Joy Reid goes on paranoid rant suggesting Trump was not actually shot and Secret Service helped him stage 'iconic photo'

MSNBC host Joy Reid posted a video of herself working through a bizarre conspiracy theory suggesting that the Secret Service helped former President Donald Trump to create the historic and defiant photo image from the shooting. Reid posted the video on a social media account. She noted that the Biden campaign released a lot of detailed medical information about his condition within minutes of the announcement that he had contracted COVID-19 again. "But when it comes to what happened on Saturday, with former President Donald Trump, this assassination attempt, we know almost nothing about his medical condition," said Reid. "How come no one else has any information about this wound? We still don't know for sure whether Donald Trump was hit by a bullet, whether he was hit by glass fragments, whether he was hit by shrapnel, we don't have those details," she continued. "We know almost nothing! Why? Why don't we know that much?" she asked. She went on to claim that it was unknown where the other three victims of the shooting were standing relative to Trump. "We don't know why for nine full seconds, Donald Trump was allowed to stand back up during an active shooting, an active shooter situation, even though they at that point had said the shooter was down.""They allowed him to stand up in the middle of that, you know, crisis and pose for a photo and fist pump the air so he could get the iconic photo, and then they allowed him to stand up again outside of the SUV instead of just shoving him into the SUV. That seems really unusual."She went on to detail the "hot mess" related to the security failures of the Secret Service and compared the situation of past shootings involving presidents in an attempt to paint this attempt as strange and somehow abnormal. "It's weird, and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of curiosity about it!" she laughed. "You know, in the media world, my profession. It's weird, right?" Many critics of the former president have noted that there have been few official medical details about his injury released, but only extremists on the fringe have claimed that he was not actually shot. Others latch onto an early report that said Trump's ear was cut by shrapnel from the teleprompter being hit by a bullet, but that report was debunked quickly. Reid was torched by rapper and model Amber Rose after the MSNBC host tried to undermine Rose's speech at the Republican National Convention by attacking her racial identity. Like Blaze News? Xbox Live is down

Image: The Verge If you’re trying to play online games on your Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, or even Xbox 360 right now, you might be running into some issues, as Xbox confirmed there was a “major” Xbox Live outage on its status page as of 6:57PM ET. “You may not be able to sign-in to your Xbox profile, may be disconnected while signed in, or have other related problems,” according to a status message. “Features that require sign-in like most games, apps and social activity won’t be available.” For players who could sign into their accounts on consoles, online-connected games couldn’t connect and showed their own Xbox sign-in errors, while other people reported issues with features like remote play. “We are aware that users may be unable to sign in at the... FTC blasts Microsoft’s new ‘degraded’ Xbox Game Pass Standard tier and price increases

Illustration by Alex Castro / The Verge The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has blasted Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass price increases in a filing to the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Microsoft revealed last week that it’s increasing PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate prices, and planning to launch a new Game Pass Standard tier soon without day one access to first-party Xbox games. The FTC calls this new Game Pass Standard tier a “degraded product,” because new Game Pass users won’t be able to sign up to the $10.99 Game Pass for Console, which includes day one game access. Instead, Xbox Game Pass Standard will be priced at $14.99 and won’t include day one games, but will include online multiplayer. “Microsoft’s price increases and product degradation — combined... Google shows off the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold a month early

We're still about a month away from the next Made by Google hardware event, but Google has jumped the gun today and shown off two new devices early. On Thursday, Google released two videos on YouTube revealing the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold -- neither of which had been formally announced by the company before today. First up is the Pixel 9 Pro, which is Google's non-folding flagship phone of 2024. Both it and its folding cousin have leaked extensively in recent weeks, so there wasn't much left to spoil. With that said, it's our best look at the new camera module so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMVpP-Zam1A Hours later, Google published a second video showing us the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which features a stacked rear camera array instead of a long camera strip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC_A3EHFKF4 Between this video and all of the latest leaks, it's clear that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is going to be a significant upgrade over the original Pixel Fold. Notably, the 2024 model can open 180 degrees and lie flat on a surface, which the Pixel Fold couldn't quite accomplish. The bezel of the inside screen appears to have been reduced as well, but it's hard to tell. Believe it or not, this is only half of Google's smartphone lineup for this year. Leaked regulatory filings revealed that Google plans to release the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold later this summer. We also expect to see the Pixel Watch 3 soon. You can tune in live for the full reveals at Made by Google on August 13 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET. A new page for the Pixel 9 lineup is also live on Google's website as of today. Rhodri Mawr, One of the Greatest Kings in Wales

Rhodri Mawr, One of the Greatest Kings in Wales

Rhodri Mawr, known as Rhodri the Great, is one of the most celebrated figures in Welsh history. His reign marked a significant period in the consolidation of Welsh territories and the defense of Wales against external threats. Rhodri's life and legacy offer a crucial glimpse of medieval Welsh politics, warfare, and leadership, highlighting his role as a unifier and protector of his people. Rhodri Mawr, the Great King of Wales Rhodri Mawr was born around 820 AD, a time when Wales was fragmented into several small kingdoms, each ruled by local chieftains and kings. His father, Merfyn Frych, was the king of Gwynedd, one of the most powerful kingdoms in North Wales. Through his mother, Nest ferch Cadell, Rhodri was also connected to the royal line of Powys, another significant Welsh kingdom. This dual lineage positioned Rhodri as a crucial figure in the eventual unification of these territories. Upon the death of his father in 844 AD, Rhodri inherited the kingdom of Gwynedd. He soon demonstrated his prowess as a leader and warrior by successfully defending his realm against Viking invasions, which were a persistent threat during his reign. The Vikings had begun their raids on the British Isles in the late 8th century, and their incursions into Wales increased in the 9th century. One of Rhodri's earliest notable accomplishments was his victory over Gorm, a Danish chieftain, whom he defeated and killed in a battle on Anglesey in 856. In 873, Rhodri achieved further successes against the Vikings, winning battles at Banolau and Ynegydd on Anglesey. Read moreSection: NewsHistory & ArchaeologyFamous PeopleRead Later
