CNN Harris Documentary Lauds Her Abortion Activism

CNN Harris Documentary Lauds Her Abortion Activism

For its Labor Day evening programming, CNN ran hour-long documentaries on Kamala Harris and Donald Trump that sought to explain where each candidate stands on the issues and their records. If Harris wants to campaign on abortion, she might not need to anymore because the Harris episode heaped copious amounts of praise on her for her abortion activism. As part of the documentary, narrator Audie Cornish interviewed California Senator and Harris’s replacement, Laphonza Butler, and claimed, “It's interesting to me that she would embrace this, not for just the obvious reasons of being a woman politician, et cetera. But it is right at the moment when, in some states, abortion would be criminalized specifically, right? So now, it makes sense that the prosecutor wants to jump in.”     Butler, naturally, also hyped Harris’s reaction to Roe v. Wade’s demise, “The rolling back of Roe was an abject attack on people, women who actually needed to get reproductive care and so, her comments about “how dare they,” the rejection of this sentiment that other people, men, can make decisions about what rights women have about their own bodies. And so, when those rights were stripped away, of course, the prosecutor in her showed up.” CNN political commentator and former Harris communications director Jamal Simmons added, “That's the place where her legal mind really kicked in and she saw how the implication of this decision would go into so many other areas of Americans' lives that maybe most people didn't anticipate.” Later, Cornish recalled Harris’s visit to a Planned Parenthood and told another former Harris communications director, Ashley Etienne, that, “Visiting a clinic, that's something politically that was seen as like a fascinating moment.” Etienne was happy to provide her former boss with some more praise, “Yes, and she also took the message into those suburban areas that we typically don't go into.” After Cornish added that Tim Walz joined her on that trip, former CNN White House reporter and current NOTUS reporter Jasmine Wright observed, “Walz really impressed her by being by her side in that moment. And so, I think it is a doubling down on the understanding that this campaign is in so many ways about reproductive rights.” While the abortion portion of the documentary was the most gushing, there were other moments as well. On the border, Cornish played a 2021 clip of Harris in Guatemala where she declared, “I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border, do not come, do not come. The United States will continue to enforce our laws and secure our border.”     Cornish then asked Etienne what Harris’s reaction was to “how that was received.” Etienne claimed, “It wasn't well-received coming from the daughter of immigrants and a Black woman. So, that was a moment in which I think we realize that, okay we have to talk about these things differently, although its the company line. We can't toe that line in the same way that Joe Biden can.” Lastly, Cornish harkened back to the early days of the Biden administration and the fight over so-called “voting rights.” Earlier in the program, Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy suggested that if Democrats win both houses of Congress, they could eliminate the filibuster, and now he added, “Kamala is committed to voting rights and democracy reform, and I think it's actually going to be essential that she run on that message.” While “democracy reform” may be an all-time euphemism, New York Times national politics reporter Astead Herndon didn’t see what the problem was, “If those things don't happen, then the possibility of passage of things like voting rights completely evaporate.” Voting rights will not evaporate if Democrats fail to win a trifecta in November. That’s hysterical fearmongering from CNN under the guise of a documentary.  Here is a transcript for the September 2 show: CNN The Whole Story With Anderson Cooper: Where Harris Stands: Fight for the White House 9/2/2024 8:13 PM ET AUDIE CORNISH: It's interesting to me that she would embrace this, not for just the obvious reasons of being a woman politician, et cetera. But it is right at the moment when, in some states, abortion would be criminalized specifically, right? So now, it makes sense that the prosecutor wants to jump in. LAPHONZA BUTLER: The rolling back of Roe was an abject attack on people, women who actually needed to get reproductive care and so, her comments about “how dare they,” the rejection of this sentiment that other people, men, can make decisions about what rights women have about their own bodies. And so, when those rights were stripped away, of course, the prosecutor in her showed up. JAMAL SIMMONS: That's the place where her legal mind really kicked in and she saw how the implication of this decision would go into so many other areas of Americans' lives that maybe most people didn't anticipate. … CORNISH: Visiting a clinic, that's something politically that was seen as like a fascinating moment. ASHLEY ETIENNE: Yes, and she also took the message into those suburban areas that we typically don't go into. CORNISH: With her on that tour, her future running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. JASMINE WRIGHT: Walz really impressed her by being by her side in that moment. And so, I think it is a doubling down on the understanding that this campaign is in so many ways about reproductive rights. KAMALA HARRIS: We trust women to know what is in their best interests and not have their government telling them what to do. ASTEAD HERNDON: Abortion rights are quite literally on the ballot and so for a lot of people that is going to be just as motivating for a reason to come to the polls as anything else. … CORNISH: Her first official trip abroad as vice president, Guatemala in June of 2021. She talked about the role of women and economic development there. But Harris also delivered a stark message. HARRIS: I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border, do not come, do not come. The United States will continue to enforce our laws and secure our border. CORNISH: “Do not come, do not come” -- what was her reaction to how that was received? ETIENNE: It wasn't well-received coming from the daughter of immigrants and a Black woman. So, that was a moment in which I think we realize that, okay we have to talk about these things differently, although its the company line. We can't toe that line in the same way that Joe Biden can. … CORNISH: Despite an aggressive campaign from Vice President Harris and President Biden, Congress failed to pass the voting rights bills. HARRIS: The motion is not agreed to. HERNDON: So rather than being a signature accomplishment, I think the issue functioned in the first couple years as a signature failure. CORNISH: Harris promises as president, she'll keep pushing. HARRIS: When I am president, we are going to finally pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act. MURPHY: Kamala is committed to voting rights and democracy reform, and I think it's actually going to be essential that she run on that message. CORNISH: But passing any voting rights legislation likely comes down to winning both the House and the Senate. HERNDON: If those things don't happen, then the possibility of passage of things like voting rights completely evaporate.

