‘Not Going to Make The Difference’: Cotton Brushes Off Dick Cheney’s Kamala Endorsement

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said on Sunday that former Vice President Dick Cheney‘s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris will not give her an edge among swing state voters in the 2024 election. CNN anchor Dana Bash began her interview of Cotton on “State of the Union” by remarking on the fact that both Cheney and his daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), had announced their support of Harris over President Donald Trump this week. “We were talking before — in the break,” Bash said. “I covered the Bush-Cheney administration. I traveled a lot with Dick Cheney, one of the most conservative Republicans alive today. It’s really remarkable that he endorsed a Democrat. What does that tell you about Donald Trump?” Cotton, a Trump ally, replied, “Well, it is a remarkable time in politics. You have Dick Cheney endorsing a Democrat and you have a Kennedy endorsing a Republican,” he added, alluding to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “I think what it tells us is that there’s a lot of ferment in American politics. But, in the end, endorsements are not going to make the difference in this race. What’s going to make the difference is their records. This is a very unusual presidential election,” Cotton said. “We have a former president running for office, first time in more than 100 years. People remember that, when Donald Trump was in office, prices were low, wages were high, we had peace and stability around the world.” Cotton added, “Kamala Harris, as vice president, has brought us record high inflation. We have a wide-open southern border and we have war everywhere you turn around in the world. So, I know that endorsements sometimes make news, but most Americans are making their decisions based on the records of these two candidates. People remember that we had good times with Donald Trump. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have brought us very bad times.” In responding to Cotton, Bash said, “I hear you about endorsements. We don’t really know the impact that they have all the time. RFK Jr. hasn’t had — been in an elected office. Dick Cheney was vice president of the United States for eight years. He was a senior member of the House. He was chief of staff to Gerald Ford. He worked tirelessly to advance Republican policies for a long time. You don’t think his endorsement of a Democrat with that kind of pedigree is going to make a difference with the swing voters?” “No, Dana, I really don’t —,” Cotton said. “Or Never-Trump voters who weren’t sure about Harris?” Bash asked. “Well, I mean, some of this is probably that Donald Trump beat his daughter in her last election by 39 points,” Cotton said, referring to Liz Cheney losing her House primary contest against Trump-backed Harriet Hageman in 2022. “I think most Americans are going to look at this race and compare the records they have,” Cotton continued. “Again, it’s a very unusual race when you have a president who served in office, who brought good times to America, and you have Kamala Harris, a San Francisco liberal, who has brought to America exactly what you see in San Francisco as well.”

Nicole Kidman shared a heartfelt tribute to her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, with her fans at the Venice Film Festival this weekend. But this award is for her, she shaped me, she guided me and she made me.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nicole Kidman (@nicolekidman)  “I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heart-breaking. And my heart is broken.” Halina Reijn read the letter during what would have been Nicole Kidman’s acceptance speech. (PHOTO) Possible BIGFOOT Recorded on Vancouver Island, BC

In the September 6, 2024 episode of the How to Hunt Podcast, a user informed the host that in an earlier video, he may have inadvertently recorded a hulking figure in the treeline, possibly Bigfoot. The host, slightly amused, gave the name of the video in which the figure was seen and admitted that, at the time, he hadn’t noticed anything out of the ordinary. He then proceeded to show (via holding his phone up to the camera) the spot in the older video where the creature appears. His cellphone is blurry but a shape can be seen in the haze of trees. Even at a passing glance, it’s interesting.Sadly, the host, possibly due to his seeming waning interest in the topic overall, makes no effort to retrieve the original footage (or even the older video) for inclusion in the main video, despite how clearly compelling it is.The video in question was released on June 24, 2021. It is titled: “It Raised The Camper Up, I Was Eye to Eye With It 4 Ft Away”. At 20 minutes and 18 seconds, the host, sitting in a boat on a river, pans over to a rocky area along the water. Behind it, there is a hillside with some trees. In amongst the trees, a dark shape appears to be standing, facing the water (and the host's passing boat). The figure seems to be quite large, almost hulking, all black and humanoid in shape. It is standing on two legs. No facial features are visible. It only appears for a moment and never moves. Then the host quickly pans away to the rocks, followed by an edit to another spot on the river.Earlier in the video, the host mentioned that the area in which he was filming (this would have been in June 2021) was the “West Coast Trails” on Vancouver Island. The West Coast Trail is a classic spot for hiking aficionados. It takes between 6 to 8 days to complete and is said to be quite beautiful.Source: “It Raised The Camper Up, I Was Eye to Eye With It 4 Ft Away”. Tracking the ALMAS: 'MONGOLIAN WILDMAN'

