A Portland, Ohio woman recalls her encounter with a mysterious winged cryptid that she eventually released may have been a Mothman after watching 'The Mothman Prophecies' film. I received the following account:"Hi. I guess I'll just jump into this story that I've only revealed to a few people. My extended family mostly lives along Old River Road (Rt 124) in Portland, Ohio. I practically grew up there and spent entire summers there as a youth. It was and remains a special place for me as I loved exploring the areas.My aunt and uncle live on a hill overlooking the Ohio River and we have fished that area forever. I take groups of buddies every summer and we camp on their lower land and spend the night fishing. Some of us just go for the drinking and fun. There are all sorts of little gravel roads around that area and I know them all.One evening, two friends and I decided to go walking. One of my friends hadn't had anything to drink but he chose to come along. We were just being loud and laughing since we were literally in the middle of nowhere. Suddenly I caught a light out the corner of my eye and off in the distance was what looked like a house with every light on. I was totally confused and my friends had no idea what I was talking about because it's just a house. There is no house there. As we were walking closer to the "house" something appeared 20 feet in front of us. We only looked at it for a moment before we all turned and ran full blast back to the campsite. In the light of day, I drove down the gravel road we were on and there was no house anywhere in sight as I already knew.Some months later, a different friend brought a Mothman movie (The Mothman Prophecies) to my house to watch. Surprisingly, I had never heard of the Mothman. I was almost panic-stricken knowing this was the thing I saw. I immediately called my friend who was with me and told him to go rent that movie. He eventually called me back almost in hysterics after watching that movie. This happened almost 18 years ago and I still think about it at least once a day. I received the following email that references 2 separate flying cryptid encounters in two different locations, within two months during the Summer of 2011 and by the same witness!"Hi, Lon. I know that I'm late to the game, but since you have been involved with the Chicago Mothman sightings, I thought I'd report my sightings to you.During the Summer (June 19, 2011) I had two encounters with giant black birds; when I say giant I mean I saw (at two separate times) birds that were all black in color with wing spans as big as a small plane 14 feet or bigger.My first encounter was early one summer morning when I was returning from the Quad Cities. I was traveling on my motorcycle on Route 30 just past I-88 when I noticed a big black object in the distance sitting in the middle of the road. I slowed my motorcycle down as I got closer to the object. At first, I thought it was a black bear sitting in the road but as I drove closer to the object I soon learned it wasn’t a bear at all. The black object was a giant BLACK BIRD which stood at least 4 to 5 feet tall. I was in awe and a little bit scared at the sight of the GIANT BIRD. I stopped my motorcycle immediately hoping that the beast would not attack me. I then looked behind me in hopes of seeing anyone else who might be witnessing this amazing sight, but of course, just like in the movies, there was no one else on the road. Realizing it was just me and the GIANT BIRD, my heart began to race with thoughts of being attacked; I slowly pulled in the clutch and put the motorcycle in gear just in case I had to make a quick getaway. The GIANT BIRD heard the noise of the gear shifting. It then looked directly at me for a brief moment, swung open its massive wings (which were at least 14 feet long), stood upright, then leaped off the ground and took off in flight. The bird looked like a small black plane and when it flew by the trees the branches were swaying back and forth. I sat on my motorcycle watching the bird fly out of sight.I still do not know what kind of creature it was that I encountered. I have been looking online at several different kinds of birds but have yet to find the bird that I saw. The only bird that comes even close to what I saw was a condor but the bird I saw did not have a head like a condor nor did it look like that of a turkey buzzard or vulture plus this creature was much larger than a condor. I almost wonder if this was just a freak of nature; or possibly a prehistoric bird. Could it be possible that there are still some types of prehistoric birds in existence? Trust me I am not crazy. I have recently seen pictures of the legendary Thunderbirds and that is exactly what this bird looked like.My second encounter with a giant black bird was in August of 2011. My friends and I were traveling on our motorcycles near Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on some back road when all of a sudden a giant black bird appeared out of nowhere. The bird was obliviously mad at the noise of all of our motorcycles or something because it took a dive at the couple who were traveling in front of my wife and me. The giant bird actually dove at them causing them to swerve on their motorcycle. The bird then circled around them and tried to poop on them; yes I said poop on