BOMBSHELL: The CIA was at the Capitol on January 6 — doing what?

Judicial Watch has filed a federal lawsuit seeking to force the CIA to disclose any involvement in the January 6 Capitol riot — and President Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch isn’t giving up. After coming across documents that showed that the CIA had teams present at the Capitol and responding to the alleged pipe bombs found near the RNC and DNC, as well as other agents on standby, Fitton believes there’s a lot more to the story than the public is being told. “This was astonishing news to us,” Fitton tells BlazeTV hosts Jill Savage of “Blaze News Tonight” and James Poulos of “Zero Hour." “We didn’t know the CIA had operators deployed on January 6 at the U.S. Capitol, and I’m sure it’s a surprise to Americans that the CIA was conducting law enforcement activities here in America,” he continues. When Judicial Watch followed up with the comprehensive FOIA request for records explaining what the CIA was doing at the Capitol on January 6, Fitton tells Savage and Poulos they “got the proverbial hand to the face.” “We’ve sued in federal court for the records,” he says. “Law enforcement personnel working for the CIA on the ground on January 6, certainly that ought to be disclosable or disclosed to the American people.” Savage then notes the “six different areas involved” in the lawsuit. “Shots fired inside the Capitol, a person shot inside the Capitol, requests for CIA support or assistance to the Capitol, bomb technicians, and accelerating or explosive canine devices in any after-action reports about January 6 events in Washington, D.C.” “So why are all those different areas mentioned here?” Savage asks Fitton. “Those are the areas that we think the CIA was likely to be involved in, and given the prior documents we have, certainly with the explosive devices that were found, that was really specific to the CIA,” he explains.Want more from Blaze News Tonight? To enjoy more provocative opinions, expert analysis, and breaking stories you won’t see anywhere else, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

State AGs question Temu over suspected forced labor, CCP ties: 'Deeply troubling'

A group of 21 Republican state attorneys general sent a letter to Temu, a Chinese online retailer, and its parent company, PDD Holdings, Inc., requesting information about its business practices and ties to the Chinese Communist Party.Led by Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, the group questioned whether the company was "illegally selling products made by forced labor in an area of China in which the CCP is committing genocide." Additionally, they noted that PDD Holdings has been "credibly accused" of being linked to the CCP.'Temu's business practices and apparent ties to the Chinese Communist Party are deeply concerning.'The letter was prompted by "disturbing" discoveries made last year by the U.S. House Select Committee on the CCP.It stated, "Temu admitted to the Select Committee that 'it does not have a policy in place to prohibit the sale of goods from Xinjiang—the location of the CCP's ongoing genocide against the Uyghurs—on [your] platform.'""Instead, Temu claimed it is not subject to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act," the letter continued. "Not only that, but the Select Committee found that 'Temu conducts no audits and reports no compliance system to affirmatively examine and ensure compliance with the UFLPA'—relying instead on your China-based suppliers to voluntarily report violations of 'boilerplate terms and conditions that prohibit the use of forced labor.'"According to the state AGs, the e-commerce giant's "poor compliance system virtually ensures" that some of its products are made with forced labor."This conduct is deeply troubling in its own right," the group wrote. They noted that if Temu's alleged "harmful" practices were not rectified, they would "consider all available measures to protect our citizens."The state AGs requested additional information from Temu, including asking whether it collects U.S. consumer data and whether that data is being sold or has been requested by the CCP. They also asked the company to clarify how it ensures products sold on its website are not created with slave labor. Temu was asked to respond within 30 days.State AGs Steven Marshall of Alabama, Treg Taylor of Alaska, Ashley Moody of Florida, and Christopher Carr of Georgia also signed the letter. Knudsen told Fox News Digital, "Temu's business practices and apparent ties to the Chinese Communist Party are deeply concerning.""As attorney general, it's my job to protect Montanans from bad actors who may be coming after their sensitive consumer data and hold anyone who has violated our consumer protection laws accountable. I look forward to hearing from the company to ensure their business practices are in line with Montana law and data is not being shared with the CCP," he added. Temu did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Obama economist hopes Harris doesn't actually implement her policies: 'There’s no upside here, and there is some downside'

An Obama-era economist reviewed new policy proposals by Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and said that he hopes they never come to fruition. Harvard economist Jason Furman told the New York Times that her policies just don't make sense.'There’s no upside here, and there is some downside.' The Harris campaign released details of its economic plan on Wednesday that included price controls. At the top of the list was a federal ban on "price gouging" in groceries and food. The Times report noted that price controls are popular with voters in swing states and among progressives but opposed by most economists. Among those are Furman, who said price controls had zero positive value. “This is not sensible policy, and I think the biggest hope is that it ends up being a lot of rhetoric and no reality,” he told the Times. “There’s no upside here, and there is some downside.” Furman also explained why grocery prices increasing isn't necessarily evidence of price gouging and price controls would prevent the market from increasing production to combat high prices. “Egg prices went up last year — it’s because there weren’t as many eggs, and it caused more egg production,” he said. Egg prices have dropped since the surge last year. Harris argued in the press release that consolidation among meat production companies had led to less competition and artificially increased prices. But, when the Times reached out to the campaign to explain how their policies would ease the situation, they did not immediately respond to the request. The campaign is facing increasing pressure and scrutiny over its refusal to take questions from the media. Others criticized the economic policies by comparing them to those of former President Jimmy Carter in the 1970s. High inflation and unemployment eventually led to Carter's defeat by Ronald Reagan and ushered in a decade of conservative control of the government. "As Vice President, Kamala Harris delivered the worst inflation in a generation. Now she promises to fix the mess she created with price controls? She truly is a far-left San Francisco socialist," responded Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas. This isn't the first time Furman has tossed cold water on Democratic economic policies. In December 2021, he noted publicly that although wages had increased since President Joe Biden had taken office, inflation had eaten up all of those gains and compensation was therefore lower than it had been in 2019.
