Xreal’s new glasses are a surprisingly good TV for your face

The Xreal One. | Image: Xreal During a recent flight from Los Angeles to New York City, I put a headset on my face to watch a movie. I wasn’t wearing the Vision Pro or a Meta Quest. I was trying the latest pair of AR glasses from Xreal, a Chinese startup taking an unusually focused approach to face computers. To call the Xreal One, which is available for preorder starting on Wednesday for $499, a pair of AR glasses feels like a stretch. While they do technically overlay graphics onto your field of vision, they really just function as a display mirror for your phone, laptop, or gaming console. But given the display advancements in the One over Xreal’s last Air 2 glasses, that may be enough. The Xreal One uses a custom birdbath lens system to achieve what the company says is equivalent to a 1080p display with a 50-degree field of view. Practically, based on my experience watching Netflix’s Rebel Ridge from my plane seat (a very good movie), that translates to a fairly immersive viewing experience. It’s not like watching something in the Vision Pro. But the fact that I was wearing an 84-gram pair of glasses that didn’t fully occlude my vision more than made up for the difference. The only time I felt the... Read the full story at The Verge.

GM and EVgo now have over 2,000 EV charging stalls and counting

One of the co-branded GM Energy / EVgo fast chargers. | Image: General Motors General Motors and EV charging company EVgo announced that they’ve installed their 2,000th public EV charging stall, in Murrieta, California. With that, GM has met a deadline it set in September to have the bulk of its planned 2,850 DC fast-charging stalls set up by the end of this year. GM says the new station, which is near Interstate 215 in Riverside County, serves five 350kW fast chargers for as many as 10 EVs simultaneously. It doesn’t mention whether these are strictly CCS chargers or if they include Tesla’s NACS ports, which have emerged as the de facto standard over the last year and a half. We’ve asked GM for more information and will update if it responds. EVgo president Dennis Kish said that its relationship with GM has helped his company “bring public charging to communities in more than 30 states across the US,” and that the company is working toward deploying its “first flagship destinations next year.” GM said back in September that this network, which is distinct from another planned 2,000-strong network of DC fast chargers at Flying J and Pilot truck stops, will include 400 “flagship” gas station-style charging locations. Those will be built out in major metropolitan areas of states like Florida, California, Texas, and Michigan, the company said today. That’s all in addition to another EV charging network consortium called Ionna that GM is participating in along with car companies like Hyundai, Kia, BMW, and Stellantis.

