Or maybe you were 17 or 18 years old, riding a Harley Davidson, hoping nobody would see your secret stash of Partridge Family cassettes. We know, and we know that you know we know. You know what I mean? So stand up and let it all out. You loved these The post Ten 1970s Songs Rock Fans Are Embarrassed To Say They Loved appeared first on ClassicRockHistory.com.

Here Are Times Biden, KJP Promised President Wouldn’t Pardon Hunter Before Breaking His Word

DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—President Joe Biden and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on several occasions that Biden would not issue a pardon for his son, Hunter, prior to announcing that he had reversed his position on Sunday. Biden said in a statement released Sunday that he issued the pardon because Hunter had been “singled out” due to being the president’s son, alleging that “political opponents” were seeking to “break” both him and his son. Prior to the statement, Biden and Jean-Pierre repeatedly said no pardon would be granted to Hunter Biden. “No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son—and that is wrong,” Biden said in the statement. “There has been an effort to break Hunter—who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me—and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here.” Biden and Jean-Pierre previously denied that Hunter Biden would be pardoned on several occasions, including a one-word response by Jean-Pierre during a July 27, 2023, press briefing. Here's Karine Jean-Pierre saying over an over again that Joe Biden will absolutely not pardon his son Hunter…She claimed he wouldn't on at least 4 separate occasions. It's the supercut you didn't know you needed. pic.twitter.com/3lwBVrzzK3— Tim Young (@TimRunsHisMouth) December 2, 2024 “No,” Jean-Pierre said when asked if Biden was open to issuing a pardon after a plea bargain collapsed when United States District Judge Maryellen Noreika questioned the arrangement during a July 26, 2023, hearing. Jean-Pierre repeated the denial on at least three other occasions, according to a supercut posted on X Sunday night. Another video posted on X showed Jean-Pierre denying that Biden would ask President-elect Donald Trump to pardon Hunter Biden in November. WATCH: Just three weeks ago Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if Joe Biden would pardon his son: pic.twitter.com/66Y8JBTRFh— I Meme Therefore I Am ?? (@ImMeme0) December 2, 2024 Biden also said he would not pardon his son on several occasions, including at least two instances in June, including an interview with ABC News anchor David Muir while in France and when answering questions from reporters on June 13. “Yes,” Biden said when Muir asked if he had ruled out pardoning his son. WATCH: “I said I’d abide by the jury decision, and I will do that. And I will not pardon him,” Biden said during a joint press appearance with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a jury in Delaware convicted Hunter Biden on three charges in connection with the purchase of a Colt .38-caliber revolver. The president’s son entered a guilty plea on federal tax charges in September. WATCH: President Biden says he will not pardon his son Hunter and will "abide by the jury's decision" after Hunter was convicted this week of federal gun charges."I'm extremely proud of my son, Hunter. He has overcome an addiction. He's one of the brightest, most decent men I know." pic.twitter.com/wtS6U5R7ao— CBS News (@CBSNews) June 13, 2024 White House spokesman Andrew Bates also denied Biden had changed his mind during a Nov. 26 press gaggle. Trump said during an Oct. 24 interview with Hugh Hewitt that he was open to pardoning Hunter Biden. UNESCO’s New Mission: Train Influencers About Combatting Online “Misinformation”

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is now incorporating teaching influencers how to “fact check” into its activities. UNESCO claims that influencers have become “primary sources of news and cultural information” around the world – which prompted it to carry out a survey into how these online personalities verify the “news” they present. Related: World Leaders Sign New Censorship Declaration at UN Event While Secretary-General António Guterres Pushed for Increased Online Censorship Citizens in UN member-countries may or may not be happy that this is how their taxpayer money funding the world organization is being spent these days. But UNESCO is not only conducting surveys; it is also developing a training course for said influencers (which are also interchangeably referred to as content creators in press releases). It’s meant to teach them not only to “report misinformation, disinformation and hate speech” but also to collaborate with legacy media and these outlets’ journalists, in order to “amplify fact-based information.” The survey, “Behind the screens,” was done together with researchers from the US Bowling Green State University. 