Tracking the ALMAS: 'MONGOLIAN WILDMAN'

The Almas (Mongolian for 'wildman') is a creature reported to be of ape-like appearance that inhabits the mountains in central Asia. Although not as well known as the Yeti and Bigfoot, the descriptions of the Almas suggest that it is a creature more akin to a hairy human than an ape. Physical traits and/or demeanor also seem to be more human-like. I have posted a few narratives referencing encounters with creatures with these descriptions. Though some of the locals and investigators refer to these hominids as a 'Yeti or Bigfoot', there is some evidence to suggest that there is a possible human connection.Russian novelist Ivan Turgenev met someone that he described as a troglodyte. The horror of the encounter remained in his mind throughout his entire life. Years later, he told the story to one of his French friends, Guy de Maupassant, who wrote:"I remember a story that Turgenev told us. He was hunting in a Russian forest. He was wandering the whole day and in the evening he went out to a bank of a quiet river. The river was flowing in the shadow of trees, the water there was crystal pure and cold. Turgenev was gripped with a desire to swim in that water. He took his clothes off and jumped in the river. He was a tall, strong, well-built man, and he was a very good swimmer too. He was enjoying the current of the river with his body and soul. Grass and aquatic plants were caressing him.Suddenly, someone's hand touched his shoulder. He looked around quickly and saw a strange creature. The creature was gazing at him with great curiosity. It looked like something in between a woman and a monkey. The creature had the wrinkled face of a monkey. Messy red hair was framing the face and flowing behind the back.Ivan TurgenevTurgenev was flabbergasted. Horror chilled him to the bone. He started swimming to the bank of the river, even not trying to understand, what he just saw. However, the creature was swimming beside him, touching his neck, back, and feet. Finally, the young man reached the ground and ran as fast as he could. He did not care about either his clothes or rifle. He forgot about everything and was guided only by the immense uncontrollable wish to stay alive. The monster was following him.It was running very fast too, uttering some squealing sounds. The young man could hardly catch his breath. He was about to fall down on the ground, but he suddenly saw a boy with a whip in his hands. The boy started whipping the creature and it ran away, yelling in pain. The courage of the little shepherd is explained by the fact that it was not the first time that he saw it.Later, one of the local residents told Turgenev that the monster was a crazy woman who was living alone in the forest and went completely insane. Turgenev made himself believe in such an explanation. Yet, it was known in the 19th century that people do not get covered with thick hair all over their bodies, even if they lived alone in the woods." - maupassantiana.frThe newspaper Literature Kyrgyzstan wrote in 1990: "Shepherd Omusha's wife once said that she saw a bigfoot not far from the pasture. The bigfoot was standing on a high rock. She started pleading with her husband to leave that horrid place and go to another pasture. The man did not agree, although he got anxious about it, too. He started searching for bigfoots, he saw their tracks but never saw a living one.One evening he heard his wife screaming very loudly. He grabbed his rifle and rushed outside. The wife was lying on the ground, almost unconscious. She was speechless and could not say a word. She could only point her finger in the direction of the rocks. The shepherd gazed in the direction that she was pointing and saw the silhouette of a running man. He did not hesitate and fired his rifle. In the morning the shepherd found blood spots on the rocks. Omush thought that those creatures would not come back to their pasture anymore. He was so wrong.Omush's life turned into a nightmare. Several days after he found his little son dead. There was no trace of violence on the boy's body, only a little wound on his neck. Omush was sure that his boy was killed by a bigfoot. He went mad and swore to himself that he would take revenge for his son. He was spending days and nights sitting outside his house, waiting for a bigfoot to come back. But it was all in vain. One night he fell asleep and when he entered his house in the morning, he found the dead body of his wife. Again, there was only a small red wound on her neck.Omush let out a scream of grief and desperation. He started wandering in the woods, having forgotten about his sheep and house and food. He was desperately gripped with anger. The only thing that was on his mind was to kill a bigfoot for the death of his family.Shepherd Shapak took care of Omush's sheep. One day he suddenly saw the sheep getting very troubled and excited. They were bleating and rushing from one side to another. The animals were apparently frightened by something. Shapak could only see a silhouette of a man covered with thick fur disappearing amid bushes and trees. Then he saw another man on the ground. Shapak ran up to him and recognized Omush. The shepherd was already dead, blood was leaking from a small wound on his neck.Who knows, maybe nothing would have happened, if the shepherd had not fired his rifle first." - "Mysteries Hidden in Central Asia`s Mountains" - Alexey Schetnikov - 2001Russian cryptozoologist Viktor Rogov relates an encounter in the Kola Peninsula, near the Lovozersky