Cancer Patient Gets Odd-But-Unique “Souvenir” On Her Last Day Of Chemo

Cancer SUCKS. We repeat that mantra many times. It is an insidious disease that ravages strong people, kills too many, and causes families to suffer. The treatments are traumatic but do offer patients some hope. After completing her radiation therapy for cancer, Emily Carpenter received a unique souvenir. @_em_carp_ I mean ill take it lmao #cancersucks #cancer #cancersurvivor #baldisbeautiful #jesuslovesyou #godisgood #radiation #radiationtherapy #radiationoncology #childhoodcancer ♬ original sound – Nooooooo Chemotherapy assaults cancer cells with massive doses of medications that “poison” cancer cells. Radiation therapy uses a targeted energy beam to target and kill cancer cells. Emily has a long history of cancer that began when she was just nine years old. She shared her incredible fight for life in a slideshow on TikTok, including the cancer souvenir she has from her most recent battle. To understand the significance of the souvenir, we need to learn about radiation cancer treatment. The therapy uses beams of intense energy targeted directly at the cancer. To keep a patient still so that the radiation goes precisely where they aim it, they “lock” the patient onto the table. A custom-fitted shell cradles the body part and locks it in place. The shell is bolted to the table, restricting a patient’s movement. Image from TikTok. The treatment is scary enough, but once they lock a patient to the table and restrict movement, it becomes worse. The shells are an integral part of this targeted therapy. Radiation can also damage healthy cells. The shells focus the energy beams to affect the least number of healthy cells possible. People use these cancer souvenirs in different ways. My brother took his out and used it for firearms target practice. Another friend turned theirs into a creepy Halloween decoration. We’re unsure what Emily plans for her helmet, but she’ll happily tell her followers on TikTok. Please share. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here and here. “My Son Singing ‘Sweet Caroline’ To Himself In Bed On Friday Night”

Music can be a powerful tool. We both create and listen to music in order to better express how we feel. Other times, music is the perfect way to forget about our worries, even if for a brief moment. Everyone has at least one song that accomplishes the latter, and for one little boy, that song is quite a popular classic: Sweet Caroline. Okay, but in all seriousness, what sort of magic did Neil Diamond infuse into Sweet Caroline? No matter who you are or what you are going through, this song is almost guaranteed to improve your mood, even if by a little. It is no wonder, then, that even little ones who still sleep in cribs can’t get the tune out of their heads. But don’t just take my word for it! Listen to one of the youngest, and cutest, Diamond fans around in the video below. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ashley Iaconetti Haibon (@ashley_iaconetti) “Tell me you’re from New England without telling me you’re from New England,” Ashley writes in the caption of her video. There is absolutely no doubt that Ashley Laconetti’s son is a huge fan of Sweet Caroline. The real question now is this: Does he soothe himself to sleep with the tune or can he not fall asleep because the song is stuck in his head? Either way, at least he’s enjoying himself! This Adorable Little Boy Can’t Stop Singing Sweet Caroline… and Now We Can’t Either! “This is epic!!!! This kid needs to be on Broadway….He’s a whole vibe,” someone shares in the comment section of the video, with another adding, “He’s a natural! Totally in tune!” “How adorable!” a third person chimes in. “He can sing like a little angel even with a pacifier sorta hanging in his mouth.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here! Incredible: Rats Learn To Drive Tiny Cars In Astounding Clip

Move over automatic-driving cars, they’re teaching the rats to drive. They’ll be taking over the world soon. When you think you’ve seen it all, someone surprises you! At the University of Richmond in Virginia, a research team led by Kelly Lambert is teaching rats to drive. A professor of behavioral neuroscience, Lambert heads a team of students and psychology researchers. The research seeks to create and reinforce future mental health treatment methods. @cbsmornings Rats at the University of Richmond are driving the “Tesla Cybertruck of rodent vehicles,” according to neuroscientist Kelly Lambert. Video shows the rodents driving the tiny cars. #rats #science #neuroscience ♬ original sound – CBS Mornings This isn’t the first time we have discussed rats driving little cars. A family saw information about the UR research study and decided to do a study of their own. Kuzko and Kronk have little vehicles built by the father, and the entire family works with the rats to improve their driving skills. You can follow the critters and their driving escapades on their Instagram page. The research’s basis is that rats will live longer and be happier in an enriched environment. This includes interaction with human researchers and activities to enhance their lives. Rats are the primary animals in this driving research because their neural pathways are very similar to those of humans. We’re not sure who decided to build the rats cars and teach them to drive, but it is fascinating to watch. The research was first published in 2019, and the animals are featured in a Netflix docu-series, “The Hidden Lives of Pets.” The series examines how animals and humans interact and how they form relationships. It explores the rats who learned to drive, Bunny the talking dog, who communicates using talking buttons, and many other species. The series looks at the capabilities of animals, from service dogs sensing seizures to fish learning to play soccer. Please share this amazing research project.