500 influencers from 45 countries took part, and the key findings, UNESCO said, are that 63 percent of them “lack rigorous and systematic fact-checking protocols” – but also, that 73% said they “want to be trained.” This UN agency also frames the results as showing that respondents are “struggling” with disinformation and hate speech and are “calling for more training.” UNESCO is justifying its effort to teach influencers to “rigorously” check facts by referring to its media and information literacy mandate. The report laments that mainstream media has become “only the third most common source (36.9%) for content creators, after their own experience and their own research and interviews.” It would seem content creators/influencers are driven by common sense, but UNESCO wants them to forge closer ties with journalists (specifically those from legacy, i.e., traditional media – UNESCO appears very eager to stress that multiple times.) Related: United Nations Development Program Urges Governments to Push Digital ID Under the guise of concern, the agency also essentially warns creators/influencers that they should be better aware of regulations and “international standards” that pertain to digital media – in order to avoid “legal uncertainty” that exposes them to “prosecution and conviction in some countries.” And now, UNESCO and US-based Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas have launched a one-month course which is currently involving 9,000 people from 160 countries. The goal is to train them to “address disinformation and hate speech and provide them with a solid grounding in global human rights standards.” The initiative looks like an attempt to get “traditional” journalists to influence the influencers, and try to prop up their outlets, that are experiencing an erosion in trust among their audiences. NPR and NY Times: ‘Disillusioned' by Election, 'Some Black Women Are Deciding to Rest’

NPR and NY Times: ‘Disillusioned' by Election, 'Some Black Women Are Deciding to Rest’

Wokeness may be heading for a long winter's nap, if recent New York Times and National Public Radio stories are to be believed, regarding how liberal black women are dealing with Donald Trump’s re-election (in summary: not well, especially if they work in the electorally and intellectually discredited field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion -- DEI for short). The November 28 NPR story by Sandhya Dirks was high on liberal self-pity: “'Tired. Damn tired.' Some Black women are processing the grief of a Kamala Harris loss.” Some of them were granted anonymity for their complaints: There was a refrain we heard again and again from the seven Black women NPR talked with for this story. "It is exhausting," says Venita Doggett, who lives in Memphis, Tenn., and works for a nonprofit doing education advocacy. "We're tired. We're damn tired," another woman told us. She asked NPR not to use her name because she works in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at a public university in Minnesota, and she fears that a lot of people who work in and around DEI are being targeted right now. This feeling of being under threat as a Black person, as a woman, and especially as a Black woman feels non-stop, she says, even before the presidential election. …. The woman from Minnesota says there's constant pressure to engage politically, an unrelenting narrative that Black women will save democracy. But she asks, who is going to save Black women? America just isn’t living up to liberal activist expectations. "In a world that often boxes us in and beats us down, we can't act like we're not bruised," she says. "We have to take care of ourselves. We have to tend to our wounds." Venita Doggett blamed everyone: "I just thought, like, you definitely hate Black women," she says, referring to the many people who voted for Trump, and against Harris. "You really hate us. Us, who essentially birthed the nation literally out of our bodies — snatched children out of our wombs to build the U.S." “Snatching children out of our wombs” is an unfortunate description of slavery, given that Kamala Harris tried to ride the abortion rights issue to the White House. Another woman, Bonita Buford of North Carolina, “says she also feels betrayed, especially by white women voters.” Yes, the left remains undefeated at feeling sorry for themselves. (All capital-B’s for “black” were included in the original articles.) Also eye-roll worthy was this November 19 story by Katie Mogg, health and wellness reporter for the New York Times. Guess what? There’s more DEI jobs under threat and more silly capitalizations of the word “Black” (“white” was not capitalized): “Disillusioned by the Election, Some Black Women Are Deciding to Rest.” Cheri Hall woke up hours before dawn the morning after Election Day and checked her phone anxiously for results. A news notification hinting that former President Donald J. Trump had defeated Vice President Kamala Harris caused her to gasp and grab her chest. “I felt it in my entire body,” said Ms. Hall, 49, who is a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant in Washington, D.C. “I was heartbroken.” …. “Our feelings are hurt,” said Vernique Esther Ofili, 31, a licensed clinical social worker and therapist in Atlanta. “We get to decide how we respond.” …. So what does a “rest era” look like? In interviews and online, some Black women said it could mean striving for more sleep, declining extra responsibilities at work or exploring new hobbies…. In other words, push more work on everyone else while you stew about the election results? And this sounds like sneaky socialism: The push for Black women to prioritize self-preservation has been percolating for years, said Tricia Hersey, the founder of the Nap Ministry, an organization that has promoted rest as a form of resistance against productivity-obsessed cultures….

