Dog and cat reunite with owners after month away and their ‘differing’ responses are hilarious

Reunions are always heartwarming, especially when they involve our beloved pets. After a month apart, a family reunited with their pitbull and cat, showcasing a delightful contrast in their reactions. The excitement was evident as the pitbull couldn’t contain his joy, while the cat, in typical feline fashion, displayed a more subdued demeanor. This reunion... ABC, NBC Pounce on Deceptive SCOTUS Audio to Distract from Pelosi Vid

On Monday, Congressional Republicans released unused video from a January 6 documentary by Alexandra Pelosi which showed her mother, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) admitting that the lack of security was her “responsibility.” But after ignoring the video that night, the Tuesday morning newscasts of ABC and NBC pounced on unauthenticated (a status they admitted to) audio of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito being pestered by a progressive activist masquerading as a conservative and secretly recording him. In the newly released video of then-Speaker Pelosi, the Democrat exclaimed: “Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?!” An unidentified female voice suggested they thought they had “sufficient” security before Pelosi snapped, saying: “No, that is not a question of how they had – They don’t know! They clearly didn’t know! And I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more.” But the liberal broadcast networks were given an out by progressive activist Lauren Windsor, who conveniently just released highly edited audio she secretly recorded at the Supreme Court Historical Society’s annual gala last week. Audio she recorded while deceptively claiming to be a conservative Catholic. It was another excuse for the liberal media to continue their campaign to rip at the legitimacy of the U.S. Supreme Court. Ultimately, what she released was nothing of consequence, but that didn’t stop NBC’s Today from framing it as “More controversy this morning surrounding Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and his wife,” as described by senior Washington correspondent Hallie Jackson. “Those recordings, getting a lot of attention this morning, capturing the outlook of Justice Alito who’s devoutly Catholic along with his wife and the chief justice,” she gawked.     But what did Alito say that was supposedly so controversial? Well, one side wins in political battles, and getting along is difficult: JACKSON: Alito asked by Windsor about a nation divided between left and right, saying -- ALITO: One side or the other is going to win. There can be a way of working, a way of living together peacefully, but it's difficult, you know, because there are differences on fundamental things that really can't be compromised. Congratulations liberal media! You caught Alito describing politics in a democracy. Truly groundbreaking. Jackson did note that “NBC News has not heard the full recordings, only what's been posted online, and not able to confirm what edits have been made,” but that didn’t stop her from using them. Over on ABC’s Good Morning America, chief justice correspondent Pierre Thomas announced, “we’re not airing [the audio clips] here” because “ABC News has not authenticated the audio.” Instead, he decided to cherry-pick quotes to read with little context (not that there was much context provided by the progressive activist to begin with): In one exchange, Windsor poses a leading question to Alito suggesting there can be no compromise between the left and right. Alito appearing to agree saying, there are fundamental differences that are, quote, “difficult to resolve.” Windsor kept pushing Alito saying, quote, “people I this county who believe in God have got to keep fighting for that, to return our country to a place of godliness.” Alito responds, saying, “I agree with you. I agree with you.” “This morning there are serious questions about Windsor's tactics of lying and misleading the justices,” Thomas concluded. Meanwhile, Jackson reported: “The Historical Society, which hosted the event where the recordings were made, says in a statement they ‘condemn the surreptitious recording of justices’ there, which they say is ‘inconsistent with the spirit of the evening.’” CBS Evening News and CBS Mornings didn't report on either the Pelosi video or the Alito audio. The transcripts are below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s Good Morning America June 11, 2024 7:06:46 a.m. Eastern GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: We’re going to turn now the Supreme Court in the spotlight again this morning after secret records of Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito were released. Our chief justice correspondent Pierre Thomas has the story. Good morning, Pierre. PIERRE THOMAS: George, good morning. Today, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and Chief Justice John Roberts are in the spotlight after a woman posing a conservative Christian allegedly secretly recorded them at a black tie event last week. Lauren Windsor seeking out the justices at the Supreme Court Historical Society’s annual gala in an apparent attempt to engage them in a culture wars debate. At one point the liberal filmmaker starts a conversation with Justice Alito, a well-known, staunch conservative on the court. Windsor has posted what appears to be edited audio on X. ABC News has not authenticated the audio and we’re not airing it here. In one exchange, Windsor poses a leading question to Alito suggesting there can be no compromise between the left and right. I agree with you.” George. STEPHANOPOULOS: Very different responses from Chief Justice Roberts? THOMAS: That’s right, George. Windsor also approaches Roberts, a moderate conservative, suggesting to him that America is a Christian nation. Roberts pushes back, quote, “Yeah, I don't know that we live in a Christian nation. I know a lot of Jewish and Muslim friends who would say maybe not. And it's not our job to do that. It's our job to decide the cases as best we can.” This morning there are serious questions about Windsor's tactics of lying and misleading the justices. We sought comment from Windsor and justices but have not heard back. George. STEPHANOPOULOS: Okay. Pierre Thomas. Thanks very much. NBC’s Today June 11, 2024 7:07:59 a.m. Eastern HODA KOTB: Let's turn to those audiotapes being made public of Supreme Court Justices John Roberts and Samuel Alito, along with Alito's wife. They were secretly recorded by a progressive activist at a recent event. NBC’s senior Washington correspondent Hallie Jackson is on that story. Hey Hallie, good morning. HALLIE JACKSON: Hey Hoda, good morning. Those recordings, getting a lot of attention this morning, capturing the outlook of justice Alito who’s devoutly Catholic along with his wife and the chief justice. Now, we should note that NBC News has not heard the full recordings, only what's been posted online, and not able to confirm what edits have been made. But this is the latest spotlight on the court as it barrels toward the end of a consequential term. [Cuts to video] More controversy this morning surrounding Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and his wife after they were secretly recorded at a gala dinner last week. Alito approached by Lauren Windsor a progressive activist known for recording conservative political figures while posing as an ally. Alito asked by Windsor about nation divided between left and right, saying -- JUSTICE SAMUEL ALITO: One side or the other is going to win. There can be a way of working, a way of living together peacefully, but it's difficult, you know, because there are differences on fundamental things that really can't be compromised. JACKSON: After Windsor said the country needs to return to a place of godliness, Alito responding, “I agree.” The conversation recorded during the Supreme Court Historical Society's annual dinner June 3rd. Alito, who’s on the conservative-wing of the court, has recently been embroiled in controversy after pictures emerged of flags associated with, among other things, election denial and January 6th rioters flying outside his house. Alito had responded that his wife, Martha-Ann raised the flags. She was also recorded by Windsor who told her she was being persecuted. Mrs. Alito responding. MARTHA-ANN ALITO: I'm German from Germany. My heritage is German. You come after me, I’m going to give it back to you. JACKSON: And discussing other flags she wanted to fly at their house. M.A. ALITO: You know what I want? I want a sacred heart of Jesus flag because I have to look across the lagoon at the pride flag for the next month. JACKSON: Windsor approached Chief Justice John Roberts who responded more cautiously to her questioning asked about whether the court should lead the country on a more moral path -- CHIEF JUSTICE JOHN ROBERTS: No, I think the role for the court is deciding the cases. JACKSON: The Chief Justice also pushing back on Windsor's assertion that the U.S. is a Christian nation and the court's role is to guide it on that path. ROBERTS: I don't know that we live in a Christian nation. I know a lot of Jewish and Muslim friends who would say maybe not, and it's not our job to do that. [Cuts back to live] JACKSON: The court has not responded to a request for comment, but the Historical Society, which hosted the event where the recordings were made, says in a statement they “condemn the surreptitious recording of justices” there, which they say is “inconsistent with the spirit of the evening.” Hoda. KOTB: All right, Hallie Jackson for us there in D.C. Hallie, thank you.

