San Francisco thief used Target's self-checkout service to steal $60,000 worth of merchandise over 120 visits

A thief in California exploited Target's self-checkout service by dashing off with $60,000 worth of merchandise over 100 visits to the retail store. This comes as more stores are utilizing self-checkout services instead of employees physically scanning customers' items. The New York Post reported that Aziza Graves, 43, paid a visit to the Target at the Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco a staggering 120 times between October 3, 2020, and November 16, 2021.Graves' elaborate scheme consisted of picking items off the shelves and making her way to the self-checkout counter, scanning her items, and paying a nominal amount, such as a single bill or coin, before ultimately making off with her loot.“Individuals such as Aziza Graves commit egregious thefts through brazen and repeated conduct that greatly impacts retailers’ ability to operate and serve the general public in their area."Graves was ultimately arrested in November 2021 after investigators and the San Francisco Police Department followed her inside the Target location. After she left the store with the stolen items, she would make her way to the city's United Nations Plaza, where she sold the items to vendors of stolen property, per the report. San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said Graves "subsequently began to sell her stolen goods to anyone passing by."Jenkins went on to say "[r]etail theft continues to have a major impact on San Francisco businesses from the small mom-and-pop corner store to the large retail stores."A second report noted that after a trial by jury, Graves was convicted last Friday of one felony count of grand theft and a staggering 52 misdemeanor counts of petty theft from Target. The woman was also convicted on one count of misdemeanor petty theft concerning a theft that took place at an Abercrombie and Fitch location in the city. — (@) “Individuals such as Aziza Graves commit egregious thefts through brazen and repeated conduct that greatly impacts retailers’ ability to operate and serve the general public in their area,” Jenkins said.“These crimes demand accountability and we need to send the message to others who engage in open and brash thefts that, with the support of our local law enforcement partners, our office will continue to pursue and prosecute those involved.“This verdict emphasizes that the citizens of San Francisco will not tolerate these offenders who attempt to take advantage of our business community.”However, Jenkins did not offer any solutions to cut down on the prevalence of theft and crimes committed against businesses. Luckily, iFixit’s Pro Tech Toolkit is on sale at Amazon, Best Buy, and iFixit for $59.96 ($15 off), matching the lowest price we’ve seen on the versatile tool set. Davy Jones’ Daughter Reflects On Growing Up With The Monkees

The Monkees was one of the most famous pop bands of the late ‘60s, with Davy Jones as the perfect frontman for the group, thanks to his talent, looks, and endearing sense of humor. Jones left the group in 1970 to pursue his solo career; however, he last performed with them in 2011 at a Milwaukee show. Jones died at 66 in 2012 after a heart attack from arteriosclerosis, but his legacy lives on through his music and four children— Annabelle, Jessica, Talia, and Sarah. His third wife, Jessica Pacheco, described him as a childlike and “a funny person” during a recent chat with Closer. Growing up with The Monkees Davy Jones at the Hollywood Collector’s Show in Burbank, CA on July 18, 2009 Jones has Talia and Sarah with his first wife, Linda Haines, during the peak of The Monkees’ career. Sarah recalled growing up in rural Santa Barbara County as a “normal” kid in the small town. She revealed how they had to do their own chores, ride bicycles to school, and handle themselves without “maids and nannies.” RELATED: How The Monkees Popularized A World-Famous Toy By Drinking By the ‘80s, Jones was married to Anita Pollinger, with whom he had his last two daughters. They would all travel together on the tour bus with The Monkees, which made Jones very happy as a “family-oriented” man. For Sarah, her dad’s bandmates were like family and “a huge part of our lives.” “I remember Micky throwing us in the water; Peter was always playing guitar and making jokes. Mike was a shy goofball, but he also had one of the funniest, driest senses of humor,” she told Closer. HEAD, The Monkees: Davy Jones, Peter Tork, Mickey Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, 1968. Jones met his third wife in 2007 at a children’s theater, and by 2009, they had tied the knot at Jessica’s family home in Miami. She reminisced on his passion for horses, which she experienced herself as he gave her her first horse ride. Sarah confirmed Jessica’s claims, “every cell in his body was committed to horses.” Davy Jones, ca. 1966. Sadly, Jones’ last activity before his passing was tending to horses on his Florida farm, where he had a heart attack. Sarah and her sisters have committed to continuing their support for former racehorses via the Davy Jones Equine Memorial Fund. “It all started as something my dad was passionate about. But now we’ve made it our own,” she stated. Click for next Article The post Davy Jones’ Daughter Reflects On Growing Up With The Monkees appeared first on DoYouRemember? - The Home of Nostalgia.