Editor’s Pick: NY Post Puts Lefty Media to Shame With SHOCKING Stat on Illegal Aliens

In a blockbuster front-page story for Tuesday’s print edition, Larry Celona, Marie Pohl, Carl Campanile, Kevin Sheehan, and Chris Nesi of the indefatigable New York Post revealed that illegal immigration has overwhelmed far-left New York City with illegals looking to inflict chaos on our country sources told them “a staggering estimate that” illegal immigrants constitute “as many as 75%” of those “arrest[ed] in Midtown Manhattan”. The five reporters explained the arrests included charges for violent crimes like “assault, robbery, and domestic violence”. Over in Queens, their sources told them the percentage of arrests involving illegals are “more than 60%”. They added these figures are “far higher rates than public officials have acknowledged” and, not surprisingly, “Big Apple criminal court dockets are packed with asylum seekers who have run afoul of the law.” “The problem is made much worse by sanctuary city laws that mean New York cops aren’t allowed to work with ICE on cases in which they believe suspects are in the country illegally. Additionally, the NYPD says it is barred from tracking the immigration status of offenders,” they continued. Crucially, they also had sources tell them that “word has gotten out in the shelters about the city’s lax bail guidelines — meaning migrants know they’re going to get kicked back onto the street quickly after they’re nabbed.” Here were just three examples from their article: Jefferson Maldenado, a 31-year-old migrant from Ecuador, has been arrested in New York City five times since arriving in the US earlier this year. His latest bust was for stealing a pair of pants and a beer from the Target near Herald Square. (....) Venezuelan migrant Yurlex Daniel Guzman Quintero was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Aug. 28, accused of a deplorable act of sexual abuse against his girlfriend in which he viciously choked her and held a knife to her head. Court documents allege it all happened in front of her child. The same day, migrant Dionisio Moran Flores was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court for allegedly raping his 5-year-old daughter. He was ordered held on $150,000 bail. To read the rest of their excellent work of journalism, click here.

FLASHBACK: Five Times Kamala Harris Pushed to Censor Donald Trump — And It Worked

FLASHBACK: Five Times Kamala Harris Pushed to Censor Donald Trump — And It Worked