Five reasons ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ is the girlboss movie we actually DO need

Nearly ten years ago, "Mad Max: Fury Road," featuring Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy, dazzled audiences across the globe with its post-apocalyptic, dystopian narrative. The film was a success, scoring 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and winning six Oscars. Now the franchise is back with a new film, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, but does the movie live up to its predecessor? Many have been skeptical of “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” given that most modern female-centric films tend to come with a progressive agenda. “Leading up to its release, a lot of people were rolling their eyes thinking that this is going to be just another tale of a woke feminist girlboss,” says Lauren Chen, who's BlazeTV's guru when it comes to exposing woke cinema. Surprisingly, however, “almost nobody – especially those who've actually seen the movie – are calling it woke, feminist, or implying that Furiosa is a girlboss in any type of way.” “Even though Furiosa is a woman and she is strong and a main character, she is far, far from the Mary Sue likes of Rey or Captain Marvel that people are so keen to hate on,” Lauren explains, adding that “Furiosa is a good case study of how a character can be strong and a woman and competent but also not be a feminist Mary Sue wet dream.” What makes Furiosa a real girlboss? For starters, “she actually makes mistakes,” unlike the Mary Sue archetype, who is practically perfect in every way. Further, “she actually has to learn, grow, and rise through the ranks in order to be successful,” says Lauren, who condemns Rey and Captain Marvel as examples of modern-day Mary Sues who’ve “gotten everything that they want right away without ever having to work.” “[Furiosa] really starts from nothing – a little girl with no skills … and it's only after years and years and years that she eventually gains not only a title that is worthy of respect but also skills to go along with that.” “Reason number three why Furiosa is not a Mary Sue,” according to Lauren, “is that she does not have magical superpowers that make her better and stronger than everybody.” In fact, “she gets her own a** handed to her many, many times throughout the film. She even loses an arm because she gets outsmarted,” Lauren explains. “She’s a character who goes through hell, which makes her interesting.” Additionally, Furiosa’s character diverges from the typical female lead role in that she actually “depends on other people” – unlike the trendy goddess archetype whose strength and independence transcend any need for support or community. “Furiosa herself is not perfect, and that actually allows for other characters to, you know, do things in the movie that are meaningful,” says Lauren. The last reason for why "Furiosa" is not a Mary Sue film has to do with the male characters in the movie. To hear the final point, watch the clip below. NC State's 1983 championship team sues NCAA for NIL compensation over years of using team members' likenesses

