It turns out that Stefani, the No Doubt frontwoman, is a practicing Catholic who never missed a Sunday Mass while on tour with the band. Could this be related to the acceptance of online messages touting traditional values from Stefani and Del Rey over the weekend? The two pop artists’ statements aren’t remotely close to the full-fledged conservative “coming out” (and subsequent cancellation) of other celebrities such as actor Gina Carano or even entrepreneur Elon Musk. Nevertheless, a tangible shift in the culture allowed the two singers to make these statements without meeting the same fate as those other celebrities.
