Matt Gaetz Resigns From Congress Following Attorney General Nomination

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) resigned from U.S. Congress effectively immediately after President-elect Donald Trump announced that he was being nominated to serve as U.S. Attorney General. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) announced at a press conference that Gaetz “issued his resignation letter effective immediately.” He said that Gaetz’s resignation caught House Republican leadership by surprise. “I asked him what the reasoning was, and he said, ‘Well, you can’t have too many absences,'” Johnson said. “So under Florida State law, there’s about an eight week period to select and fill in a vacant seat.” Johnson said that he has already placed a call to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to start the clock on filling Gaetz’s seat. “If we start the clock now, if you do the math, we may be able to fill that seat as early as January 3, when we take the new oath of office for the new Congress,” Johnson said. “So Matt would have done us a great service by making that decision as he did on the fly, and so we’re grateful for that.” NEWS Speaker Johnson says that Congressman Matt Gaetz, the Attorney General-designate, has already submitted his letter of resignation as a member of Congress effective immediately. Johnson says he believes this will allow Republicans to fill Gaetz’s seat by January 3rd. pic.twitter.com/vJFSmCtmHT — Yashar Ali ? (@yashar) November 14, 2024 Gaetz’s resignation ends a House investigation into explosive allegations made against the congressman, which he has vehemently denied. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Punchbowl News reported that the House Ethics Committee was set to vote in two days on whether to release a report outlining the findings from its investigation. ? ?BREAKING NEWS FROM @PunchbowlNews : Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-Fla.) resignation from Congress came two days before the House Ethics Committee was set to vote on releasing a “highly damaging” report outlining its investigation into the Republican, according to multiple sources… — Jake Sherman (@JakeSherman) November 14, 2024 Trump officially nominated Gaetz, who is one of his most hardcore supporters and defenders, on Wednesday to serve as the next attorney general. “Matt is a deeply gifted and tenacious attorney, trained at the William & Mary College of Law, who has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice,” Trump posted on social media. Trump said that ending the weaponization of the justice system was one of his top priorities and that Gaetz would focus on that issue along with prosecuting drug cartels. “On the House Judiciary Committee, which performs oversight of DOJ, Matt played a key role in defeating the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, and exposing alarming and systemic Government Corruption and Weaponization,” Trump said. “Matt will root out the systemic corruption at DOJ, and return the Department to its true mission of fighting Crime, and upholding our Democracy and Constitution,” he added. “We must have Honesty, Integrity, and Transparency at DOJ. Under Matt’s leadership, all Americans will be proud of the Department of Justice once again.” Gaetz responded to the news by posting on X: “It will be an honor to serve as President Trump’s Attorney General!”

‘Cataclysmic For American Democracy’: Liberals Melt Down Over Trump Picking Matt Gaetz For Attorney General

Liberals across the political spectrum are reacting with outrage and disbelief Wednesday to President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz as the next Attorney General. Many say they see this as a dire blow to American democracy, framing Gaetz’s nomination as a calculated test of Senate Republicans’ loyalty and a signal of […]

Polymarket CEO Slams FBI Raid and Device Seizures As Politically Driven Power Play

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Early Wednesday morning, Shayne Coplan, CEO of the betting platform Polymarket, which has been popular for election betting, was awakened by a dramatic FBI raid on his Soho apartment. This event occurred shortly after the platform had accurately predicted Donald Trump’s overwhelming win in the recent election, according to The Post. At around 6 a.m., federal agents demanded that Coplan hand over his phone and other electronics. Critics have called the raid an unnecessary display of force, meant to intimidate and influence public perception for political ends. A close source expressed frustration, stating, “They could have asked his lawyer for any of these things. Instead, they staged a so-called raid so they can leak it to the media and use it for obvious political reasons.” Coplan himself commented on the incident, expressing his disappointment with what he perceives as a politically motivated action by the Biden administration. “It’s discouraging that the current administration would seek a last-ditch effort to go after companies they deem to be associated with political opponents. We are deeply committed to being non-partisan, and today is no different, but the incumbents should do some self-reflecting and recognize that taking a more pro-business, pro-startup approach may be what would have changed their fate this election,” he stated. He also highlighted Polymarket’s role in the election, serving tens of millions without causing harm, and reaffirmed his optimism about the future of American entrepreneurship. No official reason has been provided for the raid, but the source, and Coplan himself, suspects political motives, particularly given Polymarket’s successful forecast of Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, contrary to most traditional polls. Top 15 Ways to Use Eggshells on the Homestead