North Korea, China, Venezuela, Brazil, Canada, Australia, the European Union and the United Kingdom have each shown what they are willing to do to their citizens, and in some cases social media users abroad, if they dare disagree with their respective governments’ official narrative. If elected, will Vice President Kamala Harris’s America be so different?  Democratic nominee for president Harris has publicly advocated for taking away the free speech rights of her political rival Donald Trump on at least five separate occasions. In 2019, then-Senator and presidential candidate Harris (D-CA) mounted a campaign against her would-be opponent Trump, asking Twitter to suspend his account. MRC Free Speech America researchers have found five times where Harris pushed for election-interfering censorship of Trump.  Her censorship campaign began with Trump’s tweets reacting to allegations brought against him during the largely partisan impeachment proceedings in 2019. Trump was accused of abusing his power as president by urging the Ukrainian government to investigate the Biden family and their ties to the Ukrainian energy company Burisma allegedly in exchange for access to Trump.  Trump’s tweets questioned how a whistleblower acquired alleged information and called out the lead prosecutor in the investigation, Rep. Adam Shiff (D-CA). Harris saw the free speech of her political rival as grounds for censorship.  On September 30, 2019 Kamala Harris outright said that Twitter should censor Trump on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360. “I, frankly, think that based on [Trump’s tweets] and all we’ve seen him do before, including attacking members of Congress, that he, frankly, hisTwitter account should be suspended,” she said. “I think there is plenty of, of now evidence to suggest that he is irresponsible with his words in a way that could result in harm to other people, and so the privilege of using those words in that way should probably be taken from him.” [Emphasis added.]  She added that if Trump did not show “self-restraint, then perhaps there should be other mechanisms in place to make sure that his harm, his words do not, in fact, harm anyone.” Later that same night, Harris doubled down in a tweet that read: “Look let's be honest, @realDonaldTrump 's Twitter account should be suspended.” [Emphasis added.] The very next day, Harris sent a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey explicitly asking him to consider censoring the sitting president of the United States. She–like many others in government at that time, as The Twitter Files have revealed–reached out allegedly to highlight content that seemed to violate Twitter’s Terms of Service.  Showing her disdain for America’s first principles, Harris cited past examples of the platform censoring users she disagreed with, arguing that Trump’s account should also be on the chopping block. “In the past, Twitter has banned or suspended people who have violated its user agreement,” she said. She went on in the letter:  “InfoWars host Alex Jones was permanently banned from the platform in 2018 for spreading disinformation and inciting violence. Disgraced hedge fund manager Martin Shkreli and actor James Woods were both suspended from Twitter for using the platform to harass and spread hateful messages. I believe the President’s recent tweets rise to the level that Twitter should consider suspending his account. Others have had their accounts suspended for less offensive behavior. And when this kind of abuse is being spewed from the most powerful office in the United States, the stakes are too high to do nothing,” [emphasis added]. On October 15, Twitter responded to some of Harris’s concerns in a blog post, pointing to its policy on why it does not censor world leaders.  “[I]f a Tweet from a world leader does violate the Twitter Rules but there is a clear public interest value to keeping the Tweet on the service, we may place it behind a notice that provides context about the violation and allows people to click through should they wish to see the content,” the platform wrote. That same day, Harris did not let up on her requests for Twitter to censor, not once but twice. During the CNN-New York Times Democrat presidential primary debate, Harris attempted to get Senator and then-presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) to join her in asking Twitter to suspend Trump’s account. “I was surprised to hear that you did not agree with me on this subject of what should be the rules of corporate responsibility for these Big Tech companies when I called on Twitter to suspend Donald Trump’s account,” she said. Harris later added, “he and his account should be taken down.” [Emphasis added.] She later took a different tactic when she went after Big Tech companies for not censoring him in a tweet falsely accusing Trump of crimes. “Trump's tweets incite violence, threaten witnesses, and obstruct justice,” she wrote. “We can't crack down on Facebook but turn a blind eye to Twitter. Big tech companies must be held accountable for how they allow him to abuse their platforms. #DemDebate.” [Emphasis added.] According to The Twitter Files parts four and five, Dorsey would later cave to Harris’s line of reasoning when his own staffers pressured him to let them censor Trump in 2021.  Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment and provide an equal platform for conservatives. If you have been censored, contact us using MRC Free Speech America’s contact form, and help us hold Big Tech accountable.

ZING! On CNN, GOP Strategist Says Democrats 'Took Biden Out Back Like Old Yeller'

