Video Catches Moment When Retired Apollo 8 Astronaut Is Killed In Plane Crash Over Washington

Apollo 8 astronaut and San Juan County resident William Anders, 90, was killed in a plane crash over Puget Sound in Washington on Friday afternoon, and the incident was caught on video. Fox 13 reported that the plane — a viPntage Air Force T-34 Mentor, a small prop plane — belonged to Anders and that his friends said he was flying the plane when it crashed. Video showed the plane smacking the water at a high rate of speed as he appeared to be trying to pull up. A large flame briefly erupted with a plume of black smoke. “A Beechcraft T-34 Mentor crashed into the water near Roche Harbor, Washington, around 11:40 a.m. local time Friday, June 7. Only the pilot was on board,” the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate,” the statement added. His son, Greg Anders, said in a statement: “The family is devastated. He was a great pilot. He will be missed.” WATCH: ? The report noted that Anders was the first person to read from scripture. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth,” he said while reading Genesis. “And the Earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.” https://x.com/BNONews/status/1799226986671616327

10 best world premiere video game reveals at Summer Game Fest 2024

There were loads of fantastic game releases in the Summer Game Fest 2024, but there are definitely some I’m going to be checking out the moment I can. Enotria, The Last Song Image: Enotria The Last Song To kickstart this list, I’m choosing what is currently my most anticipated game: Enotria, The Last Song. This game is oozing with flavor and theme, and it looks as though it’ll a Soulslike more akin to Bloodborne and Lies of P with the mask and weapon switching. Recent non-Fromsoft Soulslikes, like Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen, have been performing very well recently, which is a good omen for Enortia. I love the stylish classical theme – it just looks so elegant and clean. It’s about time we had a Soulslike with a more vibrant setting. The masks, the setting, the eloquence – everything looks so stylised. I can’t wait to dive in. New Palworld Island, Sakurajima  Image: Pocketpair Come on, you knew the Palworld update...

Ruhle OUTRAGED at Republican Mockery of Biden, Claims MSNBC Covers ‘Truth’

Ruhle OUTRAGED at Republican Mockery of Biden, Claims MSNBC Covers ‘Truth’

