Pete Hegseth Faces Growing Opposition for Defense Secretary Role, Is DeSantis the Backup?

Pete Hegseth is under attack from the liberal smear machine. He’s President Donald Trump’s nominee for defense secretary and that seems to have upset some on the Left. Allegations of mistreatment are now starting to spread. Is Trump’s team planning on a replacement? Word spreading is there’s a list. And those on said list are: Sen. Joni Ernst Gov. Ron DeSantis and Rep. Mike Waltz. Is this just a wish list that the media crafted? Hoping to will it into existence? Senate Republicans are doing what they did to Gaetz right now and it seems like Trump will bend a knee to them, AGAIN. If he replaces Hegseth with DeSantis, it sets terrible precedent for what other issues he’ll roll over on down the line. Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE! pic.twitter.com/fl4kOqnCAx — Conservative (@ConservativeOG) December 4, 2024 ABC News reports: A growing number of senators have privately signaled that they are not inclined to vote to confirm Pete Hegseth as President-elect Donald Trump’s next defense secretary, leading Trump’s advisers to begin discussing who may be a viable replacement, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News. Sources tell ABC News that at least six senators have privately indicated that they don’t intend to vote for Hegseth amid the growing allegations about his mistreatment of women. While Trump and his advisers have privately said the president-elect backs Hegseth and wants him to “keep fighting,” sources familiar with private discussions tell ABC News that a growing list of replacements is emerging to replace him. Those include Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Tennessee Sen. Bill Hagerty and Florida Rep. Mike Waltz, whom Trump has already tapped to be national security adviser. Sources close to DeSantis say he has expressed interest in the role. NBC posted a story about Hegseth that is getting push back by his own coworkers: Update: Four more FOX employees say the NBC story about Pete Hegseth is false. pic.twitter.com/jenQeXdHEp — KanekoaTheGreat (@KanekoaTheGreat) December 4, 2024 As one person in the comments states, it does look like it’s a drip campaign against Hegseth. “They” are doing a classic drip campaign. Each day they “drip” a new fact/allegation/witness/story. Like a leaky faucet. Drip drip drip until they either pull the nom or he withdraws. Look at the media stories from the past week or two. There’s nothing “new” there. They’ve been… — John S McAfee (@JohnSMcAfee) December 4, 2024 Hegseth looks like a threat to the Establishment for sure. Especially the way they’re reacting to him. Here’s Hegseth telling Kirk Cameron how Obama corrupted the military: Pete Hegseth reveals how Obama politicized and weaponized the military. Thank God Trump will bring sanity back to our armed forces! pic.twitter.com/YY2bA4wRlL — David J Harris Jr (@DavidJHarrisJr) December 3, 2024

Hackers Target Trump’s FBI Nominee Kash Patel

Hackers Target Trump’s FBI Nominee Kash Patel

Kash Patel just got his communications hacked. And it’s alleged Iran-backed hackers. This was first reported by news website Semafor (founded by Ben Eli Smtih, previous editor of BuzzFeed News. Smith also published the Steele dossier, so we take this with a grain of salt.) While it’s unclear how far they got, or what data they might have taken. the timing raises eyebrows. This might be a good time for Patel to hit “update” on his passwords. Or start using whatever tech President Donald Trump is using. I’m sure his phones and computers are hacker-proof. BREAKING:IRANIAN HACK TARGETS TRUMP’S FBI PICK, KASH PATEL Kash Patel, Trump’s choice for FBI Director, was targeted by Iranian hackers, with some of his communications accessed. Trump transition spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer called Patel pivotal in countering Iran’s regime… pic.twitter.com/KQdWVrJ02k — Mario Nawfal (@MarioNawfal) December 4, 2024 CBS News reports: Kash Patel, President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to lead the FBI, was recently notified that he was the target of a potential Iran-backed cyberattack, two people familiar with the matter confirmed to CBS News. The apparent hackers targeted his communications, but whether they succeeded and how much access they had to the data is still being evaluated, the people said. The FBI declined to comment. CBS News had also reached out to the Trump transition team for comment. The news of Iran’s potential targeting of Patel was first reported by Semafor. This comes after months of warnings from the FBI and other federal agencies of Iranian cyber activity targeting Trump campaign staff leading up the 2024 presidential election. In September, Justice Department prosecutors charged three members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps with launching a broad hacking campaign against U.S. officials, including those close to Trump. Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s choice to lead the FBI, was recently notified by the agency that he was targeted in an Iranian cyberattack. The hackers reportedly accessed at least some of Patel’s communications. This comes amid a wave of cyberattacks targeting members… pic.twitter.com/jQCVSx1GqJ — Shadow of Ezra (@ShadowofEzra) December 4, 2024 Some have a theory about what’s really happening behind the scenes… Step 1: Announce Kash Patel has been hacked by Iran. Step 2: The FBI, who did the actually hacking, leaks the damaging stuff to the media. Step 3: The media runs with the smears and Republicans in the Senate use that as an excuse to reject Kash. https://t.co/3F6m4Vklq0 — Jesse Kelly (@JesseKellyDC) December 4, 2024   To those that are following Q drops, some find this interesting: Why are many Iranian resistance (Freedom Fighters) tagging #QAnon on Twitter? Big things coming folks. Signed by: Q+ Kashyap Patel – name to remember >>connected[10] between the drops #1481 Iran #1491 Kash https://t.co/XBjYuw1TTV pic.twitter.com/2Q6rjsqPTb — Queen B55 (@Oracle_Of_Qz) December 4, 2024

