Election Denier: Top Senate Democrat Still Refuses to Concede Race as Post-Election Tantrum Continues

Remember: It's only "election denial" if you have an R after your name. Sure, the Democrats raised a stink about the presidential election results in 2000, 2004 and 2016. The last two weren't even close, mind you, and both election denial theories rested on evidence-free assertions by elected officials --...

Elizabeth Warren Insults All Service Members with Attack on Secretary of Defense Pick Pete Hegseth

'We're Finally Free': Tim Walz's Children Describe Life After Election, And Kamala May Not Like the Message

While we often wonder post-election how the losing side's candidates are faring, we forget that the process also takes a heavy toll on their loved ones. President-elect Donald Trump's landslide victory in the 2024 election has given his MAGA supporters eight straight days of euphoria. House Republicans Announce Speaker Nominee After Internal Elections

House Republicans backed Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) to continue as speaker in a unanimous vote on Wednesday. Despite the threat of nominating a challenger, multiple sources told Fox News Digital Johnson gained unified support after President Trump addressed House Republicans. Trump reportedly said he was “100%” behind Johnson. “Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump for joining House Republicans this morning. Our strong @HouseGOP majority is looking forward to advancing your agenda that puts the American people FIRST! As you said, we will unify and get it done!” Johnson said Wednesday. Johnson has endured much of the same chaos as McCarthy while presiding over a razor-thin House majority, with GOP rebels weaponizing the small margin in efforts to force the conference to pass more conservative policy. But Johnson did not face any significant challengers on Wednesday, nor was he expected to with House Republicans on track to hold onto the chamber majority in the 119th Congress. It could be a different story in January, when he will need a majority of the entire House chamber to be elected speaker. “I’m humbled and honored to have been unanimously selected again by my Republican colleagues to serve as Speaker of the House. We stand united, determined, and ready to deliver the America First Agenda,” Johnson said. WATCH: It is a new day in America.    Congratulations to the members of our House GOP leadership team, @SteveScalise, @GOPMajorityWhip, @RepLisaMcClain, @RepRichHudson, @repkevinhern, @RepBlakeMoore, and @RepHouchin. I’m humbled and honored to have been unanimously selected again by… pic.twitter.com/H2cHInDbGI — Speaker Mike Johnson (@SpeakerJohnson) November 14, 2024 Per Roll Call: House Republicans on Wednesday selected Michigan Rep. Lisa McClain as the next Republican Conference chair, bringing a whirlwind race for the conference’s fourth-ranking leadership post to a close. The pick came during an hourslong meeting in which House Republicans unanimously nominated Mike Johnson, R-La., for speaker, signaling a sharp shift from recent divisive battles over who would hold the gavel. McClain, who currently serves as conference secretary of the House GOP, beat out Florida Rep. Kat Cammack to win the position. She will replace New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, who served two terms as conference chair and is now poised to be President-elect Donald Trump’s next ambassador to the United Nations. Rep. Don Bacon, R-Neb., praised the process. “There wasn’t a lot of friction — that’s a good thing.” Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana and Majority Whip Tom Emmer of Minnesota also sailed to reelection on Wednesday and will continue to serve in their positions during the 119th Congress. Rep. Richard Hudson of North Carolina won a second term as chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee, and Oklahoma Rep. Kevin Hern defeated Alabama Rep. Gary Palmer in the race for policy committee chairman. Palmer had previously served three terms in the role.

Legendary NBA Coach Suffers ‘Mild Stroke,’ Team Announces

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich suffered a mild stroke before a game on November 2nd, the team announced. The legendary coach is expected to make a full recovery. “At this point, a timeline for his return to the sidelines has not been determined,” the Spurs said. “During this time, the organization is grateful to the extended community for providing privacy and space to the Popovich family,” the statement added. pic.twitter.com/8ymPjBU8Oj — San Antonio Spurs (@spurs) November 13, 2024 A closer look: Per ESPN: Popovich has missed the past seven games, including Wednesday night’s win over the Washington Wizards, with what the team had previously referred to as an undisclosed medical episode. The Spurs provided a diagnosis and update on Popovich’s status earlier Wednesday, saying the coach suffered the stroke at the team’s arena. The Spurs said Popovich has started a rehabilitation program and is expected to make a full recovery. There is no timeline for his return, but general manager Brian Wright said that Popovich is “doing well.” “It is on all of us to play our part, to play our role, to continue to lean on each other, support each other, and be there for one another. And we look forward to the day that we can welcome him back,” Wright said before Wednesday’s game. “But it takes a village, and we’re all committed to that. But most importantly, we’re committed to making sure that he has everything he needs and giving him the time and space to continue to recover. And we’ll look forward to getting him back.” With 1,390 victories, Popovich is the winningest head coach in NBA history. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee has won five NBA championships with the Spurs. San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich suffered a mild stroke on Nov. 2. He is expected to make a full recovery and a timeline for return has not been determined. pic.twitter.com/FK6VMC1B57 — Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) November 13, 2024 From the New York Post: Spurs assistant Mitch Johnson has been handling the interim head coaching duties during Popovich’s absence. Popovich last coached the Spurs on Halloween in Salt Lake City, where the team beat the Jazz. “He’s not feeling well,” Johnson said of Popovich last week. “This has happened before. I think everybody’s just always got to be ready for the next man up. We’ve had it with injuries and sometimes people get sick or don’t feel well or things come up in life. He’s just not feeling well.” Popovich, who has coached San Antonio since 1996 and is in his 29th season at the helm, has led the team to five NBA championships and is a three-time NBA coach of the year winner. “When we walk into the building each and every day, we feel [Popovich’s] leadership, we feel that presence,” Spurs General Manager Brian Wright said Wednesday, per the Washington Post. “And so not having him, there’s clearly a void. And we miss him.”