Lake. The lack of trepidation towards humans, even though it was not threatened, is an interesting characteristic:“In the summer of 1988, together with Maya Bykova, the author of numerous articles and large monographs about the mysterious relic hominoid Misha Gavrilov chose a place for our next expedition. Rather unexpectedly, we received a message from Lovozer (this is the name of the lake situated there), the then-closed area of the Kola peninsula; the message said that several residents came across Yeti. We had received messages of this kind before, but the last information proved that Yeti was noticed close to an inhabited locality. Moreover, yeti terrorized a small hut in the southern part of the lake, a place where fishermen stayed for the night when they went fishing in the lake. It was actually very difficult for me and the other two members of the expedition to reach the mentioned place where the hut stood; we settled in the hut and were in wait for yeti there. The yeti visited the place on the very first night of our stay in the hut. At daybreak, we heard a loud noise from a landfill; someone big was forcing his way through the bushes and rattling the tins. Unfortunately, the windows of the hut didn’t face the side from where the noise came, and we were too scared to leave the hut. On the third night, someone tried to open the door of the hut, then jumped on the roof and walked on it for a long time. Fortunately, the roof was strong enough to stand the heavy walking. The next morning, we saw many footprints left by some unknown animal. One footstep was 34 centimeters long. When we inspected the area in the daytime, besides the large footsteps, we discovered smaller ones; in a mountain crack, we found a rookery where the animal could remain unnoticed and watch us. You should agree that this animal must be intelligent and have at least some skills. We managed to see the strange creature for the first time only on the fourth night. The yeti was walking around the hut, and its head was on the level of the hut’s only window, at a height of about three meters. And when we saw the objective of our expedition in the moonlight, we were extremely shocked. We felt a wild, almost animal fear. We felt as if we wanted to run away and hide somewhere, but at the same time, we couldn’t stop watching the yeti. Later, we saw the creature several times. And each time we saw the yeti, an awful fear anticipated its approaching. When we felt the strange fear, we realized that the yeti was somewhere nearby. The creature resembled a huge anthropoid ape, 2.75-3 meters high, with broad shoulders and strong muscles. The body was covered with light gray hair of average length, it was almost white on the buttocks. The neck was short and strong, the forehead was low, and the jaws were protruding. The face of the creature was almost naked, without hair, covered with dark wrinkles; the eyes were small and angry. Almost at once, we understood that the creature was angry because we intruded on its territory and it came to drive us away. We were awfully scared and couldn’t take even a single picture of him. After the expedition, we brought material proof of the yeti’s existence to Moscow: hair, gypsum copies of its footprints, feces, and drawings; however, unfortunately, no pictures. We sent the hair to the Institute of the Ministry for Internal Affairs for analysis. The specialists said that the hair didn’t belong to any known animal. That was our last expedition. Since that time, I haven’t had a chance to meet with Misha Garvrilov, the third member of the expedition; he left the hut early in the morning even without saying goodbye. Maya Bykova died in three years after the expedition."There is also a more recent account of a sighting (with the photograph above) as stated in a letter by Russian cryptozoologist Valentin Sapunov:"My student from the North Urals got me a photo of Bigfoot. Reserve Jugyd-Va, nearest big city – Inta. The photo was taken by electronic camera at the end of September 2006. Author Anonymous, a hunter having no interest in BF (Bigfoot), made a landscape photo. He got the strange figure. Legends and tales of BF (Bigfoot) in this region exist. Me and my student – Inna Leontyeva – is sure, that nobody has much interest except in joking and falsification, nobody got glory or money from this photo. As for me, the figure is closer to Homo erectus or Australopitecus." - cryptomundo.com - 2/19/2007Because there are so many older, traditional tales of the Alma and similar creatures among the peoples of central Asia, these sightings of humanoid cryptids bring up the interesting possibility that early humans may have interacted with still-surviving versions of primitive hominids. When asked about this possibility in a USA Today article (after an intriguing pinky bone was found in a Siberian cave that was only 30,000 years old), folklorist Michael Heaney noted that such legends have been known in the area for centuries. “The reports of wild men, although having typical mythic overtones, do often reflect what we know of primitive hominins. The presumed [Almas] of Central Asia could be any one of several pre-sapien ancestors.”Abominable Science!: Origins of the Yeti, Nessie, and Other Famous CryptidsThe Existence of Sasquatch and Yeti (Unsolved Mysteries)The Bigfoot Book: The Encyclopedia of Sasquatch, Yeti and Cryptid PrimatesBigfoot and Yeti (Creatures of Legend)**********PHANTOMS & MONSTERS VIDEO LIBRARYPOLL: WHAT DO YOU THINK? Don’t let the reeling abortion industry off the hook

