The new Jaguar concept car has been revealed, and just like the woke advertising that preceded its debut, the electric vehicle is being mercilessly mocked online. The Type 00 two-door coupe has an extra long hood and a low roof with no rear window. Jaguar chief creative officer Gerry McGovern said of the vehicle, “When Jaguar was at its best, it threw away the design rulebook and created E-Type and the XJS; objects of desire.”  Futuristic design elements aside, the detail about the Type 00 that’s getting the most attention is the car’s colors: Satin Rhodon Rose, dubbed ‘Miami Pink,’ and Inception Silver Blue. The Jaguar brand redesign had already been making headlines as of last month after it premiered a bizarre ad with no cars in it. The colorful commercial included people dressed in vibrant, outlandish outfits, making gestures such as grabbing sledgehammers, painting over the camera lens, and striking poses. It also featured disjointed phrases such as “create exuberant,” “live vivid,” “delete ordinary,” “break molds,” and “copy nothing” on the screen. Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to the ad by asking, “Do you sell cars?” The car brand’s chief creative officer Gerry McGovern is quoted as saying, “Jaguar has its roots in originality. Sir William Lyons, our founder, believed that ‘a Jaguar should be a copy of nothing.’ Our vision for Jaguar today is informed by this philosophy. The prosecution and defense teams delivered their closing arguments on Monday in the case of Daniel Penny, who is on trial for his alleged role in the death of Jordan Neely. The defense portrayed Penny as a man who protected the other passengers on the subway train who testified they were afraid of Neely, The Daily Wire reported. Defense attorney Steve Raiser asked for jurors to put themselves on the train the day Neely died, using sound effects of closing doors and trains leaving a station. He also played police body camera footage of passengers talking about how they were afraid of Neely. “Who would you want on the next train with you?” Raiser asked jurors. “Danny acted when others didn’t,” Raiser added, according to the New York Post. “He put his life on the line. He did that for perfect strangers.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “Who would you want on the next train ride with you?” Raiser asked again near the end of his hours-long closing statements. “The guy on the train with the earbuds minding his own business, who you know will be there for you if something happens?” Raiser continued. “Or, you just hope someone like Neely never enters, especially when you’re all alone.” During her closing arguments, Manhattan prosecutor Dafna Yoran claimed that Penny, who is white, placed Neely, who is black, in a chokehold due to racial prejudices. Penny and witnesses have said that Neely was threatening passengers when Penny put him in the chokehold. Penny has not been charged with a hate crime. “He didn’t recognize that Jordan Neely was a person,” Yoran told the jury, according to Fox News. “He saw him as a person that needed to be eliminated.” Yoran also replayed footage from Penny’s first police interrogation, where he was not told Neely had died. Penny refers to Neely as a “crackhead” in the interrogation and told detectives, “You know these guys, they’re pushing people in front of trains and stuff.” This was a reference to the numerous people in New York City who have been pushed in front of subway trains by mentally ill individuals. “We’ve all spoken dismissively about people like Jordan Neely,” Yoran said, according to Fox. “Maybe we, too, have lumped them all together like this, but the context is very telling here. When the defendant is talking like this about Mr. Neely, he knows he very likely had killed him. Can you imagine a reasonable person speaking like this about a human being that he or she had just killed?” Penny didn’t know he had likely killed Neely. Neely had a pulse when police arrived and took over the situation. Yoran previously brought up race during her opening statement and allowed a witness to repeatedly refer to Penny as “the white guy” while she referred to him as “the white man.” The jury will likely begin deliberations on Tuesday. Penny faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of manslaughter or up to 4 years if he’s convicted on the lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared an “emergency martial law” on Tuesday to guard against what he deemed “threats of North Korean communist forces” operating within the South Korean government. “Dear citizens, I declare emergency martial law to defend the free Republic of Korea from the threats of North Korean communist forces and to eradicate the shameless pro-North Korean anti-state forces that are plundering the freedom and happiness of our people and to protect the free constitutional order,” he said. South Korea’s National Assembly was sealed off following his declaration, according to the country’s Yonhap news agency. “All political activities, including those of the National Assembly, local councils, political parties, and political associations, as well as assemblies and demonstrations, are strictly prohibited,” said martial law commander Park An-su in a statement. “All media and publications shall be subject to the control of the Martial Law Command.” In a speech, Yoon said that the political opposition inside the country had paralyzed the government’s ability to operate by initiating 22 impeachment proceedings against government officials over the last six months in addition to nearly a dozen more that were planned. “This is a situation that is not only unprecedented in any country in the world, but has never been seen since the founding of our country,” he said. “It is paralyzing the judiciary by intimidating judges and impeaching a number of prosecutors, and it is paralyzing the executive branch by trying to impeach the Minister of the Interior, the Chairman of the Communications Commission, the Chair of the Board of Audit, and the Defense Minister.” He said that the country’s security was being weakened by members of the National Assembly who had “undermined the essential functions of the state” by cutting key measures from the country’s national budget. When Sam Benastick planned a trip to Redfern-Kiely Provincial Park, he only intended to be gone for 10 days. So, when he had yet to return home as planned, his parents were quick to report him as missing. This Canadian park is known for its beauty, but it’s also quite isolated. Plus, it’s all the more dangerous during colder seasons. Miraculously, though, this missing hiker has been found alive after five whole weeks. During those five weeks, Sam managed to survive extremely harsh conditions. At night, there were points when the temperature dropped to -20 degrees Celsius (that’s -4 degrees Fahrenheit). And while he had a supply of food with him, he certainly didn’t have enough to last him five weeks.
