Ancient Secrets of King Arthur’s Hall Uncovered by Archaeologists

Nestled within the rugged Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, King Arthur’s Hall has intrigued historians and locals for centuries. A recent study by the Cornwall Archaeological Unit (CAU) revealed its origins date back to the Neolithic Period, approximately 5,000 to 5,500 years ago. This discovery places its construction in the same era as Stonehenge, disproving the previous belief that it was a medieval structure built around 1000 A.D. King Arthur’s Hall: A Unique Neolithic Structure King Arthur’s Hall is a rectangular enclosure 155 feet long and 65 feet wide, surrounded by an earth-and-stone embankment. Lining the inner bank are 56 standing stones, or orthostats, some of which are still upright and reach heights of six feet. Many of these stones, however, now lie flat or lean precariously, with potentially more buried beneath the surface. The layout is unique, with its rectangular form differing from the circular arrangements typically associated with Neolithic sites. Its north-south orientation and distinctive features have long puzzled researchers. Although the structure was once thought to be a medieval livestock enclosure, its precise design and the use of standing stones hinted at a much older origin. The new findings confirm these suspicions, rewriting its place in history. Beth Snider | MSN | King Arthur’s Hall is a rectangular enclosure 155 feet long and 65 feet wide, surrounded by an earth-and-stone embankment. Dating the Monument The CAU analyzed soil samples from the embankment using advanced Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dating techniques. OSL measures the last time soil was exposed to light, providing an accurate construction date. The results revealed that the embankment was built during the late 4th millennium B.C., firmly establishing its Neolithic origins. Additional tests, including radiocarbon dating of organic materials, showed evidence of activity at the site during later prehistoric and medieval periods. Infilling of the enclosure began roughly 2,000 to 2,500 years ago, and the site was repurposed in medieval times, potentially as a livestock pound or reservoir for tin mining. These findings highlight the structure’s long history of use and adaptation. The Role of King Arthur’s Hall in Neolithic Life The true purpose of King Arthur’s Hall remains a mystery. Its construction, featuring an embanked rectangular layout with stone lining, has no known parallels in Neolithic architecture. Standing stones and a possibly marshy interior suggest it could have been a sacred site. Archaeologists speculate it may have been used for rituals, gatherings, or ceremonies, although its exact role in Neolithic society is unclear. During the medieval period, the site took on more practical functions. Cornwall’s reliance on agriculture and mining aligns with the theory that the enclosure served as a livestock pond or reservoir. These later uses add layers to its historical narrative, reflecting the evolving needs of the surrounding community. Hiyah Zaidi | MSN | King Arthur’s Hall construction, featuring an embanked rectangular layout with stone lining, has no known parallels in Neolithic architecture. Challenges in Preservation Despite its historical significance, King Arthur’s Hall faces numerous preservation challenges. Erosion from human visitors, grazing cattle, and overgrown vegetation have put the site at risk. Historic England has listed it on its Heritage at Risk Register, underscoring the need for immediate conservation efforts. Plans are underway to develop a management strategy that will safeguard the site for future generations. This includes repairing damaged fencing to prevent further erosion and limiting access to particularly vulnerable areas. The confirmation of its Neolithic origins has reignited interest in preserving this extraordinary monument, ensuring it remains a valuable cultural landmark. Through these efforts, King Arthur’s Hall can transition from a mystery site to a celebrated piece of Britain’s ancient history, offering insights into life thousands of years ago. One of the Ugliest Buildings in America To Be Named After Nancy Pelosi