The world spent June 2022 watching and waiting for the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. But you wouldn’t have known it from following Planned Parenthood’s social media. It’s not like the abortion giant didn’t have time to prepare. The nation’s highest court agreed to take the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case more than a year earlier. The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on December 1, 2021. And by early May, Politico had published a leaked draft decision indicating the court would overturn Roe. Planned Parenthood only managed to keep its eye on the ball for a couple of weeks. The organization held nationally coordinated “Bans Off Our Bodies” rallies on May 14, with a website and a social media hashtag to go with them. But by the end of the month, references to Roe and the Supreme Court all but vanished. How could a juggernaut like Planned Parenthood become so ineffective at persuasion — especially with its hands on the political, media, and technological levers of power? With the court poised to throw Planned Parenthood into a fight for its very survival, the abortion empire barely posted about Roe. It did, however, have much to say about all kinds of other supposed social justice issues that aren’t exactly central to the abortion chain’s core product: Salaries for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team players Immigrant Heritage Month A “safe space playlist” Juneteenth Gun violence Ending the “stigma” of sexually transmitted infections, featuring a link to an article that describes how to reduce one’s risk of contracting HIV while sleeping with or sharing needles with someone who is HIV positive Planned Parenthood posted about abortion, too, but those posts didn’t exactly convey the urgency of the moment. There was little evidence of any sort of a coordinated campaign to respond to the imminent reversal of Roe. Once the calendar turned to June, the “#BansOffOurBodies” hashtag disappeared entirely until June 23 — the day before Roe fell. By all appearances, Planned Parenthood’s social media staffer went on a three-week vacation and lazily auto-scheduled posts highlighting an assortment of flavor-of-the-week progressive causes. But Planned Parenthood’s social justice cause-du-jour approach to the most fraught month in its history wasn’t merely the work of an incompetent social media director. The Twitter/X debacle was just one symptom of an existential crisis years in the making. Inescapable activism Longtime Planned Parenthood president and CEO Cecile Richards announced her resignation in January 2018. Throughout her dozen years at the helm, Richards built Planned Parenthood into a political heavyweight. Her presidency saw the organization more than quadruple its volunteer and supporter base. Richards successfully prevented Congress from defunding Planned Parenthood. And she helped Planned Parenthood escape largely unscathed throughout David Daleiden’s 2015 undercover exposé revealing that Planned Parenthood had been trafficking body parts harvested from aborted babies. Richards’ departure was a big blow to Planned Parenthood and one that appeared to catch the abortion business by surprise, as it took eight months to name Dr. Leana Wen as her successor. While Richards — the daughter of former Texas Gov. Ann Richards — made her name in the political world, Wen was chosen to highlight Planned Parenthood not just as an activist organization but as a medical institution. It didn’t take long for buyer’s remorse to set in. Hiring a young, technocratic physician sounded good on paper. But Wen’s approach to running Planned Parenthood wasn’t a good fit for an organization rooted in radical politics. “The emergency physician and former Baltimore health commissioner had tried to position the organization as a nonpartisan health-care institution, but its board wanted to double down on its progressive, pro-abortion advocacy,” wrote Anna Medaris in Business Insider. The friction led to Wen’s ouster after less than a year on the job. “I wanted to emphasize total women’s health,” Wen recounted. “They wanted to double down on abortion rights.” Planned Parenthood tapped former board member Alexis McGill Johnson as acting president and CEO and, nearly a year after announcing a search for a permanent president, removed the “acting” tag in June 2020. There was no danger of McGill Johnson being insufficiently zealous when it came to pitching abortion. A retread who served as Planned Parenthood’s board chairman, PAC chairman, and Planned Parenthood Action Fund board member, McGill Johnson is “a long-standing champion for social and racial justice, a respected political and cultural organizer, and a tireless advocate for reproductive freedom,” according to her official biography. Be careful what you wish for. Failure to persuade McGill Johnson’s call for a more “intersectional” pro-abortion movement explains the mission drift that led Planned Parenthood’s Twitter account to focus on every leftist cause under the sun even as Roe was collapsing. And it also explains why Planned Parenthood has struggled to adapt to the post-Roe world. At first glance, Planned Parenthood seems to be doing OK. The abortion industry successfully leveraged the machine Richards built to raise money as well as to win elections and referenda in the wake of Dobbs. But a peek beneath the surface reveals an organization in crisis. While media elites in Manhattan and San Francisco fawn over Planned Parenthood brass emphasizing intersectional politics, local Planned Parenthood staff have bigger fish to fry. Even as McGill Johnson pals around with Kamala Harris, Jen Psaki, and Al Sharpton, local facility managers are trying to figure out how to deal with pro-life sidewalk counselors, undercover investigators, and an exodus of employees. Clumsy, hastily developed myths are no match for the truth. The disconnect between Planned Parenthood headquarters and local Planned Parenthood facilities helps explain why more than 260 abortion workers have experienced conversion and left their jobs in response to 40 Days for Life vigils and more than 600 have walked away with the help of former Planned Parenthood employee of the year Abby Johnson. Planned Parenthood has also failed to win the hearts and minds necessary to build a lasting movement. The pro-abortion marches and rallies that sprang up immediately after the Dobbs leak and decision quickly tapered off. “In interviews with more than 50 advocates, analysts, abortion providers, and legal experts, what emerged is a sense of the movement being forced to reckon with its mistakes,” wrote Amy Littlefield in the New York Times. “Chief among those mistakes was the relative neglect of grassroots groups.” Teen Vogue took its disenchantment with the abortion industry even farther, arguing that “the mainstream reproductive rights movement … no longer deserve[s] the bulk of our money, time, or attention.” How could a juggernaut like Planned Parenthood become so ineffective at persuasion — especially with its hands on the political, media, and technological levers of power? “One of the critiques of the abortion-rights movement is that we put too much faith in the law, believing that it would protect the right to abortion,” said American University “reproductive rights scholar” Tracy Weitz. Planned Parenthood is bad at persuasion because it never needed to persuade under Roe. With its five-decade judicial protection racket in the dumpster, Planned Parenthood is desperately trying to build a new post-Roe narrative based on manufactured talking points that simply don’t correspond with reality. Don’t let the abortion industry off the hook for being unprepared for the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Clumsy, hastily developed myths are no match for the truth. Editor’s note: This article is an adapted excerpt from “What to Say When 2: Your Proven Guide in the New Abortion Landscape – How to Discuss, Clarify, and Question Abortion in a Hostile Culture” (September 10).

