Ted Cruz Blasts Kamala Harris’ ‘Soviet-Style’ Economic Agenda: ‘An Absolute Train Wreck’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ newly unveiled economic agenda utilizing price controls this week, warning that her agenda closely resembles “Soviet-style” policies that failed. Cruz made the remarks during the most recent episode of his “Verdict” podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson while discussing the proposal. “Queen Kamala, the federal government czar, is going to set prices, well, not on anything that matters, just food, just groceries, just what you feed your children and your family,” Cruz said. “That the federal government is now going to be in the business that the Soviet Union, their government, was in for a long time, deciding the prices of goods the people need and want. The only problem is history has shown that is absolutely disastrous.” Cruz noted that the reason inflation has been such a problem over the past few years under the Biden-Harris administration is because “the Democrats spent a crap-ton of money they didn’t have, and they grew the money supply.” “There are a lot more dollars — if there are a lot more dollars, the price of everything goes up,” he said. “But secondly, there’s a second component of inflation, which is for four years, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have waged a war on energy, and in particular, oil and gas.” Cruz explained how the Biden-Harris administration’s war on the oil and gas industry has made every product more expensive, especially food. “When it comes to food, a big driver of the cost of food is the cost of fertilizer. And fertilizer, natural gas is a major ingredient. Energy costs are a major ingredient in the cost of fertilizer,” he said. “Every one of those trucks run on diesel as well, and so by waging a war on oil and gas, Kamala Harris is directly responsible for causing a massive increase on the cost of food at the grocery store.” He noted that she now has a serious political problem to contend with because the policies she supported have harmed millions of Americans who will be voting in the upcoming election, yet she can’t admit it. Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. “So instead, what is their solution? The government will magically decree prices will be lower,” he said. “Her solution is an absolute train wreck. It is a disaster. It would hurt the American people badly. But understand she doesn’t know this. Far too few Democrats in Washington even have a basic understanding of economics.” Kamala Harris’s war on energy is a major driver of inflation. By driving up the cost of energy, the price of food has skyrocketed. Instead of fixing the inflation that she caused, Kamala Harris’s proposed solution is Soviet-style price controls on food.https://t.co/ZyQmvDWgPc pic.twitter.com/vL5phatG28 — Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) August 16, 2024

Supreme Court rejects Biden admin request to reinstate rules on LGBTQ+ students in colleges

The U.S. Supreme Court sided against the Biden administration's request to reinstate parts of its rule change on sexual identity in colleges and public schools. In April, President Joe Biden changed the regulations in Title IX to include protections for LGBTQ+ students, but a number of states filed a lawsuit to challenge his unilateral action. 'We’re fighting to keep the wins coming against the Biden-Harris war on women!'The Biden administration was requesting that the rule be partially reinstated until the court can make a final decision, but the court disagreed and allowed the states to continue restricting implementation of the rules until the matter is settled. The decision was passed 5-4 with Justice Neil Gorsuch joining the liberal justices in their dissent. While they disagreed on the parts of the ruling in the request from the Biden administration, all of the justices agreed on the central parts of the order. "Importantly, all Members of the Court today accept that the plaintiffs were entitled to preliminary injunctive relief as to three provisions of the rule, including the central provision that newly defines sex discrimination to include discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity," read the majority opinion. The rules will remain blocked in 26 states as the litigation continues. Republicans from four of the states argued that the ruling would "radically impact" schools, teachers, and families right as the new school year started. Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird praised the ruling. "The US Supreme Court just shut down the Biden-Harris Admin’s latest attempt to violate girls’ privacy by forcing them to share locker rooms & shower spaces with boys. We’re fighting to keep the wins coming against the Biden-Harris war on women!" she wrote on X. Former Trump Education Secretary Betsy DeVos also praised the ruling after criticizing Biden in April."The Biden Administration's radical rewrite of Title IX guts the half century of protections and opportunities for women and callously replaces them with radical gender theory, as Biden's far-left political base demanded. This regulation is an assault on women and girls," said DeVos.Transgender rights will be a contentious issue in the 2024 election as liberal activists pressure Democrats to be more outspoken on supporting the LGBTQ+ movement. Republicans have fought back by emphasizing parental rights and arguing against medical abuse. Like Blaze News?