Top 15 Ways to Use Eggshells on the Homestead

To regular folks, eggshells are merely trash. But to homesteading families, preppers, and survivalists, they offer a bounty of essentials uses around the farm. Even a small flock of chickens or ducks will produce an incredibly large amount of eggshells to use on and around the homestead – saving you money now and providing a renewable resource after a SHTF scenario happens. There are about 750 to 800 milligrams of calcium in every medium-sized eggshell. The easily accessible shells are simply too valuable of a resource to be carelessly tossed into the trash! When eggshells are used for edible human remedies, they must at least be cleaned thoroughly. Pasteurizing the eggshells is the best way to prevent the possibility of salmonella being spread – and the process is actually quite easy. Put the eggshells onto a baking sheet – no need to crush them up, and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. I am not a medical professional of any type, this information is shared simply based upon my own experience and tips from others who have repurposed eggshells for educational purposes. As with all home remedies, allergic reactions or other negative medical problems can arise from the use of any alternative medicine, no matter how natural it is or how well the ingredients have been cleaned. Top 15 Ways to Use Eggshells on the Homestead 1. Use the membrane as a natural first aid tool. The membrane can be used as a healing natural bandage. The nutrients in the membrane are thought to have natural properties which enhance the healing process. The membrane surrounds the developing embryo of the chick or duckling and is filled with compounds naturally designed to nourish the little creature growing inside of the egg. The membrane contains hyaluronic acid, amino acids, collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin. The nutrients are known to help with connective tissue disorders and offer pain relief for stiff joints – especially in the knees. The membrane has also been known to help draw out blackheads, heal acne, and to draw out splinters. 2. Crushed eggshells can be used as a much-needed calcium supplement for laying hens. The eggshells are free, and store bought supplements, like packages of oyster shells, are not. Chickens and ducks actually love eating their own eggshells. Simply sprinkle crushed shells over their feed or toss large chunks of eggshells into the coop run for the flock to nibble on in a free choice manner. 3. Sharpen knives Some preppers and homesteading families mix crushed eggshells with just enough water to make a spreadable mixture and use rub it onto metal blades before and during the sharpening process. 4. Eat them! After thoroughly cleaning eggshells and allowing them to air dry, crush them into a powder. The eggshell powder can be stored in a Mason jar or similar airtight container and sprinkled onto food as a human or beast calcium supplement during a long-term disaster. Crushed eggshells have been known to help stop diarrhea in both people and animals. Staying strong and healthy will be essential to the survival of the family if a doomsday scenario does strike. 5. Eggshells are a great addition to the garden for many reasons. Soft-bodied insects like snails and slugs loathe crawling over eggshells. To keep such pests out of the garden, crush up eggshells and store them in a bucket until you have enough to place alongside the rows of plants or onto the top of the soil in container gardens. 6. Make a calcium-rich vinegar with eggshells. Mix the ½ cup of calcium rich herbs you have on hand with one eggshell and pour them into a 1 gallon container of apple cider vinegar. The mixture needs to infuse for about five weeks before being used as a health supplement or as part of any home remedy which calls for apple cider vinegar. 7. Eggshells are a perfect addition to either the compost pile or garden. Crush eggshells and sow them directly into the garden or toss them whole into the compost pile to help develop nutrient-rich soil for crops, fruit trees, and berry bushes. 8. Tomatoes, unlike slugs, love eggshells! To prevent and combat blossom end rot, which is caused by a calcium deficiency, put some crushed eggshells into the garden hole dug when transplanting tomato plants from their growing containers into the garden. During the growing process, a small hole can be carefully dug around the base of the plant to place crushed eggshells into if blossom end rot begins to develop. 9. Make a homemade calcium supplement with crushed and powdered eggshells. Pour the powder into a 00 size gelatin capsule and seal it with your pill making machine. This size pill is an accepted dose for adults, a small gel capsule would need to be used when making any type of natural homemade pill for a child. There are a vast array of such machines available, and every homesteader should have one (or two, because as all preparedness-minded folks know, two is one and one is none!) I have several and have found them to be both simple to use and easy on my wallet. 10. There is no need to spend money on seedling starter containers when you have eggshells at your disposal. Simply fill each rounded end of the shell with enough soil needed to house the seed. The seed will benefit from the nutrients in the membrane and shells during the growing process. The shells will wobble, so place them back into an egg container or use toilet paper rolls as dividers when placing the eggshell seedling holdings onto a tray, in a wood frame, or storage bin of your choosing. | 11. Add more calcium to your broth or stock making by throwing in a 1/3 cup of powdered eggshells. Homesteading is a lot of hard work. The healthier and stronger the bones, the less taxing on the body the daily chores will feel. A broken leg on a homestead could spell financial disaster – broken bones during a disaster could prove deadly. 12. Mix together in equal parts comfrey root and cleaned eggshells to reduce pain and inflammation of the gums and cavities. The mixture can be ingested, but it is recommended to allow it to coat the sore tooth and gum and then wipe out of the mouth – rinsing with water afterwards if possible. 13. Use eggshells as bait. Wild fowl love eggshells just as much as your flock of chickens, ducks, or turkeys. Coax some grouse, or wild ducks and turkeys into your line of fire by laying out an eggshell treat regularly. The eggshells can be crunched into multiple pieces and cast about onto the ground or mixed in with other tempting food to lure the birds into range. 14. Make your own calcium citrate. Clean the eggshells and allow them to air dry – or pasteurize them. Crush the shells and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice per medium-sized shell. Cover the eggshells and juice with a towel or plastic wrap and allow the juice to dissolve the shell. The mixture left in the tray should now be a usable calcium citrate supplement. 15. Give the kiddos something fun to do after their chores and make eggshell sidewalk chalk. After cleaning the eggshells, have the children help you grind up about 10 shells, pour in 1 ¼ teaspoon of water, 1 1/4 teaspoon of flour, add a squirt of food and stir. Pour the mixture into a cylinder style container – toilet paper rolls work great. Allow it to dry until it is completely solid – it usually takes overnight. Once dried, the eggshell sidewalk chalk is ready for little hands to use it to make something artistic on the front walk or side of the barn! NB Podcast: Hegseth Nomination for DoD Boss Brings Out the Worst in the Liberal Media

