VIDEO: ‘Facts-First’ CNN’s Most Embarrassing Lies of All Time

According to CNN’s Reliable Sources newsletter, moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will be pushing back against Donald Trump’s “dishonest talking points” during Thursday night’s debate, effectively making the contest a 3-on-1. But how can a network like CNN, which has aired enough fake news to fill a library, deign to crown itself the arbiter of truth? From the Thursday newsletter: What’s more, while CNN has said it will not fact-check the candidates’ claims in real-time, Trump’s propensity to spread dangerous lies and corrosive conspiracy theories will put some onus on Tapper and Bash to make sure the Republican does not abuse the platform to peddle some of his favorite dishonest talking points… In cases of fact versus fiction on critical matters, a he-said, he-said dynamic would not serve the audience well. CNN will need to account for that. If this is to believed, then we can expect Bash and Tapper to interrupt Trump a lot. Calling out the Biden DOJ’s political prosecutions, correctly describing the border as open, speaking ill of the economy, mentioning President Biden’s influence peddling — all of these and more will likely result in obnoxious pushback from the moderators. But let’s not call those interruptions fact-checks. CNN may have crowned itself the “facts-first” network, but that title has absolutely no bearing on reality. Indeed, the network has pushed so many false stories and partisan narratives that it’s hard to keep track of them all. So in the interest of cataloguing just how many things CNN has gotten utterly wrong in the past few years alone, we’ve put together the following compilation video. Enjoy.

House Weighs In: Bill Shutters Biden Censorship at State Department

House Republicans have inched closer to halting the Biden regime’s censorship schemes. The House debated on Thursday a spending bill to effectively shut down the Department of State’s censorship initiatives. The bill is part of House appropriations for Fiscal Year 2025—and comes after House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) made free speech a central issue in the House. H.R. 8771 prevents the Department of State from exploiting taxpayer funds to censor Americans. This marks a significant victory for free speech, especially in light of a recent Supreme Court decision that allows the Biden administration to continue to coerce Big Tech platforms into censoring Americans in the lead-up to the pivotal 2024 general elections. MRC President Brent Bozell hailed the bill’s introduction in a statement thanking Johnson and House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK), writing on X: “Let’s continue to defund the censorship regime!” The bill—introduced by Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL), the chairman of the State and Foreign Operations Subcommittee—specifically targets four aspects of Biden’s censorship efforts in the State Department:  It blocks the agency from attacking U.S. media companies based on mis-, dis- and mal-information. It defunds initiatives that advocate for censorship. It prohibits activities that influence consumers or advertisers toward U.S. companies or social media platforms. It orders the State Department-led Global Engagement Center to re-focus on foreign propaganda and disinformation acts by “foreign state and non-state actors abroad,” rather than American individuals. The funding bill comes after free speech advocates scolded the U.S. Supreme Court following its outrageous decision in Murthy v. Missouri, a crucial case that sought to block the Biden administration from unleashing its attack dogs to coerce social media platforms to censor Americans ahead of the 2024 presidential election. In a 6-3 decision, Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote on behalf of the majority that the pro-free speech plaintiffs lacked standing to proceed with the case against the Biden administration. Echoing Bozell’s sentiments, MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider said, “Because the Supreme Court came down with a disastrous opinion, essentially greenlighting Biden's censorship efforts, it is more important now than ever that Congress defund these unlawful practices.” He added, “All credit to chairmen Cole and Diaz-Balart for fighting for our First Amendment rights.” Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on so-called “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored, contact us using MRC Free Speech America’s contact form, and help us hold Big Tech accountable.

Prosecutors' union supports recall of Soros-backed DA Pamela Price — chief assistant resigns

