Every manager of a grocery store has to take on certain responsibilities. There are the obvious tasks, like supervising staff and maintaining various store operations. Then there are the responsibilities that no one can truly prepare for ahead of time. One of those moments happened in the parking lot of a Food Lion grocery store in South Carolina. It all started when a customer’s car began to quickly fill with smoke. Although we aren’t told exactly how, a store manager caught wind of this incident. Without hesitation, he jumped into action himself. With a fire extinguisher in hand, he made his way to the vehicle. Because the door wouldn’t open, he had to find a way to break the window. This is true even when the car refused to open, despite the owner letting him know it is, in fact, unlocked after all.