‘Great Gift, the Gift of Freedom’: The View Cheers Hunter Biden Pardon

Christmas came early over the weekend for the Cackling Coven of ABC’s The View. They got their wish that President Biden pardon his son for his tax and gun crimes. On Monday’s show, fake Republican Ana Navarro boasted about lobbying Biden for this outcome and called it the greatest gift of all “the gift of freedom,” meanwhile moderator Whoopi Goldberg was lashing out and raging at those who called Biden out for being a liar. Of course, since they were an ABC News property, they didn’t tell the whole truth that the pardon also covered financial crimes dating back to Biden’s time as vice president, which hadn’t been charged yet. “Yesterday Biden had a change of heart granting his son a full pardon on tax evasion and federal gun charges,” Goldberg said. After decrying some of President-elect Trump’s pardons from his first term, Goldberg engaged in some major whataboutism to write off the Hunter pardon as just par for the course and dismiss the “pearl-clutching”: You know, it is a president's prerogative. People can say, why are you doing that? That's what presidents do every time. They do it every time. They pardon somebody. So I'm not sure where the pearl-clutching is happening now except that that's what folks want to do, but it seems kind of foolish. You kind of knew he was going to do it given all that's happened, but maybe I'm just kooky. Anti-Trump Republican Alyssa Farah Griffin pushed back and warned that the pardon “feeds the notion to a lot of this country that there's simply a different set of rules for folks in power.” “Most Americans, if they face consequences for actions that they took, they're going to have to face them, and nobody powerfully and politically connected is going to come sweep in and save them,” she argued.     Farah Griffin also called Biden out for “lying to the public” about not pardoning Hunter: Secondly, I take issue with lying about it. I wanted to ask him here when he came on The View, but the thought was he said so many times he wasn't going to pardon him. That to me is lying to the public. I felt bad for Karine Jean-Pierre that she repeatedly had to say he wasn't going to pardon him. This is why people don't trust Washington, that’s why they don’t trust politicians. Former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin huffed: “Please with the hypocritical pearl-clutching by this country!” Laughably citing former Attorney General Eric Holder, who was held in contempt of Congress and who gifted guns to Mexican drug cartels, Hostin declared: “The only reason that Hunter Biden was gone after and charged, indicted, and found guilty was because his name wasn't Joe Smith; it was Hunter Biden! And that's the truth of it. You have got Eric Holder saying it. You've got former prosecutors like myself saying it.” She also defended the lies Biden was telling about a possible pardon, saying, “I think one of the reasons he didn't admit it earlier was because he didn't know the felon-in-chief would become the next president.” Navarro, a lobbyist who will cozy up to anyone in American politics who controlled the levers of power for her own benefit, bragged about lobbying Biden to pardon his son: So, you know, I actually talked to Joe Biden about this when he was on the show. I told him, I hoped he pardoned Hunter. I went to speak at the Biden Institute in Delaware, like a month later, and we talked on the phone and I told him, I hoped he pardoned Hunter. I left him a handwritten note at his desk at the University of Delaware and told him, I hoped he pardoned Hunter. She went on to bloviate about how Biden had given his son a “the gift of freedom” and she hoped he would use it to be a “good father” himself (despite the fact he had already abandoned his daughter): Hunter, your dad has given you a great, great gift, the gift of freedom, and taking this weight off your shoulders. I hope now Hunter gives his dad a gift, the