Donald Trump To Speak At ‘World’s Largest Bitcoin Conference’

President Trump will speak at the upcoming Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Tennessee. “DONALD TRUMP TO SPEAK AT THE WORLD’S LARGEST BITCOIN CONFERENCE THIS MONTH,” Bitcoin Magazine announced. ANNOUNCING: PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP TO SPEAK AT #BITCOIN2024 pic.twitter.com/F2mwECVMTW — The Bitcoin Conference (@TheBitcoinConf) July 10, 2024 From CoinMarketCap: Known as one of the world’s largest Bitcoin events, the conference will feature a lineup of influential figures in the cryptocurrency space. Joining Trump at the Bitcoin 2024 conference will be other notable U.S. politicians, such as presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and Republican Senators Bill Hagerty and Marsha Blackburn. Kennedy Jr., who delivered a keynote speech at Bitcoin 2023, has been a vocal advocate for crypto, pledging to protect the right to hold and use bitcoin. In recent months, Trump, the presumptive Republican Party presidential nominee, has shown strong support for the cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors. At a Mar-a-Lago event last month, he declared his intent to advocate for Bitcoin mining if re-elected. In May, Trump began accepting political donations in cryptocurrencies, a move that has garnered him significant backing from key industry players, including Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, and Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood. “I will ensure that the future of crypto and the future of Bitcoin will be made in the USA,” Trump previously said. Bitcoin 2021 made headlines when El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele declared Bitcoin legal tender. Bitcoin 2022 and Bitcoin 2023 continued the tradition, with notable moments including U.S. Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s powerful speech in support of the Bitcoin industry at Bitcoin 2023. This year, the conference’s move from Miami to Nashville reflects its growing prominence. With two U.S. Presidential candidates, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Donald Trump, both slated to speak, Bitcoin 2024 is poised to be a pivotal event, potentially shaping the future of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency policy in the U.S. The inclusion of Donald Trump as a speaker is particularly notable given his recent commitments to the Bitcoin community. Last month, Trump met with major U.S. Bitcoin miners, including representatives from CleanSpark, Riot Platforms, and more, pledging his support for Bitcoin mining both on the global stage and in Washington, D.C. In May, Trump said he would ensure that the future of Bitcoin and crypto will be made in the USA, while also promising to protect the right to self-custody to the nation’s 50 million crypto holders, if elected president.

Google, FB, Linked In, etc. Are a Threat to Democracy in 2024

“Tech companies are once again colluding with Democrats to push disinformation and censor legitimate conservative opinions, this time with the imprimatur of legitimacy conferred by the U.S. Supreme Court that allows them to do so more shamelessly and aggressively than ever,” reports Tyler Durden at Zero Hedge. They are doing it openly thanks to Amy […] The post Google, FB, Linked In, etc. Are a Threat to Democracy in 2024 appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

‘The Shining,’ ‘Popeye’ Actress Shelley Duvall Dead At 75

Actress Shelley Duvall of “The Shining” and “Popeye” fame has died at the age of 75 from complications related to diabetes. The actress passed away in her sleep on Thursday at her home in Blanco, Texas, her longtime boyfriend Dan Gilroy announced online. “My dear, sweet, wonderful life, partner, and friend left us last night,” Gilroy wrote in a statement. “Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away beautiful Shelley.” Duvall was known for appearing in Robert Altman’s films, including “Thieves Like Us,” “Nashville, ” “Popeye,” “Three Women,” and “McCabe & Ms. Miller.” “He offers me … good roles,” the actress told The New York Times in 1977, per NPR. “None of them have been alike. He has a great confidence in me, and a trust and respect for me, and he doesn’t put any restrictions on me or intimidate me, and I love him. I remember the first advice he ever gave me: ‘Don’t take yourself seriously.’” Duvall was also well-known for her leading role opposite Jack Nicholson in “The Shining.” Her terrified face when Nicholson busted down a door with an axe as he said “Heeeeere’s Johnny!” became a defining image of the horror genre. But the actress retired from Hollywood in the 1990s and disappeared from the spotlight. She discussed her departure from the industry in an interview earlier this year.  “How would you feel if people were really nice, and then, suddenly, on a dime, they turn on you? You would never believe it unless it happens to you. That’s why you get hurt, because you can’t really believe it’s true,” Duvall told The New York Times in April. There were rumors that director Stanley Kubrick treated her badly while filming “The Shining.” Shelley Duvall, legendary character actor, and The Shining’s extraordinary Wendy Torrance has died at the age of 75. Shelley’s career was varied and long. Despite being dogged with exaggerations of her treatment on set, Shelley was always vocal about her experience filming The… pic.twitter.com/q8ZYu08Uco — Stanley Kubrick (@StanleyKubrick) July 11, 2024 The late director’s official account posted about Duvall’s death. “Despite being dogged with exaggerations of her treatment on set, Shelley was always vocal about her experience filming The Shining saying she ‘wouldn’t trade it for anything’ because ‘working with lovable Stanley was a fascinating learning experience.’ Our thoughts are with Shelley’s friends and family.”
