Israel Publishes Footage Showing Hamas Torturing Palestinians

The Israel Defense Forces released footage this week that was discovered inside Gaza that showed Hamas terrorists torturing Palestinian civilians. “The same civilians that Hamas outspokenly claimed to be fighting for, are the same civilians being tortured in this video,” the IDF said in a post that contained the video. “Hamas is not only Israel’s enemy—they’re Gaza’s enemy also,” the post added. IDF troops discovered what was described as “years’ worth of CCTV footage” of Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists torturing civilians in Gaza. Israel said that the footage was evidence of Hamas’ “brutal methods for interrogating civilians, violating human rights, and systematically oppressing residents suspected of opposing the organization’s rule.” (1/3) During the ground activity in the Gaza Strip, our forces uncovered materials exposing Hamas’s brutal methods for interrogating civilians, violating human rights, and systematically oppressing residents suspected of opposing the organization’s rule. pic.twitter.com/5T8HMQc13c — 4IL (@4ILorg) November 10, 2024 “The videos document Hamas activities at Outpost 17 in the Gaza Strip, where brutal interrogations of civilians suspected of opposing Hamas are conducted,” the Israeli government said. John Stamos Shares Touching Photo-Tribute To “Brother” Dave Coulier Following Cancer Announcement

During its original run on ABC, John Stamos and Dave Coulier played uncles Jesse and Joey on Full House. On-screen, they had an incredible chemistry that made their characters both lovable and believable. Even though the show ended nearly 30 years ago, we like to believe in some universe, the who are still best friends. John Stamos made a post on Instagram about Dave Coulier recently that leads us to believe they are pretty darn close. View this post on Instagram A post shared by John Stamos (@johnstamos) John Stamos Sent Well Wishes to Dave Coulier Amid Cancer News Dave announced on November 13 that he has stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He discovered his cancer after an illness a few weeks before. Dave disclosed his cancer because he wanted to be transparent about what was going on in his life and help others. He told Today, “The one thing that just kept presenting itself to me was to tell other people about it. Talk to them about getting something as simple as pre-screening or a breast exam, mammogram, a colonoscopy or a prostate exam,” he said. “It’s a really simple thing to do and it can add years to your life.” As soon as Dave made his cancer diagnosis public, his friends rallied around him, including John. He shared several photos on Instagram of the pair throughout the years with the caption, “My brother from day 1. Love you @dcoulier, and I’ll be by your side through it all.” Dave quickly responded back in the comments, “I love you and can’t wait to see you tomorrow!!!” Fans also shared their love, like this person, “He has a great support team and Bob watching over him! He’s got this!” And this one, “Such great photos. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you while ‘Joey’ heals.” This story’s featured image is by Mike Pont/FilmMagic via Getty Images. Rare Pink Pigeon Hand-Raised at UK Zoo for First time–Marking a Conservation Milestone After Species Dropped to Just 10 Wild Birds

A rare pink pigeon has been hand-reared at a UK zoo for the first time, using an innovative method for feeling baby birds. Liberal Media Takes Aim at Trump Appointees

Liberal Media Takes Aim at Trump Appointees

Well that didn’t take long. President-elect Trump has barely announced his selections for various Cabinet posts and the liberal media starts firing journalistic broadsides at them. Four Trump picks in particular have riled the so-called “mainstream” journos.  The nominee who drew instant wrath was Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, nominated as Attorney General. Mind you, it is the Biden Department of Justice and Attorney General Merrick Garland that stand accused by Republicans of using the DOJ to weaponize the law and target both President-elect Trump and various members of his first administration. One Gaetz task will surely be to clean up the mess. Following on the heels of Gaetz as a media target are three others - Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth, Director of National Security nominee Tulsi Gabbard and Department of Health and Human Services nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Hegseth, currently a Fox and Friends Weekend host, is infinitely more than a TV host. He is an Army veteran of longstanding, with service in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, earning two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantry Badge. He has written extensively about the problems with a woke Pentagon as he has experienced it personally. Gaetz is a graduate of William and Mary Law School, belonged to a prestigious Florida law firm, and, as a member of the Florida legislature, served as chairman of the Florida House Criminal Justice Subcommittee. As a member of the U.S. House, Gaetz has been a member of the House Judiciary Committee. Tulsi Gabbard, the former Democrat Congresswoman from Hawaii who left the Democrats for the GOP, has spent more than two decades in the U.S. Army National Guard. She served on active duty in both Iraq and Kuwait, and in Congress served on the House Homeland Security Committee. And RFK Jr. is, whether one likes him or not, a longtime activist on health issues. In short? All four are not only qualified for the jobs to which Trump has nominated them, they would bring the experience of their individual backgrounds to the task of running the departments they have been nominated to head. But to the liberal media? Not good enough. So the attacks on all four are tumbling forth.  The New York Times, as just one example, headlines:  Trump’s Reckless Choices for National Leadership In which all of the above are lashed for various alleged failings both governmental and personal. And make no mistake. The attacks on these four are, in a real sense, merely a distraction from what the liberal media is really all about: destroying the coming Trump presidency. Which means the media will be hard at work finding the slightest flaw, whether in a Cabinet appointment or a specific policy, that can aid in the task of getting Trump. Indeed, over there at Axios last month was this headline:  Scoop: Some top Dems won't commit to certifying a Trump win In other words?  In other words, even with the contentious 2024 election blessedly behind the nation, the liberal media will be looking for any way possible to undermine Trump and his administration in the next four years. Which is to say: As with the attacks on these four of Trump’s first Cabinet appointees, there will be more coming from the anti-Trump media. Much more. Buckle in.