gift of being a good son, a good father, a good grandfather, a good human being, leading a productive life…And staying clean for the rest of his life. So, I hope that this goes both ways. Farah Griffin once again called Biden out for lying about the pardon, which caused snowflake Goldberg to have a meltdown and shout her down: FARAH GRIFFIN: I respect it as a parent. I understand why he would do it, but I wanted to understand why lie about it for so long? GOLDBERG: I would stop – I’d stop calling it a lie! FARAH GRIFFIN: Okay. Why repeatedly say you're not going to, and you do? (…) FARAH GRIFFIN: I think he thought he was going to win and I just wish he would have been honest with the public. This triggered Goldberg. Becoming unglued, Goldberg argued that since Biden was still “the sitting president, and he can do whatever he wants to until his time is up.” “I can't believe this is what's freaking people out!” Goldberg screeched. She had seemingly had enough of talking about Biden’s lies and brought the segment to a grinding halt: “But, you know, you know what? What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. He did what he did! We're moving on! We’ll be right back.” The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View December 2, 2024 11:03:01 a.m. Eastern (…) WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Yesterday Biden had a change of heart granting his son a full pardon on tax evasion and federal gun charges. He released a statement that, quote, says, “no reasonable person who looks at the facts can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out because he is my son. That is wrong, and there's no reason to believe it will stop here. Now, I hope Americans will understand why a father and a president would come to this decision.” So the question is, will people understand? You know, listen. I get it. We got a convicted felon as president. SUNNY HOSTIN: Yes. Yes. GOLDBERG: It's hard for me to -- [Applause] HOSTIN: Yes. Say it. Yes. GOLDBERG: And I know that -- that you-know-who’s been asking, you know, are you going to pardon the January 6th folks? Actually, probably not, but [long pause] I kind of feel like -- I look at the list of folks that you-know-who pardoned during the first term. He granted 237 acts of clemency, 143 pardons, and 94 commutations, including Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Charles Kushner, Steve Bannon, George Papadopoulos, Albert Pirro, and Lil Wayne. HOSTIN: Everybody. GOLDBERG: Everybody. ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: I forgot about Lil Wayne. GOLDBERG: You know, it is a president's prerogative. (…) 11:05:18 a.m. Eastern FARAH GRIFFIN: Most Americans, if they face consequences for actions that they took, they're going to have to face them, and nobody powerfully and politically connected is going to come sweep in and save them. And I think A. this feeds the notion to a lot of this country that there's simply a different set of rules for folks in power. And when we sit here and say a lot, like, ‘well, Donald Trump did X, Y, and Z, and how did he get elected?’ Cause to a lot of this country, it just becomes noise. They think if you commit crimes and somebody powerful and connected in D.C., right, left, center, Biden, Trump, you're going to be able to get away with it if you have someone on your side; and that’s not how it is for everyday folks. Secondly, I take issue with lying about it. And I know a lot of us like Joe Biden, but I find it disappointing and bad for our institutions. (…) 11:07:15 a.m. Eastern HOSTIN: Please with the hypocritical pearl-clutching by this country! Eric Holder, I think, said it really well, “No U.S. Attorney would have charged this case given the underlying facts that had been investigated for five years.” Less than -- get this -- .09 percent of people are prosecuted – are indicted, prosecuted, charged, and found guilty of lying on a gun form. The only reason that Hunter Biden was gone