them! I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. Luckily the poop missed them. I am not exaggerating when I say the stuff that came out of the creature was much larger than that of humans. It was disgusting! On a positive note, there were ten of us who witnessed this giant bird. Once again none of us knew exactly what kind of bird it was that we encountered. Just like I had described before the giant bird was all black with a massive wing span and its head was not like that of a condor.I couldn’t believe that I was so fortunate to witness this massive bird again and I was so happy that my friends were with me to see it as well. I had told my friends about the bird that I had seen in June but I don’t think that any of them really believed me. Now they know that I am not crazy and are obviously convinced that the Giant Black Bird does exist.What is really kind of scary is that I do not believe that I saw the same bird twice; I truly believe that I saw two different birds that are of the same species. How I came to this conclusion is simple the first bird was bigger than the second bird.I only hope that anyone who reads this takes this as a real encounter and just not as another fish story. I have ten witnesses to confirm one of my sightings. ABC’s Good Morning America devoted a lengthy segment during Wednesday morning’s episode to a doomsday report about Project 2025. Chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl presented a long-winded analysis of the Heritage Foundation’s initiative, drawing particular attention to the alleged threats to freedom it posed. Karl introduced Project 2025 as “created by some of Donald Trump's most important advisers as a blueprint for what he could do if he gets back into the White House again” before transitioning to a clip of President Joe Biden’s denouncement of the plan. “Project 2025 is the biggest attack on our system of government and our personal freedom that–that's ever been proposed in the history of this country,” the president howled.     Karl further insisted that “the 920-page plan would dramatically remake the American government and American lives,” citing Steve Bannon’s explanation of the Project’s plan to dismantle the administrative state and emphasizing the points he viewed as most especially menacing to what Biden referred to as “our personal freedom”: Dismantling the Departments of Homeland Security and Education, FEMA, and NOAA, the agency that tracks hurricanes. Giving the president greater control over the Justice Department and, with it, federal prosecutions. Banning access to the abortion pill and further restricting abortion rights. And creating a massive militarized force to deport millions of undocumented immigrants.  Karl also villainized former White House Personnel Director John McEntee for his “effort to purge people from the Trump administration considered not loyal enough to Donald Trump.” McEntee continued his endeavor with the Heritage Foundation, working to secure loyal staff members for a possible second Trump presidency and, to Karl’s great consternation, “a plan to make it easier to fire millions of civil servants across the federal government.” Karl ended his report by bemoaning the fact that conservatives were working to facilitate a second Trump administration and increase its effectiveness, quoting the former president’s declaration, in his Bloomberg Businessweek interview, that “We had great people, but I had some people that I would not have chosen for a second time. Now, I know everybody. Now, I am truly experienced.” Of course, ABC knew that a unified and more prepared Trump administration, resulting from Project 2025’s efforts, would spell disaster for liberal agendas that had survived unchallenged for so many years, hence their panicked smear of the initiative. The former president’s allies in a right-wing think tank are pushing Project 2025, a sweeping and, critics say, radical plan to transform the government. Chief Washington correspondent Jon Karl is back with the details. Good morning, Jon. JONATHAN KARL: Good morning, George. Project 2025 was created by some of Donald Trump's most important advisers as a blueprint for what he could do if he gets back into the White House again.  It's a conservative, pro-Trump effort, but lately it's been Democrats who have been talking about Project 2025. The Biden campaign already declaring Trump/Vance the Project 2025 ticket. [Cuts to video] PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Folks, Project 2025 is the biggest attack on our system of government and our personal freedom that–that's ever been proposed in the history of this country. KARL: Amid those attacks, Trump is now saying he knows nothing about Project 2025, recently claiming, “I have not seen it, have no idea who is in charge of it.” So what is Project 2025? Started by the conservative Heritage Foundation, it is billed as a ready-to-go plan for the next conservative president. FEMALE VOICE: We are laying the foundation MALE VOICE: For the next president. KEVIN ROBERTS: To end Washington’s bureaucracy and restore American prosperity. KARL: The 920-page plan would dramatically remake the American government and American lives. Just listen to how Steve Bannon, Trump's former chief strategist, recently described it to me. [Cuts to video] STEVE BANNON: I think a whole big part of Project 2025 is actually going into the apparatus–the post-constitutional leviathan–and start–if you take it, hitting it from legal and you've got Congress on the legislative side, the executive branch, start to take apart the administrative state brick by brick. (transition) I have 900 pages, right here, of just–this is just Project 2025. [Cuts back to live] KARL: Among the specifics of the plan, dismantling the Departments of Homeland Security and Education, FEMA, and NOAA, the agency that tracks hurricanes. Giving the president greater control over the Justice Department and, with it, federal prosecutions. Banning access to the abortion pill and further restricting abortion rights. And creating a massive militarized force to deport millions of undocumented immigrants.  Several key Trump allies have worked on the plan including Johnny McEntee, considered perhaps Trump's most loyal aide in the White House. In 2020, he ran an effort to purge people from the Trump administration considered not loyal enough to Donald Trump.  For the past two years, McEntee and Project 2025 have been compiling a massive list of names of people loyal to Trump to work in a second Trump administration. And with it a plan to make it easier to fire millions of civil servants across the federal government.  [Cuts back to live] The idea behind Project 2025 is that if Trump gets back to the White House, he will be more effective in implementing those policies, than he was the first time, if he has a plan and if he has people that are truly loyal to him and his agenda. And in an interview, George, just last night published by Bloomberg Businessweek, Trump said this– “We had great people, but I had some people that I would not have chosen for a second time. While former President Donald Trump has called for unity following the attempt on his life, leftists don’t seem to be listening. One of those leftists, a streamer who goes by the name Destiny, made that clear on a recent appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.” Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” was also on that panel — and he was visibly disturbed by Destiny’s comments about the former president and his supporters. “How many times, as a liberal, have you been on a show and you’ve been forced to disavow all of the BLM riots, disavow all of the violence, and blah blah blah, and then you talk to conservatives about January 6th — ‘That was a false flag,’” Destiny mocked to the panel. “Conservatives deserve absolutely zero sympathy for anything that happens as a result of their rhetoric,” he added. “I’m not exactly sure what he’s talking about, but I would say this is the type of person that the internet has broke their brain, thus leaving them with very little empathy for their co-human,” Rubin replied. “I mean a good, decent father is now dead because of this. He’s had his brains blown out because he was defending his wife and daughter. I would hope that you have a little empathy for that,” he added. However, it appears Destiny does not have empathy regarding the death of the beloved husband and father, Corey Comperatore, who was shot at the rally. “F*** it, f*** the dude, the firefighter guy, f*** Trump, f*** the people that support him. I just want you to know, ok, just in case you’re confused,” Destiny said in a clip Piers showed from one of his recent streams. “If one of you were in the crowd, and you’re a conservative fan of mine, and you end up, you know, getting blown away or whatever, I’m making fun of you the next day on Twitter. I am 100%,” he added. Canadian police recommended charges against an 85-year-old man they said rammed his car into two of three teens who had played a doorbell prank on him in February. Surveillance video showed the driver allegedly speeding toward the teenagers as they ran away down a street before they were struck off-camera in Abbotsford in British Columbia on Valentine's Day. 'Looking at the footage, it is alarming. It is very disturbing.' Police said the teenagers had been pressing doorbells and running away, which is called "Nikky Nikky Nine Doors" in Canada. Two of the teens were struck while the third narrowly escaped being hit. According to Global News, the teens were hospitalized in serious condition but later released.The elderly man could be charged with assault with a weapon, and authorities also may recommend a charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Abbotsford Police Department spokesperson Const. Art Stele said."Looking at the footage, it is alarming. It is very disturbing," Stele said. "And it is out of the respect of that that we ensure that any investigations we forward are complete, thorough, and factual."Stele addressed concerns that it took far too long to charge the man, explaining that police had to rule out other possible explanations, including vehicle malfunction. "By no means are we intentionally delaying or taking our time," said Stele. "We do want to ensure that the public understands that in order for us to obtain justice and present a fulsome investigation on behalf of the victims and our community, the Abbotsford Police Department does take ample amount and appropriate time to complete these investigations to present to the justice system."Stele said that it took a long time to sift through all of the data stored in the SUV connected with the incident.
