Reid: Republicans Who Don't Back Harris 'Don't Want The Country To Succeed'

MSNBC’s Joy Reid welcomed senior political analyst Matthew Dowd to Wednesday’s edition of The ReidOut to attack former President George W. Bush and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for committing the grave political sin of not endorsing Kamala Harris. For Dowd, Rice just wants to pal around at The Masters, while Reid argued that people like them “don’t want the country to succeed.” The background for the segment was not only that people like former Rep. Liz Cheney have endorsed Harris, but a Politico article from Jonathan Martin that argued that a Harris win would be a short-term setback for the GOP, but would put the party in a better position in the long-term if it could rid itself of Trump. He alluded to some anonymous Republicans who were sympathetic to the argument.     “And Condi Rice is one of those people. Where is she? Where is George W. Bush? Where are these Republicans who used to be the center of the party? They're so quiet, Matthew,” Reid huffed. MSNBC’s chyron referred to Dowd as a “Fmr. Republican Strategist,” a fact he was happy to exploit, “Well, I have to tell you, there's so many people in the last ten years, as I know you have, have disappointed you in their inability to show leadership in a moment in time when all Americans should care. Two of the most that I've been disappointed are, are two people I've worked with: Condoleezza Rice and George W. Bush.” It is impossible to take Dowd seriously. The reason he left the party wasn’t Donald Trump, it was Bush because, according to him, Bush was just too much of a right-winger. Dowd was also a Democrat before working for Bush, so he was never a strong, principled conservative. Still, Dowd claimed, “George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice both know better. They know Donald Trump. They know the damage he’s doing to the country, they know what he's done to the Republican Party. They know all that.” Dowd then claimed to have some insight into Rice’s motivations. It isn’t that, despite whatever concerns she may have about Trump, she is still not a Democrat, but rather, “My guess is, for Condoleezza Rice, she likes to wear that green jacket down at The Masters in Augusta, where she can walk around with all her other buddies and sort of say and act like she's nonpartisan and just here for America.” He concluded by repeating himself, “But at this moment in time, those two who I know are probably to me the most disappointing in leadership in this country.” Circling back to Martin’s article, Reid claimed that such Republicans are, “actually counting on Vice President Harris winning and then stopping her from being able to accomplish anything. Thinking that, ‘ah-ha then we'll get the House and Senate back.’ That's the most cynical crap I’ve ever heard. They don't want the country to succeed. They want Trump to go away, go away. That's not how it works.” Speaking of cynical, Reid not only demands that Republicans actively support the Democratic candidate, but Democratic legislation should she win. That’s just old-fashioned partisanship dressed up in flowery language about saving democracy. Here is a transcript for the September 4 show: MSNBC The ReidOut 9/4/2024 7:23 PM ET JOY REID: And Condi Rice is one of those people. Where is she? Where is George W. Bush? Where are these Republicans who used to be the center of the party? They're so quiet, Matthew. MATTHEW DOWD: Well, I have to tell you, there's so many people in the last ten years, as I know you have, have disappointed you in their inability to show leadership in a moment in time when all Americans should care. Two of the most that I've been disappointed are, are two people I've worked with: Condoleezza Rice and George W. Bush.  George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice both know better. They know Donald Trump. They know the damage he’s doing to the country, they know what he's done to the Republican Party. They know all that.  REID: Yeah. DOWD: Why do they not? You know, somebody would have to interview them and ask them directly why they don't speak up and say something in the course of this. My guess is, for Condoleezza Rice, she likes to wear that green jacket down at The Masters in Augusta, where she can walk around with all her other buddies and sort of say and act like she's nonpartisan and just here for America.  But at this moment in time, those two who I know are probably to me the most disappointing in leadership in this country. REID: Yeah, and we don't have time, but we could go on about the rest of that article saying that they're actually counting on Vice President Harris winning and then stopping her from being able to accomplish anything. Thinking that, “ah-ha then we'll get the House and Senate back." That's the most cynical crap I’ve ever heard.  DOWD: Exactly. REID: They don't want the country to succeed. They want Trump to go away, go away. That's not how it works. Matthew Dowd, thank you very much.

JD Vance celebrates Liz Cheney's endorsement of Harris, says they're well-paired: 'They get rich when America gets weaker'