after and charged, indicted, and found guilty was because his name wasn't Joe Smith; it was Hunter Biden! And that's the truth of it. You have got Eric Holder saying it. You've got former prosecutors like myself saying it. So – FARAH GRIFFIN: Why didn't he admit it earlier? GOLDBERG: Wait. Wait. Wait. [Crosstalk] HOSTIN: I think one of the reasons he didn't admit it earlier was because he didn't know the felon-in-chief would become the next president. GOLDBERG: Let me let Ana speak. ANA NAVARRO: So, you know, I actually talked to Joe Biden about this when he was on the show. I told him, I hoped he pardoned Hunter. HOSTIN: You did. I remember. NAVARRO: I went to speak at the Biden Institute in Delaware, like a month later, and we talked on the phone and I told him, I hoped he pardoned Hunter. I left him a handwritten note at his desk at the University of Delaware and told him, I hoped he pardoned Hunter. And the reason I thought it was important is because I wanted him to hear from people who support him and respect him, which I do, that some of us, I’d say most of us, think it's okay for him to pardon Hunter because of what you just said. (…) 11:09:40 a.m. Eastern NAVARRO: Hunter, your dad has given you a great, great gift, the gift of freedom, and taking this weight off your shoulders. I hope now Hunter gives his dad a gift, the gift of being a good son, a good father, a good grandfather, a good human being, leading a productive life -- FARAH GRIFFIN: Can I say something? NAVARRO: Can I finish? And staying clean for the rest of his life. So, I hope that this goes both ways. [Applause and crosstalk] FARAH GRIFFIN: I respect it as a parent. I understand why he would do it, but I wanted to understand why lie about it for so long? GOLDBERG: I would stop – I’d stop calling it a lie! FARAH GRIFFIN: Okay. Why repeatedly say you're not going to, and you do? And secondarily, for the part of this country, half that doesn't support Biden, doesn’t know him personally, doesn't get to have phone calls and they're just looking at a system that seems like it’s only benefits the people who are in power. GOLDBERG [Interrupting]: Well, I’m going to say – FARAH GRIFFIN: What precedent does that set? GOLDBERG: Well, here’s that it sets. It sets a precedent for all of us to open our eyes because we've elected somebody who is in a similar situation, who didn't have a drug problem, who knew what he was doing, who clearly stood and said, ‘I can do this,’ and he did it. So, I think for many, many reasons, this is very different than any other situation that we have ever dealt with because when we're talking about who gets a pardon and who doesn't get a pardon - This man, I think, Biden had no intentions of pardoning Hunter, and I think the more stuff that went down, I think he said, ‘well, why am I busting my behind to stay straight and do this when nobody is -- when no one else is doing it.’ FARAH GRIFFIN: I think he thought he was going to win and I just wish he would have been honest with the public. (…) 11:12:04 a.m. Eastern GOLDBERG: And look, he's the president, the sitting president, and he can do whatever he wants to until his time is up. [Crosstalk] FARAH GRIFFIN: Donald Trump is about to be president. GOLDBERG: [Struggles to get words out] FARAH GRIFFIN: The presidency should be bigger than his feelings and even his immediate family. GOLDBERG: You know, it should be but it isn’t! HOSTIN: He's a very small, small man. That will never happen with Donald Trump, ever. GOLDBERG: I can't believe this is what's freaking people out! That this is the thing that says, oh, well see? FARAH GRIFFIN: Precedence matters. GOLDBERG: It does, but I'm noticing the man who would not normally be able to even vote for president is the president. FARAH GRIFFIN: Because people don't trust our system. GOLDBERG: But, you know, you know what? What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. He did what he did! We're moving on! We'll be right back.

