Actor Morgan Freeman said in an interview over the weekend that he despises the concept of Black History Month because black history is a part of American history. Freeman, who is black, made the remarks during an interview with Variety while discussing his past projects, including the Civil War series “The Gray House.” “I detest it. The mere idea of it,” Freeman said. “You are going to give me the shortest month in a year? And you are going to celebrate ‘my’ history?! This whole idea makes my teeth itch. Catherine, Princess of Wales, made her first public appearance on Saturday since announcing to the world that she was undergoing preventive cancer treatment. The British royal was photographed smiling and waving at the crowd during the annual Trooping the Colour parade, which is held every year to celebrate the monarch’s birthday. The 42-year-old mom of three was seen riding in a covered carriage with her three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.  Prince William, who is first in line to the throne, rode in the parade on horseback. Later, the royal family was photographed together as they watched a Royal Air Force fly over from the balcony of Buckingham Palace. The Princess of Wales has been keeping a low profile since announcing her cancer treatment in March. This came after she stopped attending public events following planned abdominal surgery early in the year.  “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,” she said at the time. “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.” “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” the princess added. It can be so easy to forget how many good people there are in the world. Then, moments like this happen. While at a local cafe, a Reddit user named Violets-4-Roses experienced an unforgettable random act of kindness. On this particular day, she had both her daughter and baby nephew with her. The only other person in the cafe was a man they didn’t know. This leads Mom to believe that he could hear just about everything they were saying. After a while, the man left. Soon after, however, he returned — but this time, the stranger had a card in his hand. Without any explanation, he hands Mom the card, simply sharing that “someone has left this for you.” It was clear, though, that the card was from him. Inside was money for ice cream, along with a sweet message. Reddit “Treat the children to some ice cream,” the message starts. “You are a great mum and a good role model. Keep doing what you are doing. Your children are a credit to you.” Needless to say, this Mom was absolutely floored by the kindness of this stranger. Since she didn’t get the chance to talk to him, she decided to find out if any of the cafe workers knew anything about him. Stranger Surprises Mom With Money and a Heartfelt Card “I spoke to the women who run the cafe to see if they knew who he was,” Mom recounts, “and they said he usually leaves money behind the counter to pay for a few families’ orders anonymously, as he had a very poor upbringing and wants to help other families.” So, turns out, this man has become known for helping strangers in similar ways.