Former Jan. 6 committee member Liz Cheney has endorsed Kamala Harris for president despite having previously warned that Harris was a "radical liberal" who would take away Americans' guns and health insurance and give the government "control over every aspect of our lives." During an interview Wednesday with Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at the Generation Church in Mesa, Arizona, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) suggested that the Democratic Party is where the likes of Cheney now belong — that her endorsement is "the best thing in the world." Cheney partook in a "fireside chat" this week at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy, discussing the forthcoming election as well as the 2022 congressional primary election in which Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-Wyo.) netted more than double the number of votes Cheney received. Echoing the New York Times' David French, Cheney stated, "As a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this, and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I am voting for Kamala Harris." 'This is a person whose entire career has been about sending other people's children off to fight and die for her military conflicts.' This endorsement comes two years after Republican primary voters in Wyoming overwhelmingly rejected Cheney and just days after scores of nominally Republican staffers who served under President George W. Bush, the late Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), and failed presidential candidate Sen. Mitt Romney (Utah) similarly threw in their lots with Harris. It also represents a major about-face for Cheney, who in November 2020 suggested that Harris sounded "just like Karl Marx." A month earlier, Cheney wrote, "Kamala Harris is a radical liberal who wants to raise your taxes, take away your guns and your health insurance, explode the size of our federal government and give it control over every aspect of our lives. She would recreate America in the image of what we've seen on the streets of Portland and Seattle. We won't give her the chance." Cheney told Fox News in August 2020: It's very clear, [Kamala Harris] is a radical liberal. She's somebody that has said we ought to spend $32 trillion on Medicare for all. If you look at her record as well in California, she did in fact essentially ban gun sales with executive action and she threatened during the primaries to do the same thing if she's elected. Cheney noted further that the economic policies favored by Harris would make "matters worse" for Americans. 'Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney make very, very interesting partners.' Charlie Kirk informed Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) of Cheney's endorsement Wednesday, noting, "It's so interesting that every failed warmonger in the established D.C. ... 'machine' is behind Kamala Harris; that the peacemakers are behind Trump and Vance. Blessed are the peacemakers is what the Scriptures say." Vance responded, "A very good thing that I could say about the next presidency of Donald Trump is that he's going to make sure that people like Liz Cheney are laughed out of the Oval Office instead of rewarded." "This is a person whose entire career has been about sending other people's children off to fight and die for her military conflicts and her ridiculous ideas that somehow, we were going to turn Afghanistan — a country that doesn't even have running water in a lot of places — into a thriving liberal democracy," said Vance. "And for that, Liz Cheney was willing to kill thousands of your children." "I think it's the best thing in the world that she's supporting Kamala Harris," continued Trump's running mate. "Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney make very, very interesting partners. They get rich when America's sons and daughters go off to die. They get rich when America loses wars instead of winning wars. And they get rich when America gets weaker in the world." Vance suggested that whereas Cheney and Harris are keen on continued interventionism and foreign entanglements, "We want American strength, American security, and most importantly, peace." The Harris campaign welcomed Cheney's endorsement in a statement obtained by NBC News. "She is a patriot who loves this country and puts our democracy and our Constitution first," said Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon. "Vice President Harris will be a president for all Americans, regardless of political party. For any American who is looking to reject the chaos and division of Donald Trump, turn the page, and pursue a new way forward that protects our freedoms and defends the American values we all believe in, there is a place for you in the Harris-Walz coalition, and we will continue working to earn your support," added Dillon. MSNBC lies: Clip of Joe Rogan edited to praise Kamala Harris — but he wasn’t

If you need more evidence that the mainstream media is not your friend, look no further than the stunt MSNBC just tried to pull on Joe Rogan. The major news network deceptively edited a clip of Rogan to make it seem as though he was praising Kamala Harris, when he really was praising Tulsi Gabbard — and he’s understandably pissed. “This is what MSNBC did,” Rogan told Andrew Huberman on an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.” “They took a clip of me talking about Tulsi Gabbard, and they edited it up and made it look like I was saying great things about Kamala Harris.” “They just deceptively edited the things that I was saying, took it completely out of context,” Rogan continued. “First of all, I was talking about Tulsi Gabbard, and then I was talking about the media behind Kamala Harris, all this surge, and all these people just deciding that she’s good, she could win, and they put the two of those together and made it seem like I was praising Kamala Harris.” Rogan had been discussing Gabbard’s accomplishments, like being a congresswoman for eight years and her two overseas deployments in medical units helping injured soldiers. “They don’t care about the truth. They just want a narrative to get out there amongst enough people, ‘cause most people are just surface readers,” Rogan explained. Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” isn’t surprised. “Evil, that’s the word, and you got to admire what they do,” Rubin tells Sage Steele. “Do they think they’re going to get away with it?” “But the answer I guess ultimately is yes, because they keep doing it, and they still get a certain amount of people to follow,” he continues. “Maybe their whole game is like ‘Oh, Rogan’s going to call on us, more people are going to watch our show. That’s just the nature of the clickbait evil.” Want more from Dave Rubin? To enjoy more honest conversations, free speech, and big ideas with Dave Rubin, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

The Casting of Frank Stone DBD easter eggs

What are all of The Casting of Frank Stone Dead by Daylight easter eggs? Nearly a decade on from its initial release, asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight just keeps going from strength to strength. The popularity of the IP is now such that there are comic books, a spin-off dating sim, a graphic novel, more spin-off games, and even an upcoming movie hopefully still in the works.. The Casting of Frank Stone is another official game based on the property, so of course the horror game is littered with DBD references and easter eggs. Thanks to a branching timeline and events which change as a consequence of your decisions, something we discuss in our The Casting of Frank Stone review, you might miss a few on your first or even second playthrough, so we’ve done our best to compile a list of DBD easter eggs in The Casting of Frank Stone right here - be warned, though, there are a couple of spoilers in here. I need this giant gaming keyboard, but it won’t fit on my desk

If, like me, you're wondering why gaming keyboards always seem to be focused on getting smaller, MCHOSE is bucking the trend and has created a giant gaming keyboard that measures over five feet long. The  X75 V2 isn't yet available in a conventional 75% layout, but in an attempt to drum up some attention for its upcoming release, MCHOSE designed this fully functional mega-sized version and demoed it earlier this week. While this oversized peripheral won't be cracking into our list of the best gaming keyboards, it is a fantastic way to bring more attention to the MCHOSE X75 V2, which looks set to be a mid-range gaming keyboard available as a successor to the V1, which is still available to buy.