If this had been a boxing match, the ref would have stopped the fight.... On today's CNN This Morning, Republican communications strategist Erin Perrine demolished Dem Brad Woodhouse. The topic was Biden's value on the campaign trail for Kamala Harris, and his supposed popularity in the blue wall states of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. In Round 1, Woodhouse boasted about "how powerful Joe Biden is in these blue wall states." Perrine counterpunched: "If Joe Biden was so strong in these blue wall states, Democrats wouldn't have booted him off the top of the ticket." In Round 2, Woodhouse bragged that Biden had won the blue wall states in 2020.  Countered Perrine: "He wasn't about to this cycle, which is why Democrats gave him the old heave-ho."  And finally, the climactic Round 3. Woodhouse, already wobbly on his feet, clung to the "four-and-a-half minute standing ovation" that Democrats gave Biden at the DNC. Perrine delivered her knockout blow: "After they took him out back like Old Yeller." Woodhouse could only admit defeat, mumbling: "Okay, all right." CNN This Morning 9/3/24 6:17 am EDT KAMALA HARRIS: When union wages go up, everybody's wages go up. When union workplaces are safer, all workplaces. When unions are strong, America is strong.  JESSICA DEAN: There Vice President Harris reaching out to union workers on labor day. She and her surrogates, laser-focused on the backbone of America, blue-collar workers in the so-called blue wall states. The Vice President campaigning in Pittsburgh with President Biden by her side, while her running mate was stumping in battleground Wisconsin, echoing the same theme. TIM WALZ: Folks, start thinking about running. I can remember, and this was when Republicans came up to me in one of my campaigns and they said, Tim is in the pocket of organized labor. I said that's a damn lie. I am the pocket, I am the pocket. DEAN: Those battleground states are up for grabs. In a recent Quinnipiac poll, Harris leads Trump by three points among likely voters in Pennsylvania. But that's just outside the margin of error.  . . . BRAD WOODHOUSE: Well, first of all, this [sic] events yesterday were incredible. And I think the one thing that people underestimate with the change at the top of the ticket is how powerful Joe Biden is in these blue, in blue wall states. If you win the blue wall states, you win the presidency. And there's nowhere that Joe Biden has a more effective message to help Kamala Harris than in those in those blue, in those blue wall states.  But this, this issue of her position on price gouging and lowering housing costs is pretty incredible because, you know, about 90% of people, probably, want to see the cost of housing lower. Want to see the cost of groceries lower.  As soon she comes out and says, I have the plan to take on price gouging, the Republicans come out and say, well, you can't dot hat. That's, that's price controls. They said the same thing about prescription drug costs. Again, 90% of Americans want a lower prescription drug cost. Biden-Harris got it done. I think she'll get this done.  It also speaks to her biography, that she is the prosecutor, wanting to take on people like corporate, corporate grocery stores, and speculators in the real estate market.   DEAN: But Erin, this is, of course, a weakness for her. Not everyone is happy with the economy. It presents an opportunity for the former president. How should he approach this issue, especially in next week's debate? ERIN PERRINE: This is, this is I think actually an easy one for Donald Trump. I think that she's in the White House. To your point, she's there. If you can get this done, get it done. Democrats are going to say, well, Donald Trump stopped the immigration bill because he put his hand on the lever. He stopped progress. This is Kamala Harris stopping progress. This is Kamala Harris stopping progress. If she's sitting in the White House, and she is there right now. Why aren't they working to get things done? If you can deliver today, why wait until tomorrow?  WOODHOUSE: I think -- PERRINE: That's ineffective leadership at best. And Republicans absolutely have every reason and ability to say, you want to look at what direction the country's going in? It's because of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. You want to know why things are more expensive today? It's because of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. You want to know why you feel less safe? It's because of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.  And so the more they put Joe Biden out there with Kamala Harris out there, and to your point [turns to Woodhouse], if Joe Biden was so strong in these blue wall states, Democrats wouldn't have booted him off the top of the ticket.  WOODHOUSE: Well, he, he, look -- PERRINE: They would have kept him up there to keep running.  WOODEHOUSE: I will tell you -- PERRINE: So I think we could all say that that's not necessarily a fact. WOODHOUSE: I'll tell you it wasn't the blue wall states, he beat Donald Trump last time -- PERRINE: And he wasn't about to this cycle, which is why Democrats gave him the old heavE-ho. WOODHOUSE: He beat, he beat all of them last ending was about to this cycle which Democrats he beat him, all of them last time. Look, one of the key elements of winning elections is turning out your base. The base of the Democratic party loves Joe Biden.  At the Democratic convention they gave him a four-and-a-half minute standing ovation. PERRINE: After they took him out back like Old Yeller.  WOODHOUSE: Okay. All right.

Harris has kept voters in the dark about her plans for America. Democrats say her secrecy is a good thing.

Harris has kept voters in the dark about her plans for America. Democrats say her secrecy is a good thing.

