Koe Wetzel Announces ‘Wetzel’s Wonderland… Chapter 2’ Christmas EP Dropping This Friday

Santa Koe is BACK. Today, Koe Wetzel announced part 2 of his Christmas EP, titled Wetzel's Wonderland... Chapter 2, will be out everywhere this Friday, December 6th: https://www.instagram.com/p/DDFWohsRgYh/ Of course, he put out his first Christmas EP Koe Wetzel Presents… Wetzel’s Wonderland last year, which included holiday standards in Elvis Presley’s “Blue Christmas,” Bing Crosby’s “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” and Charles Brown’s “Please Come Home For Christmas,” that all have a bit of a country twist and updated production. Chapter 2 will feature three covers of Christmas staples including "Run Run Rudolph," "Merry Christmas Baby," "Silver Bells" and more. Koe says he "loves Christmas," and wanted to reimagine some of his favorite classic for fans this holiday season: "I f*****g love Christmas. It is always a big deal in the Wetzel household, and we wanted to put our own spin on some more holiday classics for you. Ho Ho Ho from Uncle Koe!" Koe previously announced two special Christmas-themed shows that will take place on Friday, December 27th and Saturday, December 28th in Austin at the Moody Center and Fort Worth at Dickie's Arena, respectively, so I'm sure fans attending those concerts will get to hear all of the songs from both of these holiday projects, as well as some of his fan-favorite originals. Morgan Wade and Stephen Wilson, Jr. will open for Koe at both shows, and I would absolutely love to see a show with the three of them on one bill, so if you're lucky enough to attend, I think you're in for a real treat. Koe of coures announced the EP in a very unique way, with an animated Youtube video, that finds him hanging onto Santa's sleigh with a beer in-hand, trying to catch a ride and it went pretty much how'd you expect... "What the sh*t Santa?" Santa tells him he's on the naughty list, but Koe's not having it: "That's why you're on the naughty list. I'm too old for this foolishness. Well that's it for you, Ropyr Madison, naughty list for life. Let's go reindeer, we've got more kids to see. Ho, ho ho, Merry Christmas. Jumping jingle bless, what's going on back there? Koe asks for help to get on the sleigh, but he doesn't make it with a beer in his hand: "You can't just hop in the sleigh, Koe. Especially with v beer. They'll give you an SUI... sleighing under the influence." He tries to plead his case to get back on the nice list.... "I mean, does it really even matter? I've still coal in my stocking from last year, I've got a busted lip right now, I'm bleeding, hey, I'm just saying..." But Santa sees everything, and he doesn't love some of Koe's wall art, apparently: "I saw those reindeer antlers on your wall, they were not deer." I think that makes it pretty clear that he probably didn't get back on the nice list... you can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxxLiFC1ZNk The full tracklist is below. Koe Wetzel Presents…Wetzel’s Wonderland Chapter 2 tracklist: ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas (performed by Ben Burgess) Run Run Rudolph Merry Christmas Baby Silver Bells Please Come Home for Christmas Blue Christmas I’ll Be Home For Christmas You can listen to his first three Christmas covers here: "I'll Be Home For Christmas" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-Ef956r1xU "Please Come Home For Christmas" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPXXzTMqy70 "Blue Christmas" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvi5vrrEG9o

“Never Had Any Visions Of Major Success” – Riley Green Thought He’d Build Houses & Play Cover Songs The Rest Of His Life

From building houses to being a CMA Award winner... you never know what the future might hold. Riley Green has more than solidified his seat at the table of country music stars after releasing his stellar record, Don't Mind If I Do, and winning his first-ever CMA Award. It seems he and Ella Langley have been riding a high since releasing their hit duet "You Look Like You Love Me," and they are reaching major career milestones together. https://twitter.com/CountryMusic/status/1859375478689366516?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1859375478689366516%7Ctwgr%5E4b87d793d212ae0f5ca2a86e9b8201fb71248887%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2024%2F11%2F20%2Fella-langley-riley-green-win-cma-you-look-like-you-love-me%2F However, for Riley Green, he had no idea this was what his future would hold. Recently, Riley Green appeared on the God's Country Podcast and shared that he never thought he'd reach commercial success with his music and was comfortable playing the local dive bars for the rest of his life. "I never had any visions of major success. Like sign a record deal...no...and I know there are people who always dreamed... I played three sports in school and played a little football in college; I assumed I was going to play a couple of shows on the weekend for $150 a night and build houses for the rest of my life. That's just what I thought I was going to do." Green then elaborates that it was even more shocking that people related to his songwriting when he began to pen his own tunes because he never saw himself as a songwriter. "I didn't write because I thought I was good at writing songs. I got tired of playing the same covers all the time, so I tried to write some stuff that people might think is funny or whatever..." Never stop chasing those dreams, folks, because Riley Green is living proof that you never know what might happen. From building houses and playing at Flora-Bama to having a short reality TV stint once he realized people liked his music to now appearing on Brooks & Dunn records, Riley Green has worked his way from the ground up. @godscountrypodcas From building houses to a #CMA Awards Winner ?. @Riley Green on #godscountry talking music, songwriting, and his #nashville #countrymusic journey. #rileygreen #construction #dreambig #countryboy #songwriter #podcast ♬ original sound - thegodscountrypodcast Honestly, it's giving a little bit of that Jaguars legend Blake Bortles energy... and I love it: https://twitter.com/_MLFootball/status/1851342362901168595 The entire episode highlights how humble Green is and how he has taken every blessing from his music career and run with it. This one comment perfectly sums up why he's so loved in the music industry. "I think this is why everyone loves this man as much as we do; he’s genuinely out here having fun with the life he’s been blessed with and remains humble through it all." While Green is humble and thankful that this is his life today, later in the episode, he talks about how, sometimes, living this hectic life can be unfulfilling. From going to singing just for fun to making it his career, there are times that he has to remind himself how lucky he is to be doing this for a living. Riley Green compares the lyrics of Merle Haggard’s “The Way I Am,” his favorite song, and how he sometimes relates to a specific line of the lyrics. “That song feels very relevant to me where I am at in my life. ‘Wish I enjoyed what makes my living,’ obviously I love playing country music and traveling on the road. But there are moments when I find myself dreading something I’ve got to go do. I’ve got to take a step back and go, ‘This is awesome.’ Y’all know what I’m talking about. When you do so much and are spread so thin.” Chasing those dreams and making them come true is a double-edged sword. While living your life in the limelight offers a lot of opportunity, it also involves constant travel, a nonstop schedule, sacrifice to personal relationships and family, and little downtime. I am sure Green is not the only country star who has felt these same feelings. Check out this whole God's Country Podcast interview while you're here. It is authentic and raw, highlighting that Riley Green seems like a stand-up dude. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuW0NvLAtSs
