Depression is definitely our body’s way of alerting us that something’s wrong and things need to change. Depression is an essential emotion that is very normal, anti-depressants used long term stop us from figuring out what we need to do to lift ourselves back up to where we need to be. Depression is a healthy emotion because coming out of a depressive state brings new beginnings, we’re not taught that, we’re told it’s a permanent “disease” or genetic flaw that requires medication be taken permanently. Most of the people I know that experience intense lows all seem to have something very much in common, they tend to be very deep thinkers, they seem to be some of THE MOST awake people out there, they realise shit’s not right in the world and haven’t figured out that what they see is actually true and haven’t learnt how to lift it, because others are too busy telling them they’re crazy.