Former Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi will soon be honored with a building dedicated in her name. The energy-efficient “green” San Francisco Federal Building stands over 230 feet and 18 stories high in the heart of the Golden City…and it has to be one of the ugliest buildings ever constructed in our great nation. In fact, President Trump called it just that, singling this monstrosity out as “one of the ugliest structures” in San Francisco back in 2020 when he issued an executive order to make buildings beautiful again! And soon, it will be dedicated to Pelosi herself and re-named the Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building. What an honor. Just take a look at this thing: An 18-story California green building– once referred to as “one of the ugliest structures” in San Francisco by President Donald Trump – will be named after Nanci Pelosi next week. The building will be called  “Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building”. Pelosi’s name was slapped on… pic.twitter.com/W7NGvUwxSR — Breanna Morello (@BreannaMorello) November 30, 2024 Here’s a bigger photo: I mean, this has to be a joke, right? The New York Post has more: An 18-story government building in California – once referred to as “one of the ugliest structures” in San Francisco by President-elect Trump – will be formally dedicated to former House Speaker Nanci Pelosi next week. The San Francisco Federal Building, a 234-foot-tall building located in the city’s South of Market neighborhood, had its name changed to “Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building” last year and the high ranking Democrat will be on hand to unveil new signage at a ceremony on Monday, according to Bay City News. The building was named after Pelosi in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, a $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill. The energy efficient “green” building opened in 2007 at a cost of $144 million and consists of stainless steel panels V-shaped panels at the top that fold over its broad concrete frame. It is designed to consume one-third the energy of a typical California office building, use natural light to illuminate 80% of the building and create a healthy environment for workers. It was the first U.S. federal building to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified. It is a globally recognized rating system that measures the sustainability of a building. The building houses offices for Pelosi along with the Social Security Administration, Department of Transportation, Department of Labor, Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Agriculture, according to the General Services Administration (GSA) which operates the building. “The building’s shape and orientation maximize natural airflow for cooling and ventilation and take advantage of natural daylight for the majority of office interiors,” per the GSA website. Although praised for its energy efficiency, its gray and dull exterior has divided opinions, particularly as it sits across from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, a Beaux-Arts masterpiece on Seventh Street. In 2020, then-President Trump issued an executive order, dubbed “make federal buildings beautiful again,” promoting beautiful federal civic architecture, which mentioned the building as being an unsatisfactory design. The building is not just ugly — it’s also dangerous and surrounded by homeless drug addicts. It’s so dangerous and overrun that employees are told to stay home to work! Fox News added: Although praised for its energy efficiency, its gray and dull exterior has divided opinions, particularly as it sits across from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, a Beaux-Arts masterpiece on Seventh Street. In 2020, then-President Trump issued an executive order, dubbed “make federal buildings beautiful again,” promoting beautiful federal civic architecture, which mentioned the building as being an unsatisfactory design. “GSA selected an architect to design the San Francisco Federal Building who describes his designs as ‘art-for-art’s-sake’ architecture, intended primarily for architects to appreciate. While elite architects praised the resulting building, many San Franciscans consider it one of the ugliest structures in their city,” the executive order reads. The executive order was revoked by President Biden in February 2021. Last year, workers raised safety concerns about entering and leaving the building due to the proliferation of drug dealers and homeless people congregating outside the building, the San Francisco Standard reported last year. The publication cited an Aug. 4, 2023 memo, written by the Department of Health and Human Services leader, that said the security issues had gotten so bad that workers were urged to consider working from home. The block where the building sits recorded 525 drug-related incidents in a 12-month period, the publication writes, citing city data. Here’s a clip of that: Federal employees in the US San Francisco are being advised to work remotely and not to visit government offices in the city center due to the huge number of homeless people and drug addicts. According to the police, the metropolis is simply “awash” with fentanyl, a synthetic… pic.twitter.com/L5ciK2Extd — S p r i n t e r (@SprinterFamily) August 15, 2023 What a fitting building to be dedicated the lovely former Speaker Pelosi!

RFK Jr. Appears NAKED In New Viral Video

It’s RFK Jr. like you’ve never seen him before — butt-naked and in the shower! Earlier today, RFK Jr.’s wife and actress Cheryl Hines caused a stir online when she posted a video promoting her MAHA beauty products on her Instagram. In the video, RFK Jr. can be seen showering behind her (with Cheryl strategically blocking his lower section…) “You can’t take a shower, I’m doing a video!” Hines told her hubby, “No, no, no, I’m doing a… you’ve gotta give me a second I’m doing a video for Hines+Young. Honey… 60% off.” That’s one way to promote self-care…with RFK Jr.’s body — the symbol of MAHA itself! Kennedy, Jr., appeared partially naked in the background of a video the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star shared to promote her eco-friendly, self-care company, Hines+Young. The 59-year-old actress posted a short clip on her Instagram story to advertise a Black Friday sale on products from Hines+Young, which she co-founded with her 20-year-old daughter, Catherine Young. Hines held up a bottle of linen spray and a tin of body cream with her head blocking most of the front of the 70-year-old politician as he showered behind her. “No, you can’t take a shower!” she told Kennedy while laughing in the clip, which was shared by journalist Yashar Ali on X, formerly Twitter, Friday. “I’m doing a video! No, no, no, I’m doing, I’m…,” Hines continued, wagging her finger at the camera. “You’ve gotta give me a second. I’m doing a video for Hines+Young. OK, this is … honey … 60% off,” she said as she laughed at the end of the clip. On the video, Hines wrote “H+Y Content Interruption” and “Oh Bobby,” along with red heart and smiley face emoji. Hines also included a link to the Hines+Young website, promoting the “60% off everything!” sale. The actress also shared an image of Hines+Young products, including a candle that had a lid emblazoned with “MAHA,” referring to Kennedy’s “Make America Healthy Again” movement. Hines tagged her company’s Instagram page and added the “MAHA” hashtag on the photo. The New York Post also said: Maybe he’s washing his cares away. Actress Cheryl Hines posted images online of her husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in the shower behind her as she tried to film a video for her beauty line — with her head strategically blocking most of his buff bod. The oft-criticized nominee for President-elect Trump’s Health and Human Services department appeared oblivious as the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star tried to plug her Hines & Young line, which she founded with daughter Catherin. The video is making waves on social media.