OK, Doomer: How to stop the scroll and take control

OK, Doomer: How to stop the scroll and take control

You are drowning in doom. Everything only seems to go one way. The news always validates what you already suspect. It’s the same thing every day. It all just gets worse and worse. If life were truly terrible, you would have no desire to spend every waking hour brooding over depressing predictions about how everything is only going to get worse. You open your phone and you scroll just so you can get mad. The truth is that you don’t want to see any glimmer of hope. You mad? You want to be mad, you want to be sad, you want to know how bad everything is. You want the hard stuff. The dark stuff. The worse it gets, the better it is. There’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Good. You are addicted. It’s making you miserable, but you are hooked. You can’t stop. You are like the strung-out crackhead at the safe injection site, but instead of a dilapidated room and glazed-over eyes, it’s you hunched over your iPhone on your couch next to the air conditioner. Doomerism is addicting. Mainlining apocalypse It’s a modern drug of the internet. It’s like falling down a hole over and over again. You fall down and then you fall some more. And then you kind of want to see how far it goes, so you start running as fast as you can down into the black abyss. You seek out more and more obscure accounts and sources. You want to feel like apocalypse is right around the corner. You want to know all the bad stuff first so you can say “told you so” when your nightmare (secretly a fantasy) becomes reality. You want to get as depressed as you can about the state of the world. There is no future. That’s what you say. You are happiest when you are sad. That’s your dirty little secret, but you will never say it. You can’t. You have to pretend like you are dooming for the sake of the greater good. You don’t ever want to fix it. You don’t want any solutions. In fact, seeing solutions ticks you off, so you scroll right past those. Deep down, you want to hear over and over again that everything is hopeless. It’s dark. It’s twisted. And it could only exist in a time like ours. Relative material abundance, decent medical care, and a fairly predictable life when compared to most other times in history. These are the conditions for doomerism. If life were truly terrible, you would have no desire to spend every waking hour brooding over depressing predictions about how everything is only going to get worse. No. You would be hoping for any kind of lifeboat. Any kind of hope. Doomerism is a kind of LARP product of the internet and abundance-induced boredom. Terminally online A key to doomerism is the abstract nature of the engine. Doomerism is almost always primarily based on, and derived from, news or social media. The real thrust is almost never found in real, tangible life. The primary drivers tend to be far away, abstract, or found primarily in the digital realm. The farther one moves from the actual world and into the digital, the deeper into the realm of doomerism one wanders. Every doomer is terminally online. Of course, it’s very possible to be depressed offline. There are, tragically, far too many souls lost in the dark labyrinth of depression. But this is not doomerism. Every doomer, without question, is addicted to the discourse, social media, or the news cycle. These abstract digital forces take up the majority of the doomer’s daily concern. Life and living have all but evaporated for the doomer. All that remains is discourse addiction and dooming. The cure for doomerism While doomerism is a serious affliction, it can be cured. The first step to treating doomerism is reclaiming your agency and reasserting control over your personal domain. The news cycle, discourse, or latest and greatest rage-bait are worthless in your personal world. They don’t help you cultivate your culture; they don’t positively impact your personal growth or your quality of life in any meaningful way. All they do is distract you from taking control in your personal domain. They draw more and more of your attention into the domain where you are helpless while you give up any hope of impacting the domain where you are most able. Vital realism Of course this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take an interest in world affairs or politics. Of course not. But you must put these things in the right place. You must realize that overly obsessive doom and gloom are like a cancer of the spirit. Even if the doomed analysis was correct, it doesn’t help in any positive way. It is worthless. To overcome doomerism, you must return to the actual and the personal. You must learn to accept the things you cannot change and realize that all the pointlessly depressing discourse is like a drug wanting to drag you down into the toilet bowl. It might feel like it is gravely important and you need to know it, but it really isn’t and you really don’t. Think for a moment about all the extremely depressing bits of info you have learned, worried over, and then forgotten. How much of your life did you lose? We only have so much energy to expend. We can only spin so many plates at one time. If we focus every last drop of our hearts and souls on that which we are not a part of, we become spectators in our own lives. Watching carefully. Depressed about the outcome. Analyzing what could have been done differently after the fact. Dooming. The solution to doomerism is not naive Polyannaism but vital realism. It’s allocating your effort and emotion to the domains where your action is most profoundly felt. The world will not change because of doomerism. The world is indifferent to the doomer. It will change if we make positive change where we we stand. Cultivate our culture, live the values we believe, and make a positive impact on the world around us.
