‘South Park’ mocks Lizzo and body positivity movement; Lizzo takes it as a compliment

While most television shows now cater to the “woke” community, "South Park" is one of the few that have remained strong. In its just-released “The End of Obesity'' episode, the creators mocked the new Ozempic weight-loss craze, as well as the face of the body positivity movement: Lizzo. In one scene, Stan’s mother, Sharon Marsh, tells her friend that she had been feeling ashamed of herself because she’d been unable to secure Ozempic in order to lose weight. “I’m telling you Sheila, these new drugs are pretty amazing. I was feeling so ashamed of myself, watching Randy go out and exercise all the time and not eating as much, but I just don’t have the same kind of willpower he has,” Sharon told her friend Sheila. “There’s a whole new obesity drug for those of us who can’t afford Ozempic and Monjaro. I’ve controlled all my cravings to be thinner with Lizzo!” Sharon exclaims, before a pharmaceutical commercial for “Lizzo” begins. “FDA approved ‘Lizzo’ makes you feel good about your weight, and it costs 90% less than Ozempic,” the commercial begins. “I've lowered my standards and my expectations,” Sharon exclaims happily. “In case studies, 70% of patients on ‘Lizzo’ no longer cared how much they weigh. ‘Lizzo’ helps you eat everything you want and keep physical activity to a minimum. Some patients report constipation while listening to ‘Lizzo.’ Stop listening to ‘Lizzo’ if you experience suicidal thoughts,’” the commercial continues. Lizzo responded to the show in a livestream. “I just feel like damn, I’m really that b*tch. I’m really that b*tch. I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f*** to the point where these men in Colorado know who I am and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years.” Dave Rubin is thrilled, noting that "South Park" has been ahead on pretty much everything. “Now, we have something going on with this body positivity movement and that somehow being fit is white supremacist or something like that,” Rubin says, telling athlete Riley Gaines that her generation now connects to the idea that “big is beautiful.” “I think she took it as a compliment,” Gaines tells Rubin. “But yeah, we see the glorification daily of anything that is immoral, anything that is evil, anything that is unhealthy. We have seen this the past few years, but the mask is off now.” Want more from Dave Rubin? To enjoy more honest conversations, free speech, and big ideas with Dave Rubin, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Can the Democrats scare the Supreme Court out of hearing Trump’s appeal?

Can the Democrats scare the Supreme Court out of hearing Trump’s appeal?

Donald Trump has been convicted on 34 counts in his New York hush-money trial — and Americans everywhere are horrified. Not only because the former president may be going to prison, but the additional looming consequences could be game-changing. “I think it also will be used as the excuse for Joe Biden not debating him. ‘I don’t debate a felon,’” Glenn Beck predicts, mocking Biden. “They’re moving past this and they’re moving to the Supreme Court,” Glenn continues. “They are launching cannon balls at the ship, saying, ‘Don’t you dare get involved in this trial.’” “They sent the message to Alito and Thomas and everybody else, ‘Back off, stay down,’” he explains. “That’s the entire point of this process, in a nutshell, is intimidation. Telling them to back down, do not stand in our way,” Glenn’s chief researcher, Jason Buttrill, agrees. “I’m glad you talk about this going to the Supreme Court. This is absolutely getting appealed,” Buttrill says. “But first he has to go to sentencing. Now, normally, in a sane world, I would say you know he’s only going to get probation, maybe at the very worst like house arrest.” While the Democrats are doing everything they can to keep Trump out of the White House, their plan might be backfiring when it comes to their support. “People who didn’t vote and don’t like Donald Trump, I’ve seen them yesterday give and commit to voting for him,” Glenn says, adding that however, “there is a chance this works out horribly.” Want more from Glenn Beck?To enjoy more of Glenn’s masterful storytelling, thought-provoking analysis, and uncanny ability to make sense of the chaos, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

‘The Office’ new spin-off series has been greenlit, but will it flop?

‘The Office’ new spin-off series has been greenlit, but will it flop?

