Witty “Sign War” Erupts In NC City & Brings Laughs To All

Business signs are typically used to inform potential guests of the latest deals and specials they’re offering… but that is certainly not always the case. Some use their signs as a way to be humorous. The sign war between Ioanni’s Grill and Dank Burrito in Morehead, North Carolina is the perfect example. That’s right, a sign war. It all started when the folks at Dank Burrito noticed their neighboring restaurant had kept the same message on their sign for nearly a month. To make the situation even funnier, the sign read, “Happy birthday Jeff.” Feeling a bit mischievous, the folks at Dank Burrito chose to put up a new sign of their own, addressing the one at Ioanni’s Grill. It read, “Ioanni’s quit being lazy, change your sign.” This led to more funny responses, as seen below. Facebook Maybe the owner of Dank Burrito, Clarke Merrell, expected some sort of response, but he certainly didn’t expect this to turn into an all-out sign war. But that’s exactly what has happened! In addition to responses from Ioanni’s Grill, other nearby businesses are getting in on the harmless fun. “I’ve seen a ton of people stop and take pictures of the signs,” Clarke shares. “I think there’s over 70 businesses that have chimed in since.” Word of North Carolina’s 2024 Sign War in Morehead Hilariously Spreads Across the Country In fact, there’s a whole Facebook group dedicated to this unexpected “war.” Fittingly, it’s called 2024 Sign Wars Carteret County NC. As of the moment this article is being written, there are over 11,800 members from all across the country. This silly sign war is a good laugh, of course, but it’s even led to opportunities for good. Ashley Harrell, an owner of Gaffer’s Restaurant in Emerald Idle, is using the popularity of this rivalry to raise money so local school lunch debt can be wiped clean. So far, $21,000 dollars have been raised. How much longer will this sign war continue? Only time will tell. Here’s what we do know: It seems that neither side will give up without a hilarious fight. “I’m going to keep it up as long as I can,” Sam Turnage, owner of Ioanni’s Grill says. Growling Pup Doesn’t Like Men, So This Vet Employs Hilariously Clever Disguise

Growling Pup Doesn’t Like Men, So This Vet Employs Hilariously Clever Disguise

Dr. Jeremy Echols is a veterinarian. He enters the room to begin an examination of a pint-sized pup. He finds himself face-to-face with a growling, snarling animal. While the dog’s mom quickly explains that her dog doesn’t like men, a lightbulb illuminates above the doctor’s head (not really, but pretend you see it). The vet excuses himself momentarily, returning in a flash in a disguise that wins the little dog’s heart. @vaquerodr.echols Dr. Jessica Echols reporting for duty #ranchhousepetmed #vaqueroveterinary ♬ Unknown – Kittok The vet’s solution was to give himself a quick makeover, changing from Jeremy to “Jessica.” Donning a long red wig, the vet re-entered the examination room and was an instant hit. Gone was the growling, snarling pup, and a happy, love-everyone pup took its place. Image from TikTok. As soon as he she entered the room, the formerly grumpy dog was all joyful jumps and happy yips. Sitting on the floor, Dr. “Jessica” even had a little playtime with the happy dog. They bounced and danced and got treats. While they may not teach his her approach at vet school, the vet’s disguise worked super well with this stubborn little patient. The doctor was completely into the role, swishing his her hair and bouncing around the room like a runway model. He she even changed the name on the door sign just in case the little dog could read it! Image from TikTok. It is difficult not to laugh at the humorous scene. At the same time, can we commend the vet for the genius disguise? A simple wig transformed this tiny growling dynamo into a happy and playful dog. The change was incredible and apparent as soon as the vet entered in disguise. Please share if this vet and grumpy dog gave you a big smile.
