‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AND HEALTHY’: Trump Taps RFK Jr. for Health and Human Services

President-elect Donald Trump announced Thursday that he would nominate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for secretary of health and human services. “I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “For too long, Americans have been crushed by the industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation when it comes to Public Health,” the president-elect added. “The Safety and Health of all Americans is the most important role of any Administration, and HHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming Health Crisis in this Country.” Trump stated his confidence that “Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!” Kennedy is the son of Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated amid the presidential election in 1968. His uncle, John F. Kennedy, served as president until his own assassination in 1963. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. grew up in the Washington, D.C., area and Massachusetts, graduating from Harvard University in 1976 and from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1982. In the 1980s he worked at two nonprofits focused on environmental activism: Riverkeeper and the National Resources Defense Council. He founded two nonprofit environmental groups. Kennedy gained prominence by raising questions about vaccines and suggesting a link between vaccines and autism, which has yet to be proven. He criticized COVID-19 measures such as lockdowns and vaccine mandates, emerging as a leading figure in the movement for holding the medical establishment accountable. He challenged President Joe Biden in the 2020 Democratic primaries, but later remained in the presidential race as an independent before endorsing Trump in August. When endorsing Trump, he condemned the Democratic Party for “dismantling” democracy in the name of saving it. He condemned the Democratic National Committe for engaging in “continual legal warfare against both President Trump and myself.” He spoke about an unholy alliance of big business, the legacy media, government agencies and nonprofits that is making Americans fat and sick. Trump announced a campaign to “Make America Healthy Again” with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in October. Kennedy’s leadership at the Department of Health and Human Services would challenge the status quo and spark a true revolution in medicine. “Robert has become a good friend of mine,” Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, said in response to the news. “I think Robert is another disruptor, we need a disruptor.” Roy called for “healthcare freedom,” expressing hope that Kennedy would “root out the bureaucracy here, beat back the insurance companies, the pharma companies, the big hospital corporations that are rolling over the little guys.” The post ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AND HEALTHY’: Trump Taps RFK Jr. for Health and Human Services appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Florida Sues FEMA Officials Over Hurricane Helene, Milton Failures

THE CENTER SQUARE—The state of Florida is suing current and former federal employees personally for allegedly ignoring storm victim households solely because of their political affiliation. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody sued current and former Federal Emergency Management Agency officials for “conspiracy to discriminate” against Florida hurricane victims because they expressed support for President-elect Donald Trump. According to whistleblower reports, FEMA workers in Lake Placid were directed to ignore storm victims in households that displayed Trump signs or flags. Moody sued Deanne Criswell, FEMA administrator, in her individual capacity, and Marn’i Washington, in her individual capacity, in U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida Fort Pierce Division. The complaint, which demands a trial by jury, alleges they directed federal relief workers to “avoid homes advertising Trump.” The relief workers were responding to hurricanes Helene and Milton that pummeled Floridians on Sept. 26 and Oct. 9, respectively. Some residents were hit hard by both hurricanes, which devastated multiple counties. FEMA fired Washington, describing her behavior as “reprehensible,” but Washington says she was used by FEMA as a scapegoat, according to several news reports. Washington also said FEMA agents were given similar instructions in North Carolina in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. According to the brief, Washington alleges senior FEMA officials who claimed they didn’t know officials were discriminating against Trump supporters “are promoting a ‘lie,’” the complaint states. “While the facts will continue to come out over the weeks and months, it is already clear that Defendant Washington conspired with senior FEMA officials, as well as those carrying out her orders, to violate the civil rights of Florida citizens,” the brief states, citing federal code that “creates a cause of action for ‘[c]onspiracy to interfere with civil rights.’” Moody said she filed the lawsuit to hold the agency accountable for violating the civil rights of Floridians. While Florida officials worked with local governments, nonprofit organizations, and others to help Floridians recover, FEMA employees “were instructed to deny aid to Trump supporters.” “Hurricane season is not over, and the federal agency in charge of emergency response is embroiled in scandal—caught withholding aid from storm victims in Florida who support President Trump,” Moody said. “I am taking swift legal action to find out how far this political discrimination reaches and to make sure all Americans who fall victim to devastating storms are served, regardless of their political affiliation.” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis also weighed in, saying, “It’s unacceptable for the federal government to discriminate against Floridians who voted for Trump, and especially egregious in the aftermath of a hurricane. I’m supportive of this legal action by the Attorney General’s Office, and I have instructed state agencies to likewise take any action necessary to investigate and ensure those who engaged in this behavior are held accountable.” The complaint notes that FEMA employees followed instructions allegedly given by Criswell and Washington “and entered in a government database messages such as ‘Trump sign no entry per leadership.’” According to information from whistleblowers, “at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags” in Lake Placid, Florida, “were skipped from the end of October and into November due to the guidance.” Employees who followed “these unlawful instructions included not just FEMA workers but employees of other federal agencies working with FEMA,” the complaint states. Legal action can be taken against them individually under 42 USC Section 1985 and two of its clauses, the “deprivation clause” and the “support or advocacy clause,” according to the complaint. Both relate to “conspiracies to interfere with civil rights,” depriving a person or class of person equal protection of the law, as well as “injury to a person or their property or the deprivation of a right or privilege to a citizen,” the complaint says. The fact that the defendants both worked for FEMA at the time does not make them immune from prosecution, the complaint says, because they acted “outside of the scope of their employment,” engaged in a “series of discriminatory acts as opposed to a single action,” among other reasons. Moody’s lawsuit asks the court to award nominal and punitive damages against the two women and declare that they acted in their individual capacities to conspire to interfere with the civil rights of Floridians. Dehydrating 101 Series: Eggs