Pete Hegseth is a 20-year Army veteran with two combat tours, two Bronze Stars, and two Army Commendation Medals, but his nomination to be the secretary of defense has brought out the worst in the liberal media. NewsBusters Managing Editor Curtis Houck and I break down the media’s disgusting diminution of Hegseth’s career, and call out the liberal ladies of The View for their ignorance and divisiveness. I was fairly spicy during this episode because few things grind my gears more than elitist journalists – who couldn’t even be bothered to be war correspondents in their careers – putting down the distinguished service of a veteran. We kick off the show by discussing some of the known morale, recruitment, and retention problems the military has been having over the last few years and how Hegseth’s infantryman perspective could bring some solutions. We also call out folks like CNN’s Jim Acosta and Brian Stelter who suggest his only achievement in life has been being a Fox News host. The conversation pivots to the divisive liberal ladies of The View and how they disgustingly wrote off Hegseth’s service and basically ignoring all of it. Whoopi Goldberg claims he “clearly does not know anything about the military,” while Joy Behar took the aforementioned CNN route to disparagement. Meanwhile, Sunny Hostin did her usually ‘he’s a racist’ shtick. We wrap up by talking about the likes of Joy Reid, Hostin, and Goldberg were divisive forces in America as they call for Democrats not to attend holiday gatherings with Trump voters. I’ll conclude here the same way we finished the show, by asking everyone to keep Dennis Prager in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery from a fall.

‘Grand slam by President Trump’: Massive change coming to the White House and the DOJ

