Man Commemorates Late Mom With Tattoo Of Her Diary Entry From Day He Was Born

Jake Bley’s mom, Nikki, passed away when he was 24 years old. She had leukemia, a form of cancer. At the time of her passing, Jake and his siblings each received their own box of things. These items were chosen by their mom, and they were specially chosen for each of them. Devastated by his loss, Jake didn’t open up the box immediately. In fact, it took him 10 years to take it home. But once he did, he quickly became inspired to get a tattoo in honor of his late mom. There were a few items placed in Jake’s box, including about 20 handwritten diaries. These diaries go as far back as when Nikki was a child. But one of them was from the year Jake was born. Better yet, there is an entry from the very day that Jake was born. What she wrote that day was simple: “Only a little fellow.” But finding these words meant the world to Jake. So much so, he decided to get a tattoo with the sentence in his mom’s handwriting. @jakebley TW: GRIEF. I know shes watching over me. #Tattoo #Grief #griefjourney ♬ BIRDS OF A FEATHER – Billie Eilish So, on the 10th anniversary of Nikki’s death, Jake took a day off work so he could get his very first tattoo. He shared this moment online where it quickly went viral. Grief is something we can all understand, so seeing Jake honor a lost loved one in this way resonates with so many. Man’s Very First Tattoo Honors His Late Mom a Decade After Her Death Today marks 10 years since my mother passed away from leukemia. As a parting gift she gave each of her children a present. Mine was her diaries, hand written since she was a little girl. This is what she wrote the night I was born. It’s now my first tattoo. pic.twitter.com/VJFsHUyQ5o— Jake (@jakebley) June 26, 2024 Now that Jake has so many people’s attention, he is sharing the best piece of advice his mother ever gave. “There’s things that she said to me when she was alive, about there is a difference between being kind and being nice. Being nice there’s pageantries, being kind is deeper,” Jake shares. “You can say something to someone that they may not like hearing, but you’re being kind. It’s a lot more about intent. Kindness goes a lot further, kindness builds trust. And I trusted her wholeheartedly.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here! Florida Man Deploys ‘Subliminal’ Advertising to Incite Happiness Through Viral Sign-Hanging Campaign

“That’s 602,” says Gary King, climbing down from a ladder propped up against a telephone poll, a red and white sign reading “HAPPINESS” newly affixed to its side. “All I’m doing is subliminal experiments using one word, one word. This word has been around forever but where do you see it? You don’t.” King has […] The post Florida Man Deploys ‘Subliminal’ Advertising to Incite Happiness Through Viral Sign-Hanging Campaign appeared first on Good News Network.

Exhumed Nun’s Body Shows Unexplained Preservation, Analysis Reveals

Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster died on May 29, 2019, and was buried within days in a grave on the property of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles monastery in Gower, Mo. She was buried without any embalming or other treatment of her body, in a simple unsealed wooden casket. Following the exhumation of the body of Sister Wilhelmina on April 28, 2023, for the purpose of moving her body into the Abbey church for interment, it was discovered that her body did not exhibit signs of decomposition that would normally have occurred after nearly four years of burial under the conditions described above. On May 24, 2023, as the Bishop of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, I commissioned a team of local medical experts to conduct an examination and evaluation of Sister Wilhelmina’s body. The team was led by a Doctor of Pathology, who was assisted by two other medical doctors and a former Missouri county coroner. In addition to examining and evaluating the mortal remains of the deceased, the team inspected the casket, and interviews were conducted with eyewitnesses to events immediately preceding the burial in 2019 and the exhumation in April 2023. In the final report, the investigative team noted that the condition of Sister Wilhelmina’s body during the examination was notable for a lack of any detected features of decomposition. The lining of her casket had completely deteriorated, but her habit and clothing showed no features of breakdown. The report also noted that the related history of Sister Wilhelmina’s death and interment does not describe conditions that would be expected to protect against decomposition. The investigative team was only able to conduct a limited examination but still concluded that “the condition of her body is highly atypical for the interval of nearly four years since her death, especially given the environmental conditions and the findings in associated objects.” Along with the evaluation by medical experts, additional tests were soon conducted on the soil in which the burial took place. After analysis, no unusual elements were found which would have impacted the condition of Sister Wilhelmina’s body when it was exhumed. In conclusion, within the limits of what has been observed during this time, the body of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster does not appear to have experienced the decomposition that would have normally been expected under such previous burial conditions. Spine is a high-octane fusion of Sifu and Mirror’s Edge

When all's said and done, it's tough to beat feeling cool in a videogame. At Gamescom 2024, I sat down for a hands-off demonstration of Spine, the upcoming gun-fu adventure from animation experts Nekki, and while it's tough to estimate exactly how it feels without having the controller in my hands, what I saw definitely sparked my interest.