The Alameda County Prosecutors' Association threw its support behind the recall effort against George Soros-backed District Attorney Pamela Price, the San Francisco Chronicle recently reported.According to an email obtained by the news outlet, the union "overwhelmingly" voted to support recalling the soft-on-crime DA. The union's email read, "Our support for the recall reflects the unfair and hostile work conditions that we face everyday [sic], as we try in good faith to implement the policy directives that Pamela Price has created.""Put different, our support for the recall is based on labor issues, not policy," it added.During her time in office, the county has experienced an increase in crime and an exodus of businesses. Price has recently led an investigation into past misconduct in her office, which she believes prompted the union to support the recall effort. The DA alleged that prosecutors in Alameda County between the mid-1980s and 2007 prevented black and Jewish residents from participating as jury members on death penalty cases, according to a CNN report.During a Tuesday press conference, Price addressed the union's support for her removal from office."The prosecutors' union has always supported the recall. The prosecutors' union contributed $125,000 to my opponent's campaign and then fundraised an additional $75,000. The prosecutors' union, at this point, represents a very small percentage of our employees," Price stated.According to the San Francisco Chronicle, 85% of the union's members participated in the recall vote. However, it is unclear how many ballots were cast supporting Price's removal. "Unfortunately, the timing is indicative of the fact that this office has had a legacy and a history of unethical behavior, and it's obviously something that no one wanted us to uncover or certainly to expose to the public," Price continued. "We're aware that [the prosecutors' union] has been consistently opposed to our efforts to try to reform this office and to expose prosecutorial misconduct."She called her office's investigation of the death penalty cases a "final straw" for the union. "I do believe that they are threatened by our review of past prosecutorial misconduct. I believe that too many prosecutors in this office were raised with very different values than the values that this community holds today," Price added.California Justice and Public Safety PAC, which received funding from Soros, gave $700,000 to Price's 2018 campaign. In March, the groups behind the recall effort submitted approximately 123,000 signatures, Blaze News previously reported. To force a special election, they only needed roughly 73,000 verified signatures. During Tuesday's press conference, Price announced that Chief Assistant District Attorney Otis Bruce Jr. had announced his resignation effective July 13. "I can confirm that Otis Bruce Jr. has resigned," Price stated. "He was part of the transition team. We had a great experience with him. The impact on the office is such that it will continue to grow." — (@) Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

'He's a buffoon': Adam Carolla blasts Gavin Newsom and reveals he's finally leaving California

Comedian and podcaster Adam Carolla revealed that he is finally going to leave California and compared staying in the state to excusing a drug-addicted family member. The 60-year-old has faced questions about a potential exodus from the state for several years and told host Sage Steele that it is finally "time to move."The move coincides with his twin teenagers graduating high school, after the comedian citing for years that he didn't want to uproot his kids."I have twins, and they're in their senior year of high school, and I couldn't — I didn't want to pick up and, you know, tear up their roots, you know? So people always go, 'When are you leaving?' And I go, I will be attending their high school graduation in a U-Haul," Carolla joked.'We get what we deserve, and we deserve it.'Carolla, one of the first podcasters in America, said that California has been circling the drain in recent years and compared that to decades ago when leaving Los Angeles was the last thing on his mind."That's a sad testimonial about California and sort of recent downturn in L.A. as well, because growing up out here, nobody left. You'd be a fool to leave, you know. And the notion of moving out of L.A. and going to like one of the Carolinas or Nashville … you watch the beginning of ‘The Beverly Hillbillies,' they lived over here and then they came to where we are, and I was already there," he said on "The Sage Steele Show.""Moving to a place like Wyoming or something would have been unfathomable, unheard of," he added.Along with stating that Texas, Florida, and the Carolinas were among 15 possible places he has considered moving to, Carolla dug deep into what he has seen as problems caused by California Governor Gavin Newsom."He's a buffoon. He's an idiot," Carolla said. "I say to a lot of people, like, when's it end? When do we change course? And the number one answer is, 'We haven't bottomed out yet. We're getting near it. We haven't totally bottomed out.' And then I say, 'Why is it necessary to bottom out?'" Carolla rhetorically asked. "It's like saying, you know, I was looking for some stuff in my son's room and I found some syringes and a baggie of heroin. But he hasn't flatlined yet, okay? I have not walked in and seen foam coming out of his mouth or him convulsing. And you go, 'Yeah, I know, but why don't you get him in some treatment now?' And you go 'because his heart hasn't stopped yet.' And it's like, 'Yeah, I know, but why do we have to bottom out?' We know where we're going. Let's reverse course. California and Los Angeles can't do it."Carolla went on to tell Steele that California got "what we deserve" and pointed to his mother as an example of a liberal mindset raging across the state. He described his late parent as being a "super progressive white lady" who said that while she didn't know who Larry Elder was when he ran for governor, she knew "Gavin Newsom's a Democrat" and that was enough."That's how [Californians] vote. Like Dumbo moms. It's like ride or die with Gavin Newsom. And it's like, can you just admit you made a mistake and try something else? And it's like, no, we cannot."Like Blaze News? Alvin Bragg accused of discriminating against straight white men in office's hiring practices

Alvin Bragg accused of discriminating against straight white men in office's hiring practices