The Best Chicken Spaghetti

The Best Chicken Spaghetti

The Best Chicken Spaghetti recipe calls for sliced grilled chicken, spaghetti noodles, cream of chicken, salsa, sour cream and cheese. A family favorite! FAMILY FAVORITE EASY DINNER RECIPE This recipe is one I’ve been meaning to share for a while but it needed some tweaking. The original recipe I had for it was, well, kinda bland. I know chicken spaghetti usually calls for Rotel but it doesn’t add much flavor in my opinion. So I switched it up for my favorite salsa and I think it made ALL the difference! I also use grilled chicken (store bought or freshly grilled can be used) and that took the flavor up another notch too. I think I have really created the best Chicken Spaghetti we’ve ever had, all while not making it too complicated to toss together! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: What makes this different from other chicken spaghetti recipes? I decided I would switch out the can of Rotel (which is basically tomatoes and green chiles that is in most recipes) and replace it with salsa. That really added some yummy flavors. I also think that bit of taco seasoning really creates a super flavorful dish! Can I use other pasta types? Angel hair pasta does not have to be used. You can use thin spaghetti or regular spaghetti or even fettuccine noodles. Although I haven’t personally tried it, I’ve had readers share that they have used spaghetti squash instead of traditional spaghetti and it turned out perfect. What shortcuts can I take to make this faster to put together? Save yourself some time by using precooked chicken. Whether it be rotisserie chicken or the cooked chicken that is sold in the deli department. This will make this meal come together easily! Can I make this in the Crock Pot instead? I have never tried it in a crock pot to be honest! Pasta can be really weird in a crock pot sometimes – ha! You could MAYBE try it like I do my crock pot spaghetti and meatballs but you have to had a lot of water for the pasta to cook properly and that might really water down the sauce for this. Or you could maybe put it in cooked, but again, the pasta will still want to absorb any liquid around it and it could turn gummy. If you try it, share how it turns out in the comments. Can I add more sauce? Sure, if you want even more creamy, cheesy, tasty sauce, add a little more sour cream and some of the water from the cooked pasta, just to make it very saucy! How do you store leftovers? Store them in a covered container in your fridge for up to 3 days. Can chicken spaghetti be frozen? Yep! It’s just important to cover it well to protect against freezer burn. It will freeze well for up to 3 months. INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE) angel hair pasta – I tend to like the thinner angel hair pasta for this but you can use your favorite pasta here like regular spaghetti or fettuccine or linguine. cooked chicken – a store-bought rotisserie chicken or the fully cooked grilled chicken you find in the refrigerator section all make this so easy to put together and adds flavor! cream of chicken soup – you can also use Cream of Mushroom or even make your own homemade cream of chicken soup. You could even use cream of celery soup if that is what you have on hand. salsa – my absolute favorite salsa is mild Herdez – it has the perfect flavor for this recipe but you can also use Rotel if that is what you prefer. I think salsa brings much more flavor though. sour cream – this is really going to add a lot of creaminess here. You could use plain Greek yogurt as well. Mexican cheese blend – I just pick up the store-bought pre shredded cheese but you can shred your own or use a different flavor blend. taco seasoning – you can use store-bought or make your own taco seasoning. HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN SPAGHETTI: Preheat oven to 350f degrees. Spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Cook pasta according to package directions (remember, you are only using half the box of pasta.) Once pasta is cooked, drain well. Place pasta back into the pot (with heat turned off).  Add diced chicken and cream of chicken soups. Stir in salsa and sour cream. Add 1 cup of Mexican cheese blend and taco seasoning. Stir well to combine (this will take a few minutes.) Pour combined mixture into your prepared baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and a sprinkling of dried parsley. Cover with nonstick aluminum foil. Cook in the oven for about 25 minutes. Then enjoy! CRAVING MORE RECIPES? Extremely rare, black 'anti-auroras' paint luminous 'letter E' above Alaska

A "bizarre" E-shaped aurora was recently photographed dancing in the sky above Alaska. The unusual light show was caused by rare black auroras, a.k.a. anti-auroras, which catapult charged particles from the sun back out of Earth's atmosphere and into space.

‘The Soprano’s’ Steven Van Zandt Strikes Deal With Paradigm

Steven Van Zandt, who played hitman Silvio Dante in The Sopranos, recently signed with Paradigm to represent him on all fronts except his live performances. This news follows the release of his documentary Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple, which premiered on Max in June. The two-and-half-hour film showcased Steven’s career run as a singer-songwriter, a producer, an actor, and much more, with exclusive interviews from the likes of Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen. The Bill Teck-directed project received a Grammy nomination for Best Music Film. Steven Van Zandt’s career after ‘The Sopranos’ Steven Van Zandt/Everett One of Steven’s most notable projects after The Sopranos was the three-season Netflix series Lilyhammer. The 74-year-old played multiple roles in the series’ creation, including acting, writing, executive producing, and music supervisor. Lilyhammer became a fan favorite but was canceled in 2014 due to financial constraints. Steven made appearances in more films and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as Lilyhammer concluded in 2014. He debuted his first book, Unrequited Infatuations, in 2021, and it instantly became a New York Times Bestseller. The memoir explored his personal and professional life, including his relationship with Springsteen. Steven Van Zandt/Everett What is Steven Van Zandt up to? Steven’s new deal with Paradigm marks further expansion for his career and evidence that he is not quitting anytime soon. He is currently collaborating with Springsteen and the E Street Band ahead of the remainder of their tour after the guitarist recovers from peptic ulcer and voice problems. Steven Van Zandt/Everett Steven admitted the tour has been their most intense yet; however, they are considering making it an annual event. He admitted that Bruce’s lengthy three-hour shows took a toll on him, so he joined the gym and has been working out every day. Fame aside, Steven is a thriving family man with his wife and Sopranos costar Maureen Santoro, and they do not share any kids.