Texas doctor encourages illegal alien patients to skip citizenship question — Abbott warns hospital he’ll pull funding

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) threatened to pull state funding from a local hospital last week after one of its doctors encouraged patients to defy his executive order regarding citizenship.Dr. Tony Pastor, a cardiologist at Texas Children's Hospital and assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, posted a video on TikTok on November 11 that was viewed more than 1 million times before it was deleted. 'There will be consequences.'In the video, Pastor told his followers that he and his colleagues at the hospital had been informed that patients could skip an intake form question inquiring about their citizenship status.Pastor said, "So my proposal to everyone who's seeing this is, just know that you do not have to answer this question."Abbott responded to Pastor's statements on November 24, warning the hospital that the doctor was "putting [its] Medicaid & Medicare funding at risk.""[You] better think twice & have crystal clear records. There will be consequences for failing to follow the law in the Order," Abbott wrote.Pastor posted additional videos on TikTok addressing the governor's response. He captioned one video, writing, "When the gov of Texas threatens you on twitter because he is mad you exercised freedom of speech."Pastor stated in another video, "This new law that's asking hospitals for immigration status is under the guise of trying to get data on how much money we're spending on undocumented patients.""The reason I have an issue with that is that if you really, truly cared about patients and spending, and both, in Texas, then why are we one of 10 states that has not accepted Medicaid expansion?" Pastor continued. Texas Children's Hospital has vowed to cooperate with Abbott's executive order."Texas Children's fully supports Governor Abbott's new Executive Order and is in full compliance," it stated. "We have worked closely with the Texas Hospital Association and our industry partners across the state to ensure compliance in advance of the effective date."The hospital's statement continued, "While we recognize that individuals working at Texas Children's hold their own personal views on many topics, those opinions do not necessarily reflect the official position of Texas Children's Hospital. We will continue to prioritize patient care while ensuring we are in full compliance with all laws and legal directives."The governor's executive order went into effect on November 1, requiring hospitals receiving Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Plan to add "Are you a U.S. citizen?" to intake forms. Abbott, who issued the order in August, stated that it would allow Texas to track how much the state's taxpayers are spending on care for illegal aliens due to the current administration's open-border policies."Due to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' open border policies, Texas has had to foot the bill for medical costs for individuals illegally in the state," Abbott stated. "Texans should not have to shoulder the burden of financially supporting medical care for illegal immigrants." "Texas will hold the Biden-Harris Administration accountable for the consequences of their open border policies, and we will fight to ensure that they pay back Texas for their costly and dangerous policies," he declared.Like Blaze News? Journalist John Harwood gets hammered over previous claim about Hunter Biden pardon

Mainstream media journalist John Harwood was mocked into oblivion for a June post about the possibility of a presidential pardon for Hunter Biden. Harwood appeared to deride the character of those who did not believe President Joe Biden's statements that he would not pardon his son over numerous charges, including gun and tax crimes. 'He is an example of why no one trusts the press anymore.' "People who insist Biden will pardon Hunter after specifically ruling it out are telling on themselves," he wrote, "they can't imagine someone acting on principle and keeping his word." Harwood's tweet has since been amended with a community note to document that Biden had indeed issued a sweeping pardon for his son on Sunday, about six months later. Critics pounced onto social media to mock and deride Harwood while others demanded a retraction and apology. "This is a man once retained by CNBC, CNN, and the New York Times to be a supposedly objective analyst. He is an example of why no one trusts the press anymore," responded radio talk host Erick Erickson. "There are people like this. But Joe Biden was never one of them, and the attempt to pretend otherwise has made fools of an enormous number of people," replied Charles C.W. Cooke of the National Review. "One of these days, John Harwood is going to be right about something," said writer Jon Miltimore. "Is there nothing you get right? Ever?" replied commentator John Podhoretz. "If you didn’t see this coming and argued that it *wasn’t going to happen* (in this case, smugly), I genuinely think you should remove yourself from public life," said Joe Simonson of the Free Beacon. Biden justified his pardon of his son by claiming that Hunter Biden had been unfairly targeted for political reasons. Critics pointed out that the pardon was suspiciously sweeping in nature and hinted at further possible crimes being covered up. "This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later Presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation," said Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis. "Hunter brought the legal trouble he faced on himself, and one can sympathize with his struggles while also acknowledging that no one is above the law, not a President and not a President's son."Like Blaze News?