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, led by Soros-backed DA Alvin Bragg, has been accused of unlawfully discriminating against straight white men in its hiring practices. On Tuesday, America First Legal, a group established by several surrogates of former President Donald Trump, filed a complaint with the Attorney Grievance Committee of the First Judicial Department in New York against Bragg and his office. The complaint points out several DEI-related preferences listed on the office's website, preferences that the AFL calls "unlawful discrimination" that amount to legal "misconduct."'No American workplace is permitted to discriminate based on race or sex. That is illegal.'A quick glance at the DA's website seems to support the AFL's accusations. A page discussing the onboarding of up-and-coming attorneys at the office mentions the word "diverse" four times, beginning with the banner at the top: "We are committed to the recruitment, hiring, retention, and promotion of a diverse staff" (emphasis added). The online application for the office likewise reflects this emphasis on diversity. Not only does it force applicants to identify their race and "gender" — offering as options "a gender not listed" and "non-binary" — but it also gives applicants the chance to disclose personal LGBT-related identities without giving heterosexuals equal opportunity.Even with this decidedly woke application, Bragg's office insists that it is "an inclusive equal opportunity employer committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce and providing a work environment that is free from discrimination." As the AFL noted, this assertion is a prima facie contradiction. "Both cannot be true," the AFL said, calling this apparent race-, sex-, and sexual-orientation-based discrimination "unlawful, deeply harmful, immoral.""No American workplace is permitted to discriminate based on race or sex. That is illegal," AFL Vice President Dan Epstein said in a statement. "We should expect that those who carry out law enforcement are held to the highest legal compliance standards. Under Alvin Bragg’s leadership, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office appears to have fallen below those high standards and unlawfully discriminated against employment applicants to his office. Lawyers are guardians of the Constitution and the law; compliance with the highest ethical standards is necessary to serve those who need access to justice with fidelity."Bragg's office did not respond to the Daily Mail's request for comment. The grievance committee declined to comment, citing an ongoing investigation and complaint review process.Last month, Bragg's office secured 34 felony convictions against Trump.Like Blaze News? MTA approves Gov. Hochul's plan to pause NYC congestion toll, pulling $16.5 billion from agency's budget

MTA approves Gov. Hochul's plan to pause NYC congestion toll, pulling $16.5 billion from agency's budget

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority voted on Wednesday to support New York Gov. Kathy Hochul's (D) plan to pause the Manhattan congestion toll indefinitely, the New York Post reported.Earlier this month, Hochul pumped the brakes on the MTA's congestion pricing plan, arguing it would put "undue strain on already stressed New Yorkers."'It would be fundamentally unfair to the outer boroughs.'If implemented, to drive on 60th Street and below, most passenger vehicles would be charged $15, motorcyclists $7.50, small trucks and charter buses $24, and large trucks and tour buses $36. The cameras are already installed and the city would use the state's existing E-ZPass system to collect most tolls. Those without a pass would be charged higher fees for their commute. The plan to implement a congestion toll and the MTA's pricing structure have faced several legal challenges. New Jersey filed a lawsuit in April, claiming it would put an economic strain on its residents, Blaze News previously reported. The complaint argued that the city "failed to adequately consider the environment impacts" and "ignored the significant financial burden being placed on New Jerseyans and New Jersey's transportation system."The Trucking Association of New York also filed a lawsuit stating that the MTA's pricing framework "disproportionately targets" truckers and logistics companies, which would be fined at a higher rate than passenger vehicles.Amid the pushback, Hochul announced that she would temporarily pause the congestion toll, which was previously slated for June 30."Let's be real: a $15 charge may not mean a lot to someone who has the means, but it can break the budget of a working- or middle-class household," she stated. "It puts the squeeze on the very people who make this city go."On Wednesday, the MTA board voted 10-1 to pause the implementation of the toll despite noting that it would effectively reduce its budget by $16.5 billion. The funds were slated to go toward public transit improvements.More than 100 New York residents attended the recent board meeting; most expressed support for the toll. Some carried signs reading, "Gov, Stop Jamming Up Good Law," "Congestion Pricing = Faster Commutes," and "Fix the Subway!" Janno Lieber, the MTA CEO, said, "We will be ready to put Humpty Dumpty back together as quickly as possible.""We can keep the machinery of congestion pricing in operating order so it's ready when the temporary pause is in fact lifted," he added.Assembly member Michael Tannousis (R) stated that he opposes the toll."I am a major opponent of congestion pricing because I believe, and evidence has shown, it would be fundamentally unfair to the outer boroughs, especially Staten Island and especially Bay Ridge," Tannousis said. "Don't get me wrong, I am a user of mass transit. I use the Express bus and I also use the subway. However, this plan would have been to the benefit of a few and the detriment of many."In a statement released after the MTA board's vote, Hochul promised to find "new revenue sources.""While the timing of the next budget may necessitate temporary adjustments to the timeline of certain contracts, there is no reason for New Yorkers to be concerned that any planned projects will not be delivered," she remarked.Like Blaze News? Ubisoft confirms older Assassin’s Creed games will get remakes

I used to try and keep up with the Assassin’s Creed series - I really did. Then somewhere along the way, I lost track of what’s new and what’s a spinoff and where the mainline games begin and end. I suspect many feel the same way, though I have little evidence for it. It means that the early Assassin’s Creed games hold a special place in my heart, and it just went aflutter with the news that some older games in the series are getting remakes.