Why the FBI BATTLED Tennessee media over Covenant School shooter’s manifesto

The Covenant School shooter’s manifesto has finally been released by the Tennessee Star — but it didn’t happen without a fight. “We’re just a journalistic organization seeking documents which the public has a right to see, and at every level, the local government has obstructed those desires, as has the FBI,” Tennessee Star CEO Michael Patrick Leahy tells Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson of “Blaze News Tonight.”“In fact, the Metro National Police Department has claimed for well over a year that the investigation is ongoing. They claimed in court in March it would be over by the end of June. Well, here we are, the beginning of September, they’re still claiming it,” he explains. “It’s basically a stalling tactic because they don’t want this information out,” he adds. In 2023, Leahy was hauled into court on June 17 by the presiding judge in the state case to explain why “she shouldn’t hit me with contempt of court charges.” “She claimed that perhaps there was a court order that she’d issued that I violated. There was no such order,” Leahy explains. “It was Kafka-esque, right here in America.” Leahy didn’t give up, as he believes it’s incredibly important for Americans to understand the motive behind a shooting like this, and Savage also notes that "the shooter's writings shed light on her poor mental health leading up to the shooting." “This is a matter of public interest,” he says. “What is the motivation behind these mass murders committed by very troubled people, and what’s the public policy solution to it? I think that’s a very important part of the discussion.” “We believe that we have served the public interest by demonstrating the very confused state of mind that Audrey Hale had and the absolute total failure of the mental health system to treat her for her difficulties,” he continues, noting that Hale had been under psychiatric care at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for 22 years. “She was also taking very, very strong SSRI drugs since 2019. Those will have an impact on a person, and I think that really, the whole public discussion about this has been misdirected. They try to make it about gun control.” The issue isn’t the weapon a person uses but why the person picks up the weapon in the first place. “The real issue here is how our children are suffering from mental illness and not being treated properly and how they’re being overprescribed with psychiatric drugs,” Leahy says.Want more from Blaze News Tonight? Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown compensation coming after server woes

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown developer KT Racing is promising free compensation for all players, after server issues marred the game’s launch. The racing MMO is currently out in advanced access, giving early adopters the chance to try the game out ahead of everyone else. Anyone that’s forked over the extra cash for this opportunity has been severely impacted by server issues, though, rendering the online game borderline unplayable. This hasn’t gone down well, obviously, but a TDU Solar Crown patch is on the way soon.