At some point, it happens to anyone who has lots of chickens…..you have lots of eggs in the fridge because the girls are going like gangbusters and you can't seem to use those eggs fast enough. Dehydrating 101 Series: Finding More Uses for Eggs Sure, you can give some away, do a ton of baking that you may not really want to do, or just hope that they will hold in the fridge for a while. You could even freeze some or come up with different egg recipes. But, did you ever think about dehydrating your egg overload? Supplies: dehydrator or oven parchment paper or fruit leather tray inserts eggs Using A Dehydrator If you have a dehydrator, it is quite easy to do. (You could probably also do the same in a low, slow oven, but I have issues with starting a big oven for hours over end when a dehydrator will be more efficient and won't put your oven out of commission.) It is easiest if you have fruit leather tray inserts to use for this project. I do have these for one of my dehydrators (I have 4 machines- all different types), but because many readers may not, I am showing the use of parchment paper instead.   Using Parchment Paper When using parchment paper, be sure that you cut out the area of your heat source, so that the paper does not cover and block it. This is very important. Also, make sure that you allow enough extra paper on the edges of your tray(s) so that the egg doesn't seep under the paper and drip into the bottom of the dehydrator.   Step 1: Break Fresh Eggs Break fresh eggs into a bowl. The number will depend on the size of your eggs and what your tray can hold. A good starting place is 4-6.   Step 2: Scramble Well Scramble WELL, making sure the eggs are thoroughly mixed. (If you do not mix well, the dried product may come out a bit greasy.) Do not add anything to the eggs if your goal is pure egg powder.   Step 3: Pour Egg Mixture Carefully pour the mixture onto the parchment (or fruit leather insert) covered tray. Set your temperature if your machine has that capability (I have been using 129 degrees), cover and let it go.   Step 4: Remove When Dry And Crumbly Once the egg is thoroughly dry and crumbly, it is ready to remove from the tray. Crumble into small pieces or grind into a powder. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. To reconstitute: 1 part dry to 3 parts water = 1 egg. Note that if you do find that your egg is a bit greasy, they are still salvageable. Blot the egg “sheets” with a paper towel, and let sit in a dust-free area to air dry. Repeat blotting if necessary. It can take a day to a week for the oils to dry. OurHalfAcreHomestead shows us a video on dehydrating raw eggs:  Powdered eggs are great to have on hand, especially for an emergency. And it gives you a way to save those excess eggs that you fear may go to waste! Oh, and those egg shells…..let them dry, then put them back into the carton and use each half as a mini seed planter. When the seedling appears, you will be able to plant shell and all right into the garden. Or crush the shells and add to the garden. Or grind finely and add to your chicken's grit. As long as the shells are finely ground, the birds will not get into the habit of going after their eggs because they won't realize that there is egg shell in the mix!Have you tried making your own pickled cactus?   Let us know your kitchen secrets in the comments below! Aside from dehydrating eggs, do you know other usages for eggs? Bitcoin and gold skyrocket after Trump victory — financial expert explains why

