hill for reckless driving but didn’t arrest him. They also didn’t charge him for obstructing an officer, which is a misdemeanor in Florida punishable by up to a year in prison. Speaking to reporters, Hill claimed he had “no idea” why he was placed in handcuffs. “No idea. It’s crazy. No idea. I wasn’t disrespectful because my mom didn’t raise me that way. Didn’t cuss. Did none of that. I’m still trying to figure it out… Don’t be disrespectful.” Of course, the truth is that Hill could have avoided all of this by acting like an adult rather than a spoiled toddler. He knows that. Everyone watching the video knows that. But the media and the Left are pretending otherwise. They’re completely ignoring the evidence and running with the same narrative we’ve seen a million times before, even if the facts don’t remotely fit. Over on ESPN for example, they’re acting as if Tyreek Hill was just killed. They’re mourning him as if he died, by comparing him to a bunch of other BLM martyrs. That’s not to relitigate all of those cases — all of which the media lied about to one degree or another. It’s just a fact. This guy is comparing several dead people to Tyreek Hill, who in fact is not dead. Tyreek Hill is very much alive. He’s still earning $30 million a year. He’s still a famous celebrity. What happened to Hill is that on Sunday, he endured a minor inconvenience that was entirely attributable to his own actions. This was such a minor inconvenience that he was able to play in a football game afterwards and mock the whole situation with a celebration after he scored a touchdown. All of this fake hysteria is intended to obscure an obvious point, which is that Hill — like so many other BLM heroes — didn’t comply with lawful orders that were given by police officers. He put them in a dangerous situation as a result. And he suffered the predictable consequences of that decision. When the outraged ESPN personality says he’s “frustrated” that the country hasn’t “reckoned with race,” what he’s really saying is that black people should be able to do whatever they want when the police pull them over. They should be able to put the police in danger, apparently. Or maybe that’s only the case if they’re driving expensive cars, like Tyreek Hill was. Maybe the law just doesn’t apply to football players. That’s the position of Tyreek Hill’s team, the Miami Dolphins. In a statement, the team said they “urge” the police department “to take swift and strong action against the officers who engaged in such despicable behavior.” The team didn’t even mention Tyreek Hill’s decision to put people in danger by driving recklessly on the way to the stadium. They didn’t mention that he disobeyed the officers’ commands. They pretend as if the officers had no reason whatsoever to treat Hill like a potential threat to their lives. This is the lose-lose situation that cops are in. If they do anything to protect themselves, those cops are “despicable.” Meanwhile, the brain trust of former athletes over on FS1 took the melodrama up ten more notches. Now they’re paid millions to talk about playing a game. But that doesn’t make them any less oppressed. You tell them if the cops are there, get to some light? Have you considered telling them to comply with lawful commands? Have you thought about that? Why don’t you tell your kids to simply comply with lawful orders given by officers of the law? If they do that, then everything will be fine. We’re told that black men are afraid of the cops. They’re terrified that they’re going to be executed on the spot. Tyreek Hill was afraid, allegedly. Well if that’s the case, why are you going out of your way to antagonize them? Why are you doing everything in your power to make your interactions with the police as stressful and contentious as possible? When I see videos like the one with Tyreek Hill — or any of the footage of any BLM martyr — I do not see black men who are afraid of the cops. I see black men who completely disregard the cops and act as though they are above the law and impervious to the basic rules and standards of conduct that govern the rest of us. If you’re afraid for your life while dealing with the cops, why would you roll up a tinted window? How is that going to make you safer? How is that going to make the situation LESS volatile? You are making it more volatile. You are directly, actively, making it into a more volatile situation. But this does not occur to these kind of commentators. We can’t blame them for that. They’re emotional. They had to overcome the trauma of talking about a football player’s briefly unpleasant interaction with the police. They somehow had to soldier through and find a way to keep talking about football. It’s painful, you see. It’s painful to think about the minor inconvenience that a millionaire football player experienced. A minor inconvenience of his own making. They are shaken up. They are barely able to hold it together. For his part, the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Mike McDaniel, was even more hysterical than the sports commentators. He appeared to be choking back tears as he said he couldn’t imagine what it’s like to be as oppressed as Tyreek Hill is. It just wouldn’t have been possible for a theater kid to get a job like this. But here we are. Mike McDaniel is “triggered.” It really messes him up, to not know “what it feels like” to be Tyreek Hill. He’ll never be able to experience that level of oppression. But the coach could find out pretty easily. He could start driving his sports car, as recklessly as possible, around slow-moving traffic. And when he gets pulled over, he can roll up his tinted windows and dare the cops to do something about it. Very quickly, Mike McDaniel will experience something similar to what Tyreek Hill experienced on Sunday. And if that happens, Mike McDaniel would deserve to be forcibly removed from his car and treated like a threat, just like Tyreek Hill was. Predictably, no one in the corporate press wants to point this out. Instead, they’re affirming Tyreek Hill’s story of racial grievance at every opportunity. Here’s CNN for example. Watch as they allow Tyreek Hill to claim — without any pushback — that, if he weren’t a football player, the police officers would have executed him on the side of the road. According to Hill, the police knew he was a famous NFL player, with a very high profile. So they knew they had to be on their best behavior. That’s why they decided not to just shoot him outside the stadium. That’s what the police supposedly do to every other black person, but they don’t do it to NFL players. At the same time, according to Tyreek Hill, these same police officers didn’t have any problem risking their entire career just to rough him up on camera for no reason. That’s the explanation that flies on CNN, apparently. But it doesn’t make any sense. What makes more sense is that the police did exactly what they were trained to do, which is to treat everyone who behaves like Hill did — regardless of how much money they have — as a potential threat. That’s especially true when, like Dexter Reed, they have a criminal record and start rolling up their tinted window instead of complying. The only way to explain the reaction from the corporate press, and the Miami Dolphins, is that these people really believe that a black man should be able to do or say literally anything he wants when confronted by police. Whatever happens will always be the cop’s fault, no matter what. The point is to absolve “people of color” of any blame. But the effect is that they’re infantilized. They’re treated like children incapable of controlling themselves. They’re given no incentive to improve their own behavior. Instead, they’re given more incentive to act like Tyreek Hill — with all the entitlement and hysteria that entails. We saw where that approach leads in 2020. It leads to police pulling out of black neighborhoods, and fewer people choosing to become police officers. And that, in turn, leads to a lot more black people dying. Narcissists like Tyreek Hill claim they’re afraid of that outcome. In reality, they’re doing everything they can to ensure it keeps happening.