Stephanie Ruhle, host of MSNBC’s The 11th Hour, took umbrage at the response of some Republicans to a recent video of President Joe Biden at the D-Day commemoration ceremony in Normandy. In the video, which she alleged was misleadingly edited, Biden fumbled for his chair in a breach of courtesy. Ruhle, in a stroke of expert journalism, proceeded to play a longer video to show her viewers the “full truth.” The video, posted by the official RNC’s Research account, was simply captioned “Awkward” with a grimacing face emoji, but Ruhle insisted the video was altered to show Biden “struggle[d] to sit down in a missing chair.”  This prompted her to indignantly assert, “You know, on this show we like to say that the truth matters, but only if you see it, so here is the full truth,” after which she played a longer, “unedited” video where Biden can be seen sitting down.     She further defended Biden, emphatically stating “There was not an invisible chair. There was an actual chair behind him and he sat down after waiting for Secretary Austin's introduction.”  Well, the video makes it clear that Biden was all too ready to take his seat before the emcee even began introducing Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Yet, Ruhle shrieked, “how ridiculous, how disgusting, how offensive is this, that one of the most important historic days for the world, this is what the GOP is doing?” The host then came for a “mocking” tweet from hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, which she paraphrased as “Dr. Jill Biden, how could you stand for this? Look what’s happened to America.”   .@POTUS Biden is clearly out of step here. Macron and his wife, the First Lady and the entire audience clearly understand when it is appropriate to stand respectfully and when to sit down. Those who accept Biden’s failed decorum here do so in the way you look the other way from… https://t.co/CsFgnT1pOZ — Bill Ackman (@BillAckman) June 6, 2024   In fact, Ackman specifically criticized Biden’s “failed decorum” and its negative reflection on the United States during a “sacred ceremony acknowledging the United States’ role in saving the free world.” But to Ruhle, Ackman’s patriotic message was “disgusting.” One of the segment’s guests, former Democratic New York Congressman Max Rose, contributed his opinion, primarily composed of standard anti-Republican rhetoric: They support fascism abroad. They support authoritarianism abroad. They’re pro-Putin. There’s a reason why they’re making a joke of this on this day, because they just don't care about democracy and they certainly don't care about protecting liberty and they certainly don't care about supporting our veterans and respecting the fallen. And that’s why I think they’re just utterly disturbed. Ruhle closed by putting Republicans’ irrational fears to rest, reassuring viewers that there is no liberal bias in the media and the distinguished hosts at MSNBC seek only to expose the truth and facts: It’s utterly stupid when they say that the media goes after Republicans and there is a liberal bias. What we’re doing is covering facts and the truth and this video and this lie that was pushed is disgusting on every level. While Ruhle claims to seek truth above all else, her commitment to solemn truth-seeking only seems to go one way. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: MSNBC’s The 11th Hour 6/6/2024 11:29:12 PM EST STEPHANIE RUHLE: An official RNC account today posted a misleading video of President Biden on one of the most important historic days. In the video, we’re showing it on the screen, he appears, for a moment, to struggle to sit down in a missing chair at the D-Day event in France. You know, on this show we like to say that the truth matters, but only if you see it, so here is the full truth. Watch this. [Cuts to video] EMCEE: Distinguished guests, please welcome the Honorable Lloyd J. Austin III, Secretary of Defense of the United States of America. [Cuts back to live] RUHLE: There was not an invisible chair. There was an actual chair behind him and he sat down after waiting for Secretary Austin's introduction. Max, how ridiculous, how disgusting, how offensive is this, that one of the most important historic days for the world, this is what the GOP is doing? This morning I saw Bill Ackman, New York's new $8 billion man, mocking this, saying “Dr. Jill Biden, how could you stand for this? Look what’s happened to America.” This is disgusting! MAX ROSE: Yeah, they’re sick. These people are sick. I mean, and that’s a word that you will often hear Donald Trump use, you know, trying to talk about, uh, the left and Progressives and this and that ‘cause they care about working people, ‘cause they care about justice and equality. Nah, I’ll tell you what’s sick. What’s sick is when the Republican Party takes a moment, a solemn moment where we are honoring hundreds of thousands of young men who paid the ultimate sacrifice, not just for the United States of America, for the defense of freedom worldwide. They make a mockery of that and you know what they also do? They support fascism abroad. RUHLE: It’s utterly stupid when they say that the media goes after Republicans and there is a liberal bias. What we’re doing is covering facts and the truth and this video and this lie that was pushed is disgusting on every level. (...)

Cannabis tax attorney running against GOP's Stefanik floats 're-education camp' for 'MAGA' Trump supporters after election

A cannabis tax attorney running against Republican U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik in New York’s 21st Congressional District floated the notion of a "re-education camp" for "MAGA" supporters of former President Donald Trump following November's election, Fox News reported.Democrat Paula Collins made the comments during a public Zoom town hall this week, the cable news network said. You can listen to audio of her comments here.'This is yet another reason why President Trump, Elise Stefanik, and voters in Upstate [New York] and across America will clean the Democrats’ clocks at the ballot box this November.'"Even if we were to have a resounding blue wave come through, as many of us would like, putting it all back together again after we’ve gone through this MAGA nightmare and re-educating, basically — which, that sounds like a rather, um [laughs] a re-education camp," Collins said during the town hall. "I don’t think we really want call it that. I’m sure we can find another way to phrase it."Collins explained her comments in an email to Fox News Digital: "We currently have lawmakers, including Rep. Elise Stefanik, who mis-quote or mis-understand the law. Even if MAGA were to be resoundingly defeated, we would need to engage in widespread civics education, which both red and blue voters acknowledge has been slipping in recent years."Collins added that "the goal would be such that regular citizens could understand the process by which the state courts process matters, compared to the federal court circuit, and so forth," Fox New noted."Rep. Elise Stefanik does not show a good understanding of the court structure in her home state of New York," Collins also told the cable news network. In addition, Fox News said Collins emphasized that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's recent case against Trump is "a state matter, not a federal matter," adding that Stefanik's "outcry bespeaks a lack of basic civics education, as well as a basic lack of respect for the state supreme court system in her home State of New York.""Similarly, many voters have misunderstandings and lack of regard for basic judicial systems that underscore the need for civics education," she also told the cable news network.Stefanik's senior advisor Alex DeGrasse hit back hard against Collins' comments."This radical New York City Democrat Socialist who literally is renting a bed and breakfast room in NY-21 was caught on tape saying she wants to force Trump voters through ‘re-education camps,’" DeGrasse told Fox News, adding that "this is yet another reason why President Trump, Elise Stefanik, and voters in Upstate [New York] and across America will clean the Democrats’ clocks at the ballot box this November."Collins has said that before this spring, she lived full time in New York City, the cable news network said, adding that election documents show Collins is based out of her law office — the Law Office of Paula Collins, PLLC — in New York City. Fox News added that she rents a room in a rental housing unit in Canton, New York, in order to claim residency in the 21st district.Like Blaze News? Colorado man given historic 448-year prison sentence for sex trafficking 4 women and 2 minors after refusing 40-year deal