President-elect Donald Trump might not be in the Oval Office yet, but he’s wasting no time getting ready to clean house at the Department of Justice. “This is a grand slam by President Trump,” Mike Davis, president of the Article III Project, tells Liz Wheeler of “The Liz Wheeler Show” of Trump’s appointments so far. “I’ve worked with Susie Wiles as a volunteer for Trump’s campaign,” Davis says. “Susie is a phenomenal pick for White House chief of staff. She understands her job is not to control Trump, it’s her job to control everything else around Trump, so Trump can be Trump, and he has a functioning campaign operation and a functioning White House.” While it’s the common belief among leftists that Trump is “sexist,” his appointment of Wiles couldn’t prove them more wrong. “It’s very clear that President Trump respects Susie, and he does very well with women. Trump had one of the first, I think, the first female executive in the construction industry back in the '90s who worked for Trump for like 18 years,” Davis explains, adding, “This is the first female White House chief of staff.” Davis is also pleased with Stephen Miller, who he calls a “fantastic pick for White House deputy chief of staff.” “He’s been a loyalist to President Trump for a long time. He’s been the tip of the spear on immigration, he’s going to be fantastic in that role,” Davis says, adding that Tom Homan is also a great pick. “He’ll work hand in glove with Susie and Stephen to make sure we close our border and deport these illegal immigrants, starting with the violent criminals first and then moving on to the rest,” he adds. As for Davis himself, he plans to “strongly advocate for serious reforms at the Justice Department.” “The Justice Department has been politicized and weaponized against President Trump,” he tells Wheeler. “His top aides like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro who got sent to prison, his supporters on January 6 who were politically persecuted.” “The Biden-Harris Justice Department has been weaponized to go after parents outraged by gender chaos in schools, in the resulting rapes in high school bathrooms, they’ve gone after Christians praying at abortion clinics, and including putting a 75-year-old Christian in prison for praying at an abortion clinic,” he continues. “There has to be accountability for what happened, and that accountability has to come at the Justice Department,” he adds. Biometric payments are here — but at what cost to your privacy?

Biometric payments are here — but at what cost to your privacy?

Have you ever thought paying with your credit card was too complicated or inconvenient? If this sounds like you, you’ll be happy to know that a new solution to this modern problem is now being tested. Just raise your palm and accept your biometric overlords. According to a report from Reclaim the Net, Visa and Tencent have partnered to invent a new payment method recognition sytem. This method combines palm prints and what is reportedly called “vein recognition.” The report goes on to say: “This is touted as more reliable than facial recognition since that can reportedly be tampered with more easily.”Is your data worth an extra few seconds of your day? This new biometric technology is being rolled out and tested in Singapore, where participating businesses can “include palm scanners in their payment terminals, while this method is advertised for ... convenience since it does not require the use of physical devices.” As this explanation demonstrates, customers would only need to verify their identity and card credentials on the first purchase when they opt in to this program. Tencent and Visa’s original announcement for this plan was made on November 6, 2024, during the Singapore Fintech Festival. At the conference, Yang Wenhui, general manager at Tencent Financial Technology Asia Pacific, showcased the “innovation of Tencent Palm in both user experience and technology application, as well as its commitment to data security and privacy compliance.”Adeline Kim, Visa country manager for Singapore and Brunei, described the program's goals: “Our aim is to enhance the payment experience and ensure that our customers can enjoy seamless transactions with the highest level of security. Together with Tencent, we are excited to lead the way in transforming the future of payments.” Reclaim the Net mentions that this program is part of a larger policy vision in Singapore called Smart Nation. Singapore has been developing this initiative since 2014, yet it recently unveiled Smart Nation 2.0: “The Smart Nation 2.0 strategies will be continually iterated and adjusted as digital developments evolve. We will adapt our approaches over time in close consultation with citizens and businesses, responding to technological advancements and emerging challenges.”This innovative technology comes with its share of criticisms as well. As the report says, the tradeoff between the purported “convenience” of the palm recognition system comes at a steep price: “That may seem like a poor deal since clearly comprehensive biometric data is being surrendered in exchange for saving a few seconds by not having to whip out a card or a phone.”There also appear to be plans to expand this technology into other aspects of citizens’ lives: “Tencent looks forward to collaborating with various businesses to promote its palm recognition technology in applications such as payment, access control, and transportation.”The report also raises the issue of who handles the collected biometric data in this system: “Customers in Singapore may or may not be happy to learn that it’s the job of China’s Tencent (via the local subsidiary) [to handle the biometric data once it is collected]. Tencent is in charge of the palm recognition infrastructure.”This palm recognition technology produced by Tencent and Visa is just one example of new attempts at collecting biometric data. While it is in the early stages of development, Singapore's tendency toward further integration of technology into society should be a warning to us all around the world. The price of this convenience is very high, and it benefits corporations that do not have citizens’ best interests in mind. Is your data worth an extra few seconds of your day?
