Gary Sinise recently expressed his gratitude for the people who stood by him and his family during their trying times. The year has been an eventful one for him, considering that he had lost a loved one at the beginning of the year. During Thanksgiving, Gary said he was glad to have people who showed how much they cared and offered warmth to his family. Gary Sinise’s son, McCanna Anthony Sinese, also called Mac, lost his life in the first month of the year, January 5, after battling cancer for about six years. Also, Gary Sinise’s wife, Moira Harris, had been diagnosed with breast cancer prior to his son’s diagnosis, leaving him to care for both of them simultaneously. Gary decided to take a break from acting in 2019 to support his family undergoing treatment. In 2021, Gary Sinise moved the family from Los Angeles to Nashville so that he could better focus on their health and after undergoing treatment, Moira became cancer-free, however, despite their determination for Mac to be healed of the illness, he died in January at 33. Looking back now, the actor is thankful for the help he received from friends, colleagues, relatives, and people who have suffered from the same illness. He recalled that it was painful to lose “any family member, but a parent losing a child is a tough one,” however, he was overwhelmed to have received an “outpouring of love and condolence” during that period. This Christmas classic from nearly eight decades ago is still a must-watch for some who are wondering where they can see it this year. Although Miracle On 34th Street will not be showing on network TV, families can catch it at specific times on cable or simply rerun it on Disney +. The one-and-a-half-hour movie featured Natalie Woods as Susan Walker, the young girl who does not believe in Christmas. Maureen O’Hara played Susan’s mother Doris Walker, who is equally convinced that Santa is a fable until an encounter with a certain Kris Kringle.