A Colorado judge issued a historic prison sentence on Tuesday against a man who was convicted of sex trafficking numerous victims, including two juveniles, four women, and one man. Robert Hawkins was convicted of 18 counts, including five counts of human trafficking in a Denver District Court. KDVR-TV reported that Hawkins had originally been offered a plea deal of 40 years in prison that he refused. 'I am relieved this monster is locked away for good.' The seven victims all testified against Hawkins in a trial that lasted a month and ended in his conviction in March. Chief Deputy District Attorney Lara Mullin said that law enforcement officials realized that Hawkins had been involved in a shooting that was later identified as an incident of sex trafficking. “Ultimately, what we realized is that these are all kind of co-related — in the process of building that case and starting to really look into what Robert Hawkins was doing over the years,” Mullin said. “We then identified another victim who had been involved in an incident where Robert Hawkins had in fact shot a sex buyer after he dropped her off on Colfax Avenue. And at the time that case came in, we didn't realize that human trafficking was happening.” An arrest warrant said that his victims were forced under threat of violence to cook for him in addition to selling their bodies. One victim was as young as 13 years old when the abuse began. “The girls were required to make a minimum of $500 per day,” read an excerpt from the affidavit. “They were also required to make a $5,000 quota to gain Hawkins’ trust. This quota was intended to help pay for a fake identification and birth certificate in order for the girls to travel to and perform sex work in California.” “Robert Hawkins ... took advantage of six extremely vulnerable victims, and now he will pay a significant price for his crimes.” KMGH-TV obtained one of the statements made by one of the man's adult victims. I am glad for all the victims, including minors, getting justice due to an inhumane action Mr. Hawkins has done to us, and I’m glad he will be serving the rest of his life behind bars! He took our freedom from us, now he got his taken from him. I am relieved this monster is locked away for good. I’m also glad the man who got shot got justice also!Denver District Attorney Beth McCann also released a statement after the sentencing. “I'm hoping that today's sentence will send the message that human trafficking will not be tolerated in this community and it will be prosecuted aggressively,” she said. “Robert Hawkins, like most human traffickers, showed no regard for anyone but himself, took advantage of six extremely vulnerable victims, and now he will pay a significant price for his crimes.” One juror said after the trial that the prosecutor's case made it easy for them to convict. “The prosecution did a great job of presenting really solid evidence, and there were a few questions, and again, we took it very seriously,” said the juror, who did not want to be identified publicly. “We went through a lot of information, a lot of evidence, but it was pretty apparent what was happening," the juror added. The previous conviction with the longest human trafficking sentence was 401 years, which was also from Colorado. Like Blaze News? Fantastic Steam roguelike set to add co-op and more in big update

One of the best roguelike games in recent years will soon get even better. Cult of the Lamb combines combat reminiscent of action games like Hades and The Binding of Isaac with a base building and management side that has you sacrificing followers to an Eldritch god like some sort of devilish midpoint between Animal Crossing and Darkest Dungeon. Now a new update is set to bring a hefty helping of upgrades aside the long-requested addition of co-op. Acclaimed puzzle game announces sprawling expansion, available soon

The Talos Principle 2 is one of the best. Created by Serious Sam 4 studio Croteam, The Talos Principle games are a slower paced and philosophically focused deviation from tradition by a team best known for frenetic FPS design. Both the 2014 debut and 2023 sequel showed that Croteam was more than up to the task of shifting genres, with The Talos Principle 2 gaining a place alongside modern puzzle classics like The Witness, Portal and Portal 2, Islands of Insight, and Return of the Obra Dinn. Now, players who are looking for more of The Talos Principle 2 are in luck: a brand new expansion called Road to Elysium has just been announced, and it's coming out very soon.