Kamala Harris has been less than forthcoming about what she would do if elected president. Democrats and her boosters in the liberal media apparently believe that when it comes to cluing Americans in on what exactly they might be voting for, less is more — and have now said so publicly. Although it has been several weeks since President Joe Biden was unceremoniously retired from the race, his replacement's campaign website remains devoid of a policy agenda. Rather than detail what Harris stands for, the site merely notes where she has stood, adding only, "She will make sure the doors of opportunity are wide open for all to follow." While the Harris campaign has highlighted the vice president's record, that record effectively belongs to a candidate who no longer exists. After all, the New York Post noted that Harris has reversed her stances on health care and energy issues in recent weeks and has gone so far as to re-imagine herself as tough on the border, abandoning her pledge to decriminalize illegal border crossing. It is difficult to discern amid her many flip-flops what she still stands for apart from expanding abortion access, adopting President Donald Trump's policy of eliminating federal income taxes on tips, giving $25,000 taxpayer-funded handouts to first-time homeowners, and slapping Americans with various new taxes, including a tax on unrealized gains. Michigan Rep. Dan Kildee (D) recently let the cat out of the bag, intimating to CNN that policy is irrelevant and that the election is ultimately just a personality contest. 'I don't think there's a real, strong reason for her to try and weed out any points of view.' "I actually think the way the American people think about this choice is less about the minutiae of policy and more about the direction of the country, number one, and secondly, about the person. Character, it does matter," said Kildee. "If it turns on character, this election is over. That's what people are looking for," added Kildee. "This election will clearly be won or lost on vibes, and Democrats right now are winning in the vibes department after the DNC," claimed a Democratic aide. "We don't need to focus on the nitty gritty. Right now we just need to focus on winning." Rep. Annie Kuster (D-N.H.), the chairwoman of the New Democrat Coalition, told CNN that Harris "doesn't need to negotiate against herself." "You know, we've got the biggest possible tent right now," said Kuster. "I don't think there's a real strong reason for her to try and weed out any points of view right now." Georgia Rep. Nikema Williams (D) said, "What I'm hearing from voters is they're looking for that candidate to bring us together. I haven't heard from many voters looking for white papers and policy papers." Techno Fog indicated in a recent op-ed for Align that: She is known, weighed down by the policies and mistakes of the Biden administration: inflation, lagging wages and a slowing labor market, the Afghanistan withdrawal, illegal immigration, the wars in Ukraine and Israel. She has zero significant achievements as vice president. It may be a losing game to distinguish herself from her shared failures with Biden. By instead remaining silent on questions of policy, Techno Fog indicated Harris can instead "campaign on platitudes: diversity and liberalism, freedom, democracy, whatever." By conveying "joy" and good "vibes" rather than detailing possible shifts in policy, Paul Gottfried indicated last month Harris also avoids alienating "her radical left, woke base, which adores those positions she's held over the years." According to Politico, Harris' ambiguity on policy prescriptions is part of her "secret power" — namely that "she is whatever you want her to be." Like Blaze News? Veterans who served with Tim Walz slam vice presidential nominee as 'habitual liar,' 'deserter'

Four retired military leaders who knew and served with Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz torched the Minnesota governor for misrepresenting his military service.During a Monday segment on "The Megyn Kelly Show," the former National Guardsmen — Tom Behrends, Paul Herr, Tom Schilling, and Rodney Tow — called Walz a "habitual liar," "deserter," and "cowardly."'GTMO would be a good place for him to end up.'Walz has been accused of stolen valor for claiming he "carried" weapons "in war," despite never being deployed to a combat zone. He has also been introduced as a former "command sergeant major" even though he never met the requirements to retire at that rank. Supporters of Democratic presidential nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris have claimed that the accusations against Walz are incorrect. Last week on Kelly's show, Congressman Adam Smith (D-Wash.) defended Walz and called the accusations "absolute lies.""He did not get out of the National Guard because he didn't want to deploy," Smith stated. "To claim that is an absolute lie, 100%.""If you are a veteran and you are saying publicly that Tim Walz decided to get out because he didn't want to go to Iraq, then you are saying something that you cannot possibly know to be true," he added. The four veterans on Kelly's show refuted Smith's statements, explaining that Walz would have likely known about deployment plans months before the announcement was officially shared with the entire unit since he was in a leadership position."He's a habitual liar," Herr told Kelly. "He lies about everything. He lies about stuff that doesn't make sense.""It's just one habitual lie after another, and they keep piling up," he added.Later on in the interview, Herr stated, "He is an exact result and why we have stolen valor. People make decisions that are cowardly, and they come back, and they try to lead vicariously by robbing other people's — all the other soldiers and all the benefits that we did and all the sacrifices, they want a piece of that.""Fear is a reaction; bravery is a decision," Herr remarked.Behrends called Walz a “deserter.”"He left his post. He left his duty station, and he walked off into the sunset. I say 'slithered' a lot of times. That he slithered out of the Armory, but he walked into the sunset. Never turned around, never had any intention of ever coming back to the military. He was gone," Behrends said. "He took his uniform, and he literally turned it inside out and went off into whatever other realm he did, which was vote against anything that went on in Iraq.""GTMO would be a good place for him to end up," he added, referring to the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp in Cuba.Like Blaze News?