In a development that could be either devastating or thrilling for fans of “The Office,” the famous show has been greenlit for a spin-off series. The Peacock series will be a fresh mockumentary featuring a brand-new cast within the same universe as Dunder Mifflin — where all the fan favorite characters worked. However, the show will not be set in Scranton, Pennsylvania, but instead at a failing Midwestern paper company. “Because this new series will technically be a spin-off instead of a straight reboot, we are at least avoiding the possibility that we get black trans Michael Scott or, I don’t know, nonbinary Mexican Jim Halpert,” Lauren Chen says, who is admittedly a huge fan of the original series. But Chen is skeptical. “NBC has been so very blatant in marketing it specifically as a spin-off to ‘The Office,’” Chen says. "They had the opportunity, there was the possibility, of just marketing this new as of yet untitled show as a new sitcom from the creator of ‘The Office.’” “However, the fact that they are really making it clear that no, this is a spin-off of ‘The Office’ and it’s the same universe, it kind of seems like they’re cheaply trying to attach ‘The Office’ and all the goodwill and fandom that show now has to this new thing.” “It feels very cheap,” she adds. While fans of “The Office” have hoped that old cast members will return to the new show, Chen says the “lead stars of the original series are absolutely not interested in it.” Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott in the original series, shot the idea down right away in an appearance on Stephen Colbert’s show. “I doubt it,” Scott said when Colbert asked if he’d appear in the show. “He’s not interested; he’s not in it,” Chen says. “Keep in mind, this is someone who didn’t even want to finish the rest of the original series. He peaced out.” John Krasinski, who played the beloved Jim Halpert in the original series, has also said he won’t be in the spin-off series either. “I’m just not confident that it’s going to be done well. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong,” Chen says. LA County FD tried to force Christian lifeguard to fly LGBTQ flag, retaliated against him when he refused: Lawsuit

A man who has spent more than two decades with the Los Angeles County Fire Department is now suing the agency after its leadership allegedly tried to force him to raise an LGBTQ flag at his lifeguard stand at Will Rogers Beach in Pacific Palisades and then retaliated against him when he refused to comply. In March 2023, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution that requires all county-controlled buildings to fly a "Progress Pride Flag" during the month of June, sometimes referred to as Pride Month. Three months later, Jeffrey Little, an LACoFD captain lifeguard who has been with the agency for 22 years, requested an exemption from having to raise the flag at his lifeguard station because he is a Christian who holds traditional beliefs regarding gender, marriage, and the equality of all persons regardless of race, the Christian Post reported.'Just have someone else raise the flag.'According to a statement from the Thomas More Society, a legal nonprofit representing Little, the LACoFD initially complied with Little's request, assuring him that he would not have to hoist the flag personally or ensure that someone else raised it during the month of June in accordance with the county resolution. That assurance was short-lived. On June 21, 2023, just two days after granting Little's request, the department rescinded its agreement. The department then allegedly subjected Little to harassment and retaliation because of his beliefs. One day after the accommodation was revoked, Division Chief Fernando Boiteux issued Little a direct order to raise the flag, according to a federal lawsuit filed on Little's behalf late last month. "You are an LA County employee, that’s the only thing that matters," Boiteux reportedly told Little. "Your religious beliefs do not matter."When Little still refused, he was allegedly removed from a background investigation unit at the department and later allegedly threatened with termination. He and his daughters even received death threats after someone from the department leaked his accommodation request to an unauthorized person, the TMS statement said. With the lawsuit, Little is seeking reinstatement with the department's investigation unit, compensation for lost wages and other damages, the removal of all negative statements on his permanent record in connection with the LGBTQ flag issue, and permanent assurance that he will never have to fly it.TMS' Paul Jonna believes the case is fairly cut and dry. "For a devout Christian to ask for an accommodation not to have to personally raise the flag is such an easy accommodation, such a simple solution: just have someone else raise the flag," Jonna told the Christian Post. "Devout Christians need to have protections in place. There needs to be strong precedent in place protecting them, and the law already provides for that protection."The fire department declined requests for comment from the Post and the National Desk.Like Blaze News?
