Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ father was arrested Saturday night. Pat Mahomes Sr.‚ 53‚ was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Texas‚ TMZ Sports reported. He was released on $10‚000 bail the next day. Mahomes Sr.‚ a former professional baseball pitcher‚ was also arrested for a DWI in 2019 and spent 40 days in jail for the offense‚ which he served on weekends. He had been arrested for a DWI prior to that as well‚ KFAN reported. Mahomes Sr.’s arrest comes just one week before his son’s team faces the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII‚ which will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday. In late January‚ Mahomes Sr. joked that he hoped he wouldn’t have to sit with Taylor Swift and Jason Kelce while watching the Chiefs play the Baltimore Ravens on January 28 during the AFC Championship game. When asked on the Evan &; Tiki WFAN Sports Radio show if he planned to sit with Swift‚ who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce‚ and Kelce’s brother‚ Mahomes Sr. joked‚ “I hope not‚” according to the New York Post. “No‚ I don’t think so.