After former President Donald Trump declared victory last week, the value of Bitcoin, gold, and various stocks skyrocketed. Financial expert and author of “MoneyGPT” James Rickards knows why. “The immediate reaction to the Trump election was stocks took off, and with good reason. His economic policies, less regulation, drill baby drill, basically getting rid of wasteful investment in what I call the ‘Green New Scam,’” Rickards tells Jill Savage and Stu Burguiere on “Blaze News Tonight.” “So he has a lot of things that are going to be very good for stocks. However, there’s something bigger than Trump. There’s something bigger than the electoral process, which is the economy itself,” he continues, noting that in the next six to nine months, we may be going through a recession. “There are a lot of signs of recession out there, so we may get off to a rough start, but the same thing happened to Ronald Reagan in 1982. He had one of the worst recessions in U.S. history but finished with very strong growth toward the end of his first term and into a second term,” he explains. While Rickards believes that Trump’s presidency will overall be a good thing for the economy, he isn’t so sure about Bitcoin as a form of currency in general. “I’ve studied Bitcoin for a long time,” Rickards says. “If you want to buy Bitcoin, knock yourself out. But I don’t really think of it as a form of money.” “It’s really just a form of gambling. I don’t really think of it as an investment. There’s no use case for Bitcoin. Now, can you make money? Absolutely, a lot of people have. So my attitude is I’m not a Bitcoin-basher,” he adds. As for gold, Rickards explains that the value of it isn’t actually getting higher. “It’s not that gold’s getting higher, it’s that the dollar is collapsing in front of your eyes,” Rickards says. “What’s really happening is you’re watching your dollar evaporate. You’re watching the dollar crash.” “The main reason is people are looking for alternatives to the dollar. I’m not saying the dollar is going away. You can’t totally get out of the dollar. It’s too big for that,” he adds. Wild attacks on luxury cars puzzle insurance officials — until wildlife expert notices something odd about 'bear' on video

Authorities were baffled by a series of supposed “bear attacks” on luxury cars in California earlier this year. There were deep claw marks on the interiors of the vehicles and even video evidence of the alleged beast doing damage. However, investigators soon realized that the "bear attacks" were not what they seemed. The three insurance companies claimed they were defrauded of $141,839 because of the alleged insurance-fraud scheme. An insurance claim was made regarding an alleged "bear attack" on a 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost on Jan. 28 in Lake Arrowhead — an unincorporated community in the San Bernardino mountains. The reported animal was said to have caused interior damage to the vehicle. The California Department of Insurance said in a statement that there were two other insurance claims on the same date of loss and in the same location. The "bear" was said to have attacked a 2015 Mercedes G63 AMG and a 2022 Mercedes E350. This raised eyebrows with insurance officials. The people who made the claims included surveillance video of the alleged "bear" attacks.Investigators reviewed the videos and noticed the bear looked rather peculiar. The California Department of Insurance asked a biologist from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to review the three alleged "bear attack" videos — and the biologist quickly got to the bottom of it.“Upon further scrutiny of the video, the investigation determined the bear was actually a person in a bear costume,” the California Department of Insurance wrote.Law enforcement executed a search warrant, and detectives found the bear costume in one of the suspect's homes. The bear costume included metal claws that reportedly were used to damage the luxury cars. The California Department of Insurance, the Glendale Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol ascertained that four suspects were involved in the alleged insurance fraud scam. Police arrested Ruben Tamrazian — a 26-year-old from Glendale; Ararat Chirkinian — a 39-year-old from Glendale; Vahe Muradkhanyan — a 32-year-old from Glendale; and Alfiya Zuckerman — a 39-year-old from Valley Village. All four suspects have been charged with insurance fraud and conspiracy. The three insurance companies claimed they were defrauded of $141,839 over the alleged scheme. The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox.
