Posters declaring that Vice President Kamala Harris is the "official candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles" were placed in at least six Philadelphia bus shelters, WCAU-TV reported.The posters feature a profile image of an individual appearing to be Harris wearing an Eagles helmet and holding a football, along with the Eagles team logo and large bold letters spelling the name "Kamala" as well as the phrase "official candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles."'It's encoded in people's brains, this picture of Kamala Harris with the Eagles,' city resident Mathilda Jones told the station. 'So no matter what happens now, the psychological effect is there. While our bus shelters have locks that typically prevent the installation of unauthorized copy by non-Intersection staff, occasionally people find a way to unlock the ad box and insert unauthorized copy. The unauthorized copy in this case implies an endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris by the Philadelphia Eagles. We note that the Eagles and Intersection had nothing to do with the creation or posting of this unauthorized copy and Intersection staff will be removing the ads as soon as possible."A city spokesperson released a statement as well, WCAU said: "These were not digital ads placed by the Harris campaign, the Philadelphia EAGLES, SEPTA, the City of Philadelphia, or the media agency, Intersection, that handles the transit ad space. This was not a digital breach; whomever is responsible for the illegally placed posters broke into the securely covered shelter ad space and somehow put the posters in the space. Intersection has advised the City’s Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems (OTIS) that they plan to conduct a full inventory tomorrow of all bus shelters, and remove any illegally posters. Law enforcement officers in New York City estimate that in some neighborhoods, the majority of arrestees are illegal aliens who are emboldened to commit crimes due to the city’s sanctuary status and relaxed bail guidelines.Police sources told the New York Post that in recent months, as many as 75% of those arrested in Midtown Manhattan are illegal immigrants. The individuals are being detained for assault, robbery, and domestic violence, the sources noted. In Queens, more than 60% of arrestees are illegal aliens, the police sources estimated.'Commit crimes and attack police officers and be out the next day.'A Midtown Manhattan officer told the Post, “I would say about 75% of the arrests in Midtown Manhattan are migrants, mostly for robberies, assaults, domestic incidents, and selling counterfeit items.”He clarified that the figure is an estimate because “you can’t be 100% sure [they’re migrants] unless you arrest them in a shelter or they’re dumb enough to give you a shelter address.”According to the New York Police Department, the city’s sanctuary policies prohibit it from tracking the immigration status of offenders, the Post reported. A spokesperson for the department told the news outlet, “Police officers are prohibited from asking about the immigration status of crime victims, witnesses, or suspects, and therefore the NYPD doesn’t track data pertaining to immigration statuses.”According to a Manhattan police officer, illegal immigrants are “easily” 75% of arrestees, excluding those arrested for petty larcenies at drug stores. He stated that illegal aliens are responsible for “most” of the pickpocketing incidents in the city.“Most of the people we arrest are professionals — these aren’t their first crimes,” a law enforcement source told the news outlet.“Crime would be down significantly if there was a wall and we could account for everyone who comes into the country,” the source added. “And more importantly, throw them out if they commit a crime.”Police sources noted that illegal immigrants residing in the city’s shelter system know that they will likely be quickly released back out onto the street after an arrest. A law enforcement officer at Queens Criminal Courthouse told the Post that the increase in crimes committed by illegal aliens can also be observed in the courts.“There are days we have so many migrant cases we have to call in for extra Spanish interpreters,” the source stated.Another court officer told the news outlet that nearly all cases on Mondays involve illegal aliens.Patrick Hendry, the president of the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York Inc., said that the city’s criminal justice system is “failing to protect” residents.“Now word has gotten out that you can come to New York to commit crimes and attack police officers and be out the next day. Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade filed a lawsuit alleging former manager Gilliard Parana embezzled her money during their partnership between 2012-2024.The $2 million lawsuit comes as Andrade is set for an early September return to the Octagon and is filed in the United States despite both the plaintiff and defendant being Brazilian.Parana has returned to Brazil since he and Andrade parted ways, which Andrade said he was "smart" for doing."The lawsuit is moving in the United States and he’s in Brazil, so I don't know how it's going to work. Jessica was never forbidden from going to the bank, from calling the bank and from finding out how her accounts were," Parana added.At the same time, the Brazilian coach said he expected her accusations were about income made in 2023, but said there's no way she made $2 million that year."It could be something close to that — unless she fought Conor McGregor and no one found out," Parana said, poking fun at the idea.