Betraying Pete Hegseth: Lindsey Graham Is Leading the Charge – Update

Correction: We accidentally said Gov. D Santis a good candidate, but we don’t think that. We like him, but he’s not a Trump supporter. Donald Trump is considering Gov. Ron DeSantis for Secretary of Defense. I have more faith in Pete Hegseth than the governor. Hopefully, Hegseth can weather the attacks. Ron DeSantis is not […] The post Betraying Pete Hegseth: Lindsey Graham Is Leading the Charge – Update appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

We See You, Mayor Adams, Deportations for a Pardon

New York Mayor Eric Adams is very transparent. Now that Donald Trump reached out to him at the Al Smith dinner, and the people voted against illegal migrants and will be in sore need of a pardon, he will cooperate in removing criminal migrants. Adams faces some serious federal charges. Cancel Me Adams “You know […] The post We See You, Mayor Adams, Deportations for a Pardon appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

CEO Of Massive Health Care Company Shot Dead In NYC: Reports

Brian Thompson, the 50-year-old CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was shot and killed in Midtown Manhattan early Wednesday morning, PIX 11 reported. The shooter is still at-large. Sources told the New York City television station that Thompson was shot near the Hilton hotel on 54th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police believe it was a targeted attack, according to the New York Times. The police report said the gunman was wearing a black face mask and fled on foot, heading east along 6th Avenue, the Times reported. Police sources told the New York Post that the masked man was waiting for Thompson before opening fire on him from 20 feet away — striking him multiple times — and then fleeing on a bike. The Post reported that the suspect is a white male. Thompson became the UnitedHealthcare CEO in 2021 after joining UnitedHealth Group in 2004, according to his company bio. UnitedHealthcare is a subsidy of UnitedHealth Group, one of the largest companies in the world. Thompson was in New York City for the UnitedHealth Group’s annual Investor Conference. According to PIX 11, a UnitedHealthcare official ended Wednesday’s conference two hours early, telling attendees, “We’re dealing with a very serious … situation. We’re going to have to bring to a close the event today. … I apologize for bringing things to a close but I hope you’ll understand.” BREAKING: United Health CEO Brian Thompson shot dead outside Manhattan Hilton hotel in New York City. pic.twitter.com/JopVdPV5dM — The General (@GeneralMCNews) December 4, 2024 CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “Prior to leading government programs, Brian served as chief executive officer of the Medicare & Retirement organization,” Thompson’s bio states. “Brian joined UnitedHealth Group in 2004 in corporate development working on mergers and acquisitions and since then has held numerous leadership positions including chief financial officer for UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual, Community & State and Medicare & Retirement.”

WATCH: Pentagon Nominee Pete Hegseth Reveals Details From Call With Trump, Says He Won’t Back Down

Trump Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth said on Wednesday morning that he has no plans to withdraw his name from consideration, revealing a recent call he had with President-elect Donald Trump. “I spoke to the President-elect this morning. He said keep going, keep fighting, find your own way,” Hegseth told reporters. Asked about withdrawing his name, the combat veteran responded, “Why would I back down? I’ve always been a fighter. I’m here for the warfighters. This is personal and passionate for me.” WATCH: The next Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth: “I spoke to the President-elect this morning. He said keep going, keep fighting… Why would I back down? I’ve always been a fighter. I’m here for the warfighters. This is personal & passionate for me.” ? pic.twitter.com/LJFXkTBq1q — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) December 4, 2024 Hegseth’s former colleagues at Fox News came to his defense on Tuesday evening after an NBC News report fueled by anonymous sources claimed Hegseth was routinely drunk on air. Fox News’ Will Cain, co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekend,” responded to the NBC article, “Your story is horses*** @NBCNews. Put my name on it. On the record. It’ll be your only on the record source. Signed, The guy who sat next to him for 8 hours every week for five years starting at 6 am.” Hegseth’s other former “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host, Rachel Campos-Duffy, issued a similar response. “The losers at @NBCNews never reached out to me either. @willcain is right – your story IS  horses***,” she wrote. “You now have 2 people who sat next to him 8+ hours a week on the record. Will you retract or correct your story?” It was uncovered last month that Hegseth was accused of sexual assault back in 2017. An unnamed woman claims Hegseth sexually assaulted her in a hotel room following a conservative conference. Hegseth said that the encounter was consensual, and police decided against any further action. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “It’s very simple,” Hegseth told the press. “The matter was fully investigated, and I was completely cleared, and that’s where I’m gonna leave it.” Notably, journalist and attorney Megyn Kelly went through the police report on her show and said that the accusation looks to be “bulls***” and stated that it appears the accuser “was not raped,” but panicked after her husband became suspicious that she cheated with Hegseth. Reports circulated Monday evening that Trump is weighing the option of Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis as a replacement Secretary of Defense nominee.