After 41 years, 10 members of the 1983 national champion basketball team from North Carolina State are suing the NCAA and the Collegiate Licensing Company for unauthorized use of their likenesses.NC State won a dramatic NCAA championship in 1983 by a score of 54-52 with a last-second dunk by Lorenzo Charles. The NC State team was known as the "Cardiac Pack" after a series of close victories in the tournament, culminating in the team's championship win over a star-studded Houston team. The opposing squad had two future NBA Hall of Fame members in Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon. Coach Jim Valvano running onto the court after the game became an iconic highlight that was reportedly used in many NCAA tournament promotions, according to ESPN.Those clips have become a point of contention after former players filed a lawsuit in Wake County Superior Court in North Carolina for the unauthorized use of their names, images, and likenesses.'Student-athletes' value to the NCAA does not end with their graduation.'The players are reportedly seeking "reasonable compensation.""For more than 40 years, the NCAA and its co-conspirators have systematically and intentionally misappropriated the Cardiac Pack's publicity rights — including their names, images, and likenesses — associated with that game and that play, reaping scores of millions of dollars from the Cardiac Pack's legendary victory," the lawsuit reportedly said. The lawsuit is bringing into question whether or not the value of student-athletes ends when they graduate and whether archival footage or other products should constitute using a player's likeness, rights, etc."Student-athletes' value to the NCAA does not end with their graduation; archival footage and other products constitute an ongoing income stream for the NCAA long after the students whose images are used have moved on from college," the lawsuit added.Plaintiffs in the case included the following former NC State players: Thurl Bailey, Alvin Battle, Walt Densmore, Tommy DiNardo, Terry Gannon, George McClain, Cozell McQueen, Walter Proctor, Harold Thompson, and Mike Warren. The NCAA has not yet responded to requests for comment from outlets such as the Associated Press. Young athletes have been able to take in millions from NIL agreements with the NCAA, capitalizing on their sometimes massive social media followings.According to On3, which tracks NIL valuations, the top earner is the University of Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL great Deion Sanders, making an estimated $4.6 million.Second on the list is LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, who, with over 9 million social media followers, is being paid an estimated $3.9 million. Texas quarterback Arch Manning of the legendary Manning football family is fourth on the list with a $2.4 million valuation.Like Blaze News? Hunter Biden: Convicted felon

Hunter Biden, the only surviving son of President Joe Biden, has been convicted of three federal gun-related charges. On Tuesday morning, after deliberating for just three hours total, the jury convicted Biden on three felony counts. The first two counts relate to making false statements on a federal ATF form. When Biden purchased a firearm in October 2018, he claimed on the required form that he was not a drug addict. He also signed the form. The third count relates to possessing the gun. Federal law prohibits drug addicts from purchasing and possessing guns. Biden bought the gun on October 12, 2018, and his former lover, Hallie Biden — the widow of Biden's brother, Beau — threw the gun away 11 days later.Biden now faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $750,000. However, this is his first offense, so he is not likely to receive the maximum sentence. Last week, President Biden pledged not to pardon his son, should he be convicted. This is a breaking story. It will be updated as it unfolds.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Dragon Age The Veilguard is “just as grim” as its predecessors

When I saw the trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard during the 2024 Xbox Showcase, I cried - full blown cried. I've been waiting for the fourth installment in the ongoing saga for what feels like as long as I can remember, and while the trailer is everything I expected and more, it did feel very clean. For me, one of the best parts of Dragon Age is emerging from combat covered in blood, guts, and Darkspawn gore, but there's a distinct lack of bodily fluids in the trailer. At a sunny picnic table - a quiet spot amid the chaos of Summer Game Fest - I ask creative director John Epler about the response to the trailer, and he assures me that the dark fantasy we love is still very much alive in Thedas